Premier Inn, Charing Cross Glasgow

Advantages: Close to town and all amenities
Disadvantages: none

...I have never stayed in the Premier Inn before, but I felt I had to share my experience of the past weekend. The staff in both reception and the restaurant were fantastic, they were really helpful and made you feel right at home. The room and bathroom were both spotless, warm and the freeview television meant that my daughter didn't miss her soaps while she was away. The bed was both big and comfortable and we didn't have any trouble getting to sleep. We opted for the breakfast deal and we were not disappointed, the food was well cooked and warm there was also plenty of choice. Access to the hotel was excellent for both able bodied and non-able bodied people, we didn't have a wheelchair but we did have a six month old baby and a pram, and even though it is situated next to Charing Cross rail station we didn't hear a thing from...

Glasgow's Buffet Banquet

Advantages: Great variety, wide range of vegetarian dishes, value for money
Disadvantages: very busy at all times, not suitable for young families

...A new buffet restaurant, The China Buffet King, has opened on Sauchiehall Street Glasgow, opposite the Dental Hospital. After visiting chinese buffets on holiday in Canada and America my husband and I prayed for the day one would open near us. True, Chinese restaurants in the U.K. have buffet nights but they are often poor value and have little real choice. The China Buffet King is a totally different experience and one I recommend to you wholeheartedly. The first thing you notice about the China Buffet King is the almost permanent queue outside it - a good sign I would say. We had to queue for around ten minutes for a table for six but it was worth the wait. It was very busy and I felt that it wasn't suitable for a young family because of that. The restaurant is spacious, clean and well staffed. Although the waiters mostly...

Diamond review  Harvester Restaurants

Advantages: Always one close by, quick turn out, children are welcome and catered for.
Disadvantages: Toilets can be quite disturbing, not all dishes taste as good they are described.

...Harvester Restaurants Restaurant Reviewed: Stag and Hounds Winchester Road Basingstoke Hampshire (next to Comet and Home Base) The Harvester chain of Restaurants have over 2000 outlets across the United Kingdom and owned and operated by Mitchells and Butlers, who claim to be the UK's leading operator of managed pubs, bars and restaurants. Harvester claim to offer healthy eating, drinking and entertainment in one reasonably priced outlet. **** Parking and Getting a Table ***** As with most of the Harvester's I have visited, there is usually ample free parking at the rear of the establishment. However on Saturday evenings and Sunday lunch times these places are heaving with customers, so avoid the crowds, go early and if possible ring and reserve a table. The Stag and Hounds is no exception but fortunately...

The Anarkali - Super-Curry-is-Delicious-Prices-Aren't-Atrocious!

Advantages: Excellent value for money, good quality food, no charge for corkage
Disadvantages: Toilets a bit "basic", to be avoided during Hampden events

...The Anarkali Indian restaurant on Victoria Road in Glasgow is superb for a budget night out. Situated in the Southside of Glasgow, it is an old fashioned curry house. The décor doesn?t seem to have been updated in the last twenty years and the toilets are ?compact? and basic to say the least. It?s a bit on the dark side inside, but the tables, cutlery and glasses are clean and hygienic looking. Probably seating approximately 50 patrons at most, it is not the largest of establishments but it is generally well staffed, usually very busy, and, by my observations, it does a roaring takeaway trade also. It is also VERY busy if there is an event on at Hampden, but to my mind, booking is recommended any weekend to avoid disappointment. Cast your apprehensions regarding the interior aside though as the food is...

Holy Grail, Thy Name Is Haggis Nachos...

Advantages: excellent food, friendly staff, no snobbery, great menu, great food!
Disadvantages: steak done medium instead of medium-rare... not wheelchair accessible

...and two courses each and the restaurant was starting to fill up during our meal (there was a party of about 16 people who came in at one point!) but we were never once kept waiting too long, and were on our way home just over an hour after we arrived. This truly is a hidden gem, that I feel won't be kept secret for very long - I really cannot recommend Brodies enough! Even with my steak issue, I LOVED it here! If you're in Glasgow, give it a go - I'm sure you'll like it as much as I did :) + MORE INFORMATION! + Brodies Bar Restaurant 53 West Regent Street Glasgow G2 2AE 0141 352 9888 www.bebo.com/barbrodies - Official Bebo Site! www.barbrodies.co.uk - Official Site...

Café Hula - Great Homecooked Food in the Heart of Glasgow

Advantages: Great food, good value, handy for Theatre Royal, relaxed atmosphere, excellent service
Disadvantages: None really. But you might get undercharged!

...We first went to Café Hula because of its proximity to the Theatre Royal - it is literally across the road - and we wanted a quick bite to eat pre-show. We went back because the food and service were so good. Café Hula décor is rustic; with its rough hewn wooden tables and chairs and plentiful foliage it is perfect for relaxed and casual dining. They have a couple of large farmhouse kitchen-style tables, ideal for dining with a larger group of friends. There is a glass-fronted mezzanine level with additional seating upstairs - this restaurant is larger than first impressions might suggest. They are close to the University and mindful of this they offer lunchtime deals and an extensive made-to-order sandwich and salad takeaway service. However, they do attract the pre-theatre crowd in their droves too and we have even...

Perfect Apartment in Glasgow City Centre

Advantages: Perfect location
Disadvantages: None

...We stayed at this 4-star apartment hotel on 19th of December 2008 for 1 night before we head to Isle of Bute for our friend?s wedding. We flew into Glasgow International Airport from London City Airport with British Airways. It took about 1 hour and 35 minutes get reach Glasgow. As soon as we reached Glasgow Airport, we went straight to the car rental desk to pick up our car. Once you come out of the arrival hall you will see several car rental companies right in front of you. The distance to the hotel from the Airport is about 11miles and it should really take about 20 minutes to reach the hotel. But we took over an hour to reach our hotel, because the weather was really bad and there was an accident on the road. Just be careful, there are a lot of one-way systems in the city centre, so if you get a turning wrong then it?ll take you...

My strange night in Glasgow

Advantages: Reasonably priced, good location, breakfast ok
Disadvantages: The staff, lack of digital TV

...~~~Intro~~~ Back in August everything was going fantastically, I'd been on a great barge holiday with friends, work was bearable, things with hubby good, and my self-injury charity work going amazingly. I became aware of a self-harm conference in Glasgow on 18th October, and thought that it would be a great networking opportunity. After booking a place. I spent some time while bored at work searching on the Internet for a reasonably priced hotel in Glasgow within walking distance of the train station and the conference venue. There was quite a selection, but it seemed that the Merchant Lodge hotel would suit me nicely in terms of location and cost (£50 B&B). A couple of weeks prior to the event, disaster struck in our charity (perhaps a year down the line when everything is sorted I will review what can go wrong in small...

Glasgow's Alive

Advantages: Vibrant, City of Culture
Disadvantages: None

..., for a typical day?s shopping. There is an eating area at one end of the shopping precinct, although it is only fast food outlets predominantly. There are two restaurants/café?s in John Lewis itself, and Habitat has a nice café too. One of the things I like about this shopping centre, is that if you go up to the top floor, of John Lewis, which is generally just an admin desk, there is usually a local Art Display, and you can purchase originals if you so desire. The Galleries Shopping Centre is at the top of Buchanan Street, at the corner of that Street and Sauchiehall Street, a quite famous shopping area in Glasgow. To be honest, Sauchiehall Street isn?t that different from anywhere else in the country, and I always head down Buchanan Street to the shops there. However, if you do head down Sauchiehall Street, you will find one of the town...

Abode hotel glasgow.

Advantages: Fantastic hotel. Trendy. Perfect place to stay when you visit glasgow.
Disadvantages: NOT A THING.

...Well i must say what a wonderful hotel. Me and my girlfriend booked a night at Abode glasgow on new years eve and loved it so much we booked a second night in the morning just after we enjoyed the best breakfast we had for years. We both live in glasgow but wanted a nice hotel to go back to after enjoying the new year celebrations in george square. We just could not be botherd with the hasle getting home. It is bad enough getting a taxi on a normal saturday night, think what it would be like with ten thousand all trying to get a taxi at the one time. I loved the way the hotel has been decorated. It is very modern but they have kept alot of the old features. Including a very old life in the centre of the hotel, with a very modern water feature flowing right down the lift framework. I think it is fantastic that they have kept all...
