Perfect Apartment in Glasgow City Centre

Advantages: Perfect location
Disadvantages: None

...We stayed at this 4-star apartment hotel on 19th of December 2008 for 1 night before we head to Isle of Bute for our friend?s wedding. We flew into Glasgow International Airport from London City Airport with British Airways. It took about 1 hour and 35 minutes get reach Glasgow. As soon as we reached Glasgow Airport, we went straight to the car rental desk to pick up our car. Once you come out of the arrival hall you will see several car rental companies right in front of you. The distance to the hotel from the Airport is about 11miles and it should really take about 20 minutes to reach the hotel. But we took over an hour to reach our hotel, because the weather was really bad and there was an accident on the road. Just be careful, there are a lot of one-way systems in the city centre, so if you get a turning wrong then it?ll take you...

* A Great City Centre Hotel *

Advantages: Location , rooms ,
Disadvantages: expensive , weird food

...I have just realised that I stay in a lot of hotels over the year as I tend to visit Glasgow and London alot, so the cost soon add's up! Anyway on my last trip to Glasgow I thought i'd try a different hotel for a change as I go back to the same one ( as i know it's good) The Park in caught my eye because behind the reseption desk there is a water fall that changes colour , everytime I walked past this hotel I wanted to stay there!! ~*Location*~ it's 30 seconds from Glasgow bus station , not kidding you can see it from your window !! Very Central ~*The room*~ The room was lovely. The Ensuite had a cool jet shower.one thing is part of the bathroom wall was made of glass blocks which I found a bit strange as it was looknig into the room and you can see right in! ~* Extra Informatioin*~ This hotel is a 4 start hotel and it...

Budget accomodation gem

Advantages: Location, Price, parking
Disadvantages: Breakfast

...The premier travelinn at charing cross Glasgow is perfect for the city break on a budget or for a conveniently positioned based when on business in the city. This is a large 12 storey hotel with a restaurant and bar on the first floor. All room are on suite and the price is per room not per person so if you are a family you get extra value from the family rooms at no extra cost. All rooms have remote control T.V. with selected digital channels (No satelite), tea and coffee making facilities and comfortable beds with additional bedding if required. Breakfast isn't included in the price and to be honest it isn't worth it anyway. As the hotels main negative the breakfast is luke warm and tasteless; got out for breakfast there are no shortages of local cafes and diners in close proximity. Location is the key selling point for this...

Sex In The City Inn

Advantages: Good facilities, excellent breakfast, well-run establishment
Disadvantages: Dinner menu is expensive

...from Ciao reviews. PRICES The cost per night varied from just under GBP 100 to just over. Breakfast was included with our package. Otherwise it would have cost around GBP 12 per person every morning. LOCATION The hotel is located at Finnieston Quay, just on the outskirts of Glasgow city centre. We took a taxi from Glasgow Airport to the hotel and the fare was around GBP 21. The journey took about 30 minutes. An alternative route would be to take a bus from the airport to Buchanan Station and take a taxi from there. Surprisingly there is no rail link from the airport to the city centre. A few months ago the Scottish Government threw out a motion to build a rail link on the grounds of cost. CHECKING-IN Checking into the hotel was quick and easy. The hotel receptionist took our credit/debit card details to...

love this hotel

Advantages: -
Disadvantages: --

...**** Park Inn- Glasgow**** Recently through hotelclub.com i was given about £25 off a hotel so my friend and i decided that instead of getting our normal hotel extra cheap we would treat ourself to a nicer one. **Location/Getting there** Located in the centre of Glasgow, this four star hotel is right next to the Bus station and a five minute walk to the train station. It is also very close to Buchanan street and the gallery of modern art. **Reception/staff** As you enter the hotel you see the restaurant to one side, reception desk straight ahead and the bar to your right.Staff were very friendly and checking in only took about five minutes. **Hotel/Room** The hotel has 100 rooms and every room has a dvd player or playstation, ours had a dvd player. The shower in the en suite bathroom was amazing!!! The best shower i have ever...

Great value in Berlin city centre

Advantages: Value
Disadvantages: Nothing springs to mind

...My friend and I went to Berlin earlier on this month for a short break to get away from the bad Scottish weather. We were away for three days and four nights and were looking for somewhere cheap but comfortable to stay. We ended up staying at the Holiday Inn Express City Centre West. Cost Cost is always my prime consideration when making any purchase so I was delighted with the price of £27 per person per night for a twin room at the Holiday Inn Express, especially given the poor Euro exchange rate for tourists. This was a special offer from one of the many websites that offers good deals on hotels. The special offer gave 25% off the standard price so the standard price would be £36 per night. This is still pretty good value I think, for the reasons listed below in my review? Booking As mentioned above I booked through...

Delta Hotel 42 The Damrak Amsterdam City Centre

Advantages: Superb Central Location
Disadvantages: Strict on Room Checkout Times

...street, it is an excellent location to relax over a good breakfast whilst watching the hustle and bustle of Amsterdam. If you just fancy a snack, a few doors down from the hotel is 'Pizza M Slice' serving the best (yep you've guessed it) pizza in the city. A must try. If you are travelling to Amsterdam by car (not recommended) the hotel has arranged a 15% discount off parking fees at a car park a few minutes away. Parking is very expensive in the city, and as the public transport is excellent and the majority of attractions are close by, a car really is not needed. For those of a sporty nature there is a modern fitness centre 20 meters from the hotel, where, in cooperation with the fitness centre, there is a discount for guests. All in all, the Hotel Delta is an ideal choice for the budget-minded traveler, very reasonable rates...

Brilliant budget basic base for Glaswegian fun

Advantages: At the centre of the Glasgow universe
Disadvantages: Limited breakfast if you are a picky type

...Background I was up in Scotland for a short trip to Glasgow and Dundee and having decided on the Dundee Hilton for that part of the trip, took a look at Hilton hotels in Glasgow... Unfortunately, the prices were coming out at a pretty extortionate level and I wasn't especially impressed at the location of the 2 Hiltons in Glasgow either. Because I was only going to be in town for one night, it was important to be very near my main point of interest - the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall and also to get a cheapish rate for a single Thursday night stay. Booking: A quick session on Google soon threw up a few good ideas and since my other hotel frequent stay programme is the Priority Club which earns me British Airways miles, I decided to concentrate on that particular option. Priority Club provides reservations for: Crowne...

Glasgow, a city near the Scottish countryside

Advantages: Lots to do, near magnificent countryside
Disadvantages: It rains sometimes

...Although I am not too keen on cities, Glasgow is an exception because its friendly, has an wealth of history and plenty of interesting things going on all the time. Glasgwegians are a hardy bunch, but on the whole they are friendly, helpful and cheerful. Although its a comfortable city, it has a lot going for it for residents and visitors. Its surrounded by hills, to remind you that there is some magnificent countryside not too far away. It does not rain all the time either and OK if it is wet there are still lots of things to do. Glasgow has many fascinating museums to explore. Try the Tenement House for a real sense of what life was like fifty or so years ago in Glasgow, or the Transport Museum for a fantastic collection of motor vehicles etc, and a genuine old street. Some of the best shopping in the UK is in Glasgow...
