See the deer, the house, the grounds and eat in the tearoom
Advantages: Lovely visit, good cause
Disadvantages: Expensive but it is a charity and free with membership
... Dyrham Park Review
Dyrham Park is a National Trust attraction in Gloucestershire. The attraction includes an old mansion, massive gardens and lands which have deer for you to see, a tearoom and a shop. There is quite a lot to see here and it is an enjoyable visit especially if you have a National Trust membership card.
The grounds are massive and according to the National Trust there is 274 acres of them! There is quite a long walk to the house from the entrance but it is beautiful. There were also some of the deer on the way up to the house which are well worth taking photos of. You then see the house which looks brilliant and very impressive. If you are disabled, can`t walk well or simply lazy you can also get a shuttle bus to the house which is a nice little feature.
The house is from the late 17th century and was...

My University
Advantages: great place, great people
Disadvantages: new so still improving
...Introduction
I have been a student at the University of Gloucestershire for 2 years now. I am on a year out, but will be going back to do my 3rd and final year to complete my Business Management degree. My time at the university has been very memorable and I am looking forward to going back and finishing my course. I have thought about whether I made the right decision choosing this university over the large number of other universities available around the country, but I do not regret the decision I have made. I have made many great friends and love the environment of the university.
Campuses
The University of Gloucestershire is split up into four campuses: Park, Francis Close Hall, Oxstalls and Pittville.
Park campus is known as 'The Business School'. Those studying any business related courses, hospitality...

Its the people that make it what it is.
Advantages: very diverse student population, free bus travel, attractive campuses
Disadvantages: computers arn't updated, spread across 2towns, poor quality halls.
...hi, im a 2nd year student at the University of Gloucestershire studying Events Management and Sports Development. I have had a fantastic 2years hear so far and wouldn't change where i have lived what i have dont or how involved with the uni i have been for anything.
I lived in Gloucestershire in a halls called Upper Quay during my 1st year. I loved these halls because the way that they were laidout created a fantastic community spirit in these halls and helped me to make a lot of friends which is afterall what the 1st year of uni is about. The halls themselves are one of the nicer onces at the university( very similar to Shaftsbury halls at FCH campus) however they are very easily damaged, many things don't work all the time, ie heating or hot water and the cookers and overs are never working in all the flats all the time. This...

Preying Birds
Advantages: Great day out
Disadvantages: None
...?So where are we going today mummy??
?You?ll see!?
So we wended our way down narrow country lanes, not particularly well signposted and with absolutely nowhere to go should an over enthusiastic local come zooming around the corner.
?Are you sure were not lost Mummy??
?Well no actually, not 100% sure, but we?ll keep going for a bit?
Then we saw it! The girls reaction when we turned into the car park was amazing, Ellen my 5 year old is a huge bird lover and when we went to Centerparcs last month she chose to donate the money that her choice of activity would have cost to the RSPB, as long as I took her to the hides they have there. So when she realised where we were, well!
The national birds of prey centre is based in Newent in Gloucestershire, the nearest motorways are the M5 J11 or the M50, but as I mentioned...

BKC Poor service
Advantages: Kitchen units made to measure, good quality materials
Disadvantages: Poor service after they receive your deposit
...BKC Kitchens
Bespoke Kitchen Company
Gloucestershire
Good initial sales service, and the Bespoke Kitchen Company (BKC) promises quality made to measure kitchen units, which is what I needed and which they delivered.
However, once they accepted my deposit their customer service was poor:
- they did not arrange for a date for the survey until I chased them;
- BKC did not forward the surveyor's drawing for my authorisation until I chased them;
- they did not deliver on time, delaying by a week twice, thus affecting the builder's schedule;
- they refused phone calls after delivery, making too many excuses that the staff were on another line, and not ringing back as promised.
The units were solidly built. However:
- the installers kept noting that there were inconsistencies with the units (different depths) making installation...

Wonderful Wiltshire
Advantages: Easy access to everything South West
Disadvantages: Not very close to the sea
...I have lived in Wiltshire most of my life. It is home to seven White horses and of course the well known Stone Henge. In addition to Stone Henge we have Avebury which is another Stone Phenomena as well as other attractions.
Parts of Wiltshire are situated close to the M4 corridor enabling easy access to London and Wales.
The county is bordered by Somerset, Dorset, Hamphire and Gloucestershire. There are many pretty towns in Wiltshire, Bradford-on-Avon, Malmesbury, Corsham, the city of Salisbury with it's beautiful catherdral and of course historic Lacock with it's Abbey. this has been a very popular venue for filming for period dramas such as Cranford.
From my little town, I have easy access to Bath and Bristol which are excellent for shopping and to experience stunning Georian Architecture. The Royal Circus in Bath is...

Tewkesbury, come visit it!
Advantages: Lovely town with a mix of old and new
Disadvantages: none
...Tewkesbury is a little town located in Gloucestershire, Tewkesbury sits on the confluence (where rivers meet) of the river seven and river avon. Tewkesbury is a historic town, with lots of timber framed buildings and a maze of little alleys. Tewkesbury also has a 11th century Abbey.
There is lots to see and do in tewkesbury. Walks along the river, boat trips, shopping, visiting museums and the abbey. There is a market twice a week on a wednesday and a saturday. There is a local swimming pool, health suite and gym, located in the town.
There are loads of pubs:
The white bear
Ye olde black bear
The albion
The anchor
The britania
The nottingham arms
The george
The plough
The royal hop pole wetherspoons
