Sex In The City Inn
Advantages: Good facilities, excellent breakfast, well-run establishment
Disadvantages: Dinner menu is expensive
...WRITTEN November 2009
INTRODUCTION
It is great to be back on Ciao. A few months ago my wife and me spent a lovely week in Glasgow, staying at the City Inn. I don't know if our Karen has ever been to Scotland? The purpose of this op is to outline our stay at this hotel thereby giving you an impression whether you would like to stay here or not?
WHY WE CHOSE THIS HOTEL?
Our travel operator for this trip was British Airways Holidays. I am sure that cheaper options would be found by more research on the Internet. But we have travelled with BA Holidays before and feel comfortable travelling with them.
The BA Holidays website gave about 12 hotels to choose from. Some were eliminated due to the prices whilst others were discarded due to location. I ended up with a short-list of 4 hotels and selected the City Inn...

Perfect Apartment in Glasgow City Centre
Advantages: Perfect location
Disadvantages: None
...We stayed at this 4-star apartment hotel on 19th of December 2008 for 1 night before we head to Isle of Bute for our friend?s wedding. We flew into Glasgow International Airport from London City Airport with British Airways. It took about 1 hour and 35 minutes get reach Glasgow. As soon as we reached Glasgow Airport, we went straight to the car rental desk to pick up our car. Once you come out of the arrival hall you will see several car rental companies right in front of you. The distance to the hotel from the Airport is about 11miles and it should really take about 20 minutes to reach the hotel. But we took over an hour to reach our hotel, because the weather was really bad and there was an accident on the road. Just be careful, there are a lot of one-way systems in the city centre, so if you get a turning wrong then it?ll take you...

Budget accomodation gem
Advantages: Location, Price, parking
Disadvantages: Breakfast
...The premier travelinn at charing cross Glasgow is perfect for the city break on a budget or for a conveniently positioned based when on business in the city.
This is a large 12 storey hotel with a restaurant and bar on the first floor. All room are on suite and the price is per room not per person so if you are a family you get extra value from the family rooms at no extra cost. All rooms have remote control T.V. with selected digital channels (No satelite), tea and coffee making facilities and comfortable beds with additional bedding if required.
Breakfast isn't included in the price and to be honest it isn't worth it anyway. As the hotels main negative the breakfast is luke warm and tasteless; got out for breakfast there are no shortages of local cafes and diners in close proximity.
Location is the key selling point for this...

Glasgow, a city near the Scottish countryside
Advantages: Lots to do, near magnificent countryside
Disadvantages: It rains sometimes
...Although I am not too keen on cities, Glasgow is an exception because its friendly, has an wealth of history and plenty of interesting things going on all the time. Glasgwegians are a hardy bunch, but on the whole they are friendly, helpful and cheerful. Although its a comfortable city, it has a lot going for it for residents and visitors. Its surrounded by hills, to remind you that there is some magnificent countryside not too far away.
It does not rain all the time either and OK if it is wet there are still lots of things to do. Glasgow has many fascinating museums to explore. Try the Tenement House for a real sense of what life was like fifty or so years ago in Glasgow, or the Transport Museum for a fantastic collection of motor vehicles etc, and a genuine old street.
Some of the best shopping in the UK is in Glasgow...

* A Great City Centre Hotel *
Advantages: Location , rooms ,
Disadvantages: expensive , weird food
...I have just realised that I stay in a lot of hotels over the year as I tend to visit Glasgow and London alot, so the cost soon add's up!
Anyway on my last trip to Glasgow I thought i'd try a different hotel for a change as I go back to the same one ( as i know it's good)
The Park in caught my eye because behind the reseption desk there is a water fall that changes colour , everytime I walked past this hotel I wanted to stay there!!
~*Location*~
it's 30 seconds from Glasgow bus station , not kidding you can see it from your window !! Very Central
~*The room*~
The room was lovely.
The Ensuite had a cool jet shower.one thing is part of the bathroom wall was made of glass blocks which I found a bit strange as it was looknig into the room and you can see right in!
~* Extra Informatioin*~
This hotel is a 4 start hotel and it...

Come on Inn the hotels lovely...
Advantages: Amazing food, friendly and professional staff, lovely rooms
Disadvantages: £20 cab ride away from airport, sound proofing not as good as it could be
...Location
***********
The City Inn, Glasgow is located at Finnieston Quay, Glasgow, G3 8HN. For anyone unfamiliar with Glasgow this is an area that has been redeveloped in recent years, and is home to the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre. The area has the feel of somewhere on the up, with big businesses (like SMG) and developments all over, although its not totally there yet, and I'd compare it to the London Docklands 5-10 years ago before all the shops and businesses had moved in.
I now work quite a bit out of our Glasgow office, and so will be staying in Glasgow on a regular basis. The main body of this review covers the first time I stayed there, during mid January 06, with a slight amendment based on my stay last night (7th February)
When I first was told I had to go to Glasgow I discussed the accommodation options...

Abode hotel glasgow.
Advantages: Fantastic hotel. Trendy. Perfect place to stay when you visit glasgow.
Disadvantages: NOT A THING.
...the charm of this old building.
The room was very modern and had a very calming and relaxing feel to it.
You get a great nights sleep in the extreamly comfortable bed.
The bathroom was very nice. With a selection of fine shower gel, shampoo, body lotion, soap and other handy bits. The food was of very high standard, I used to be a chef and i was so impressed. There is also a very trendy bar down stairs. The bar is cool and relaxing. The staff are all great and happy to help
To sum up abode in glasgow is a lovely hotel to stay at. If you are planing to vist glasgow and want a modern, trendy relaxing hotel i dont think you can go wrong with abode. It is also in a great location. Right in the heart of the city centre and close to the bus and train stations, shops, bars and clubs and many places of interest.

...**** Argyll Hotel****
**Location/Getting there**
This hotel isn't dead central in Glasgow as you have to walk for quite a while down Sauchiehall street but it is a great budget hotel to stay in if you are planning to go to the SECC.They even have maps to help you get from the hotel to the SECC and it only takes about 15 minutes to walk it.
**Reception/staff**
The hotel isn't that glamourous or anything but the staff are always very helpful and friendly. You get the feeling that they like their job which is nice instead of having a scowling member of staff.
**Hotel/Room**
Pretty much every time i have stayed in this hotel i have had the same room. Its pretty standard as rooms go .It is always very clean and tidy,it has a kettle and some biscuits. The shower is okay. They always give us plenty of pillows .

Café Hula - Great Homecooked Food in the Heart of Glasgow
Advantages: Great food, good value, handy for Theatre Royal, relaxed atmosphere, excellent service
Disadvantages: None really. But you might get undercharged!
...spotted the odd thespian here too (including John Savident (Coronation "Ashley, I say, Ashley" Street) who was starring in HMS Pinafore).
I am lead to believe that Café Hula is run by a husband and wife team, both of whom operate mainly back of house, although it has one of those fairly open dining/kitchen areas. It is a bustling and busy place but with a relaxing buzz; it has been busy on each occasion that we have eaten here (although that has been either Friday or Saturday early evening) and I would definitely recommend booking at the weekend to avoid disappointment.
We have only ever eaten here pre-theatre and each time it has been a very positive and enjoyable experience.
The staff are mainly young, and are enthusiastic, friendly and efficient. Some are from overseas, possibly students in Glasgow, and their...
