THE EXPRESS HOLIDAY INN GLASGOW AIRPORT !

Advantages: location, clean and comfortable, great value for money ,plenty of facilitys.friendly staff
Disadvantages: none

...Holiday Inn Express at Glasgow Airport. Me and my girlfriend booked this hotel 3 weeks before hand and got a great rate of £55 for one night including full breakfast. We got the free airport bus from buchan bus station which takes to outside the main terminal at the airport .When we arrived we were amazed at how close it was actually to the main terminal of Glasgow Airport less than 2 minutes which was very handy for our morning departure. We checked in around 1630 and were told in detail the facility's , restaurant opening times , breakfast times and all check out details by two friendly staff receptionists one lady also helped us with the masses of luggage we had to the room. We were surprised with the quality of the hotel with it just being a budget hotel the entrance to the hotel resembles the same look in decor as any 4 or 5 star...

Good airport hotel, but not so good customer service!

Advantages: Clean and comfortable
Disadvantages: Customer service

...I spent two nights at this hotel with my partner recently when up in Glasgow to see a concert at Hampden Park. It was the second time I have stayed at this hotel, the first being a couple of years back when again I was attending a concert. The hotel is very easy to find and ideally situated just off Junction 28 on the M8 at the airport itself. The hotel is visible from the motorway, and it just a case of driving into the airport, turn right at the roundabout, and it is straight ahead of you. There is a car park at the hotel, which was free the first time I stayed here, but you are now charged £5.00 per night. If you are going on holiday, you can also leave your car here. I have stayed in Express by Holiday Inn hotels quite often over the last few years and only once had a problem, which resulted in me receiving a refund so all was well...

Café Hula - Great Homecooked Food in the Heart of Glasgow

Advantages: Great food, good value, handy for Theatre Royal, relaxed atmosphere, excellent service
Disadvantages: None really. But you might get undercharged!

...spotted the odd thespian here too (including John Savident (Coronation "Ashley, I say, Ashley" Street) who was starring in HMS Pinafore). I am lead to believe that Café Hula is run by a husband and wife team, both of whom operate mainly back of house, although it has one of those fairly open dining/kitchen areas. It is a bustling and busy place but with a relaxing buzz; it has been busy on each occasion that we have eaten here (although that has been either Friday or Saturday early evening) and I would definitely recommend booking at the weekend to avoid disappointment. We have only ever eaten here pre-theatre and each time it has been a very positive and enjoyable experience. The staff are mainly young, and are enthusiastic, friendly and efficient. Some are from overseas, possibly students in Glasgow, and their...

Abode hotel glasgow.

Advantages: Fantastic hotel. Trendy. Perfect place to stay when you visit glasgow.
Disadvantages: NOT A THING.

...Well i must say what a wonderful hotel. Me and my girlfriend booked a night at Abode glasgow on new years eve and loved it so much we booked a second night in the morning just after we enjoyed the best breakfast we had for years. We both live in glasgow but wanted a nice hotel to go back to after enjoying the new year celebrations in george square. We just could not be botherd with the hasle getting home. It is bad enough getting a taxi on a normal saturday night, think what it would be like with ten thousand all trying to get a taxi at the one time. I loved the way the hotel has been decorated. It is very modern but they have kept alot of the old features. Including a very old life in the centre of the hotel, with a very modern water feature flowing right down the lift framework. I think it is fantastic that they have kept all...

thumbs up for Paisley University

Advantages: Excellent range of part-time courses
Disadvantages: Paisley itself is not that nice (I live there!)

...Currently studying a part-time BSc degree in Computing at Paisley University (paid for by my employers - lucky ain't I?). As I only have experience of the Paisley Campus I cannot fully comment on the other two. History: Founded in 1897 as a centre providing purely vocational courses. Degree courses were introduced in the early 1900's and finally University status was granted in 1992 (the university was previously known as Paisley Polytechnic). Currently Paisley has an excellent reputation for innovation and graduate job prospects (down to the fact that many courses are work oriented). Although it sits very low in so-called 'league tables' of universities, this really doesn't give an accurate rating. This university is one of just a few in the UK which is willing to let just about anyone improve their education. They are not...

cheap hotel in glasgow

Advantages: -
Disadvantages: --

...**** Argyll Hotel**** **Location/Getting there** This hotel isn't dead central in Glasgow as you have to walk for quite a while down Sauchiehall street but it is a great budget hotel to stay in if you are planning to go to the SECC.They even have maps to help you get from the hotel to the SECC and it only takes about 15 minutes to walk it. **Reception/staff** The hotel isn't that glamourous or anything but the staff are always very helpful and friendly. You get the feeling that they like their job which is nice instead of having a scowling member of staff. **Hotel/Room** Pretty much every time i have stayed in this hotel i have had the same room. Its pretty standard as rooms go .It is always very clean and tidy,it has a kettle and some biscuits. The shower is okay. They always give us plenty of pillows . **Other** They...

Glasgow's Alive

Advantages: Vibrant, City of Culture
Disadvantages: None

...Gosh, I am bored this afternoon. It?s a holiday, and I feel I should be doing something, however my hubby is working all afternoon, and so I have been a little lazy. I even watched the Brazil Turkey match this morning, without being forced to. Anyway, continuing in the theme of Travel reviews, I would thought I would write about a town that is a little more closer to home that my last few opinions! I live on the West Coast of Scotland, and it is about 45 minutes drive on a good day, to reach the town of Glasgow. I first moved to Scotland in 1993, and so I have had plenty of opportunity to sample the shopping, nightlife and culture in this town. Getting to Glasgow ----------------------- Well, if you like you can fly in. Glasgow International Airport is about twelve miles west of the city, and has great links via the M8...

My strange night in Glasgow

Advantages: Reasonably priced, good location, breakfast ok
Disadvantages: The staff, lack of digital TV

...~~~Intro~~~ Back in August everything was going fantastically, I'd been on a great barge holiday with friends, work was bearable, things with hubby good, and my self-injury charity work going amazingly. I became aware of a self-harm conference in Glasgow on 18th October, and thought that it would be a great networking opportunity. After booking a place. I spent some time while bored at work searching on the Internet for a reasonably priced hotel in Glasgow within walking distance of the train station and the conference venue. There was quite a selection, but it seemed that the Merchant Lodge hotel would suit me nicely in terms of location and cost (£50 B&B). A couple of weeks prior to the event, disaster struck in our charity (perhaps a year down the line when everything is sorted I will review what can go wrong in small...

Hot and spicy in Glasgow

Advantages: Great food
Disadvantages: Not a huge selection

...A recent trip to Glasgow resulted in a couple of meals out, one of which was in The Wee Curry Shop along Byres Road in the West End of Glasgow. The Wee Curry Shop has three outlets in Glasgow: Ashton Lane, which is the West End's bar street and Buccleuch Street, which is near the Glasgow School of Art. I didn't visit either of the other two outlets, but friends who have claim that they are similar, with some differences in the menu. Location: 41 Byres Street Glasgow Tel: 0141 339 1339 Website: http://www.weecurryshopglasgow.co.uk This is near Hillhead underground station and is within 20 minutes walking distance of Hyndland overland train station. Decor First impressions weren't all that brilliant. Going straight in through the door takes you directly into the restaurant and it seems really small, with the bar to...

Perfect Apartment in Glasgow City Centre

Advantages: Perfect location
Disadvantages: None

...We stayed at this 4-star apartment hotel on 19th of December 2008 for 1 night before we head to Isle of Bute for our friend?s wedding. We flew into Glasgow International Airport from London City Airport with British Airways. It took about 1 hour and 35 minutes get reach Glasgow. As soon as we reached Glasgow Airport, we went straight to the car rental desk to pick up our car. Once you come out of the arrival hall you will see several car rental companies right in front of you. The distance to the hotel from the Airport is about 11miles and it should really take about 20 minutes to reach the hotel. But we took over an hour to reach our hotel, because the weather was really bad and there was an accident on the road. Just be careful, there are a lot of one-way systems in the city centre, so if you get a turning wrong then it?ll take you...
