...The opinion I am writing about is Gloria Estefans, "Anything For You". I like this song because it was my first special song for me and my first girlfriend Gill when I was 15. We listened to it a lot during that year it was sort of an incentitive to keep talking and loving each other. I bought this song because I wanted to remember her for we broke up a year later. We drifted apart and ran out of things to say to each other, in other words ironically we stopped talking funny hey how things work out. I moved away to look after my alcoholic grandad with my mum and dad and well.... It was too far away from her so she finished with me :-(.. It's the type of song that reminds you of the good old days. Sort of like a walk down memory lane. When I saw this song listed on Ciao I knew I had to write about it. My days... Read review

Advantages: Overlooking the sea, 2 minute walk to Puerto Rico

...This was by far the nicest hotel I have had the pleasure of staying in on holiday. Gloria Palace sits high on a cliff overlooking the ocean. On our arrival at 11pm the dining room was still set up for ourselves and another 4 guests and it was lovely to sit and eat some food and have a couple of drinks after our long journey. Rooms were immaculate with a huge bed, sitting area and fitted wardrobes the length of one wall. The bathroom was again immaculate with bath shower toilet & double sinks. Staff were very friendly and accomodating especially the barman in the cocktail lounge who was so funny he could have been the entertainment! The decor in the hotel was amazing, like you had walked into a palace, marbled floors, and gold everywhere. The reception area was huge with numerous small shops, huge seating area with big comfy settees... Read review

...This is my first venture into the world of the album review, so please be gentle with me! However, I would really appreciate some feedback via comments to know what I could improve for future reference. Forgive me for quoting lyrics from each individual track, but given that it’s the lyrics that make this album special for me, I felt it important to include them. I could describe my music tastes as “eclectic”, but I’ll stick to saying they’re just very middle of the road and somewhat varied, with a penchant for strong female vocalists – e.g. Dido, Annie Lennox, Alison Moyet, Gloria Estefan, to name but a few. I like what I like and make no excuses for it. I came across the album “Destiny” by Gloria Estefan several years ago. In fact, I think I bought it in some kind of boot sale type thing at work. Advantages: Cathy Moriarty, Bonnie Bedelia; Sharon Stone gives her all, as usual. It isn't enough.
Disadvantages: Miscasting celebrated: laughably unmenacing Northam, Scott too nice; dull pacing, annoying kid, forced accents.

...'Gloria', released to disappointed audiences, Stone and Lumet fans in 1999, cannot muster any arguments to defend its right to exist. To think that it was * the * Sidney Lumet, director of 'Dog Day Afternoon', 'Serpico' and 'Network', to name just a few iconic American films of the 70s, who was responsible for this stinker, too. Save for the ordinary cinematography, everything else in it is wrong. An ex-con who took the rap for her boyfriend Kevin (Jeremy Northam), Gloria (Sharon Stone) finishes her three-year term in Florida and heads for New York City to get help from the old boyfriend. Just so happens that Kevin and his gang have a six-year-old boy on their hands, since they've just wiped out the boy's entire family that morning, and the boy supposedly has a computer diskette containing a lot of information... Advantages: Amazing tale of hope and inspiration
Disadvantages: sadly we all know how it ends

...Over Christmas, I must have been into Boots, and to the Perfume everyday. All for a spray of perfume. The perfume in question was Cacharel’s Gloria. It’s quite a new fragrance, that hasn’t been on the market very long. I’m against buying myself perfume, I always wait until someone buys it for me! Anyway, I got a Gloria set off my bloke for Xmas, as part of my present. The name of the perfume supposedly comes from a famous song from the 60's. The prices and sizes range in this product, the bottle sizes are 30ml, 50ml and 100ml, the bottle I got was 50ml, and I also got a bottle of bath oil with it. The bottle I got would cost £25 on Scentrepoint.co.uk and the 30ml costs £21 and the 100ml, £39. The perfume costs approximately the same in boots (I noticed!) but I know my bloke bought it from House... Read review

Advantages: A gripping thriller with a few twists

...and her son slipping away from her. So, how am I going to sum up this book well in one word, wow. All in all it's 309 pages long and after reading the first couple of chapters in bed one night I was so desperate to see what was happening I finished the rest of the book in one sitting! Eagerly I turned the pages, finding myself caring about this character and hating her evil husband, I wanted to scream at the people who foolishly trusted Dexter, who believed him and had I been watching it on the television rather then playing it out in my own mind I have no doubt I would have done. The author Gloria Murphy has the rare talent of being able to draw you in from the first sentence and keep you enthralled until the last.
