Daddys Girl
Review of Should one parent stay at home full-time? by
stephkc84
Advantages: Seeing your child grow
Disadvantages: lack of money, social life
...I am just going to make this a short review to tell you the most annoying thing about being a stay at home mum.
I have a 17 month old daughter and spend all day following her around - cleaning up after her, dirty nappies, potty training, cooking and everything that goes with being a stay at home mummy. I do not mind doing this as I also get all the good parts too, watching your child do something you have taught them is far more rewarding than being called into the bosses office and given a 'star'!!
The thing that really winds me up is that from the moment my daughter wakes up her first word of the day is ddaa-gn (daddy), this alone would not be too bad but then it continues,
Brushing her teeth - 'Daa-gn'
Down the stairs - 'Daa-gn'
Through the living room - 'Daa-gn'
She then looks in every corner where Daddy hides when they play...

Everything you need to know about Gardening
Review of Amateur Gardening by
Procumbens
Advantages: Weekly issue, good value, plenty of tips and advice, free gifts
Disadvantages: Sells out quickly if you don't get to the stores early on Thursdays
...It was only by chance that I bought an issue of GN as it always looked just like a newspaper. I could not believe the information that was packed into it for only £1.30. I look forward to GN each week and can't wait to read all of the information.
There are weekly articles on certain types of plants by experts from various associations e.g. dahlias, fuchsias etc. which take you through the growing year.
There are excellent tips, question and answer pages, jobs for the week and month and articles by Professionals and Amateurs.
There have been lots of information on Garden design and decoration which gives you new ideas which are quite simple to carry out.
The language used is 'down to earth' and easy to understand.
Each week throughout Spring and Summer there are free gifts - often packets of seeds worth as much as the cost...

A musical break through!
Review of Contraband (Parental Advisory) [PA] - Velvet Revolver by
x_nic_x
Advantages: .
Disadvantages: .
...When Guns n' Roses split up, the world of rock n roll was devastated! Seeing axl rose struggle to make it with a new version of GnR was almost unbearable. But when Slash, Duff and Matt teamed up with ex stone temple pilot's singer Scott Weiland no-one expected the final outcome of 'Contraband'. The album features many songs sounding similar to that of GnR, but also lingers on a sound of metal with hard rhythms and intricate drumming. The album on a whole is excellent and can be listened to for hours on end without becoming tired of it. Some sogs do not sound entirely original, however with the sound of GnR mixed with Stone Temple Pilots, Velvet Revolver have come out on Top.
Tracks:
1. Suckertrain Blues - a catchhy song with good rythm and lyrics. typical example of velvet revolver work with an excellent solo by slash, and lyrics...

GN Netcom Headset: Worth the money?
Review of GN Netcom GN 9350 Headset by
joshm12
Advantages: Great look and feel to the headset, remarkable sound quality
Disadvantages: Rather pricey and poor battery life
...THis GN Netcom headset, is a beautiful piece of machinery. It has a stuning design and prefectly easy to use. I simply opened the box andhardlyhad to use the instruction manual. I connceted it up and i was off!
the sound quality is phenomenal, far better than any headsets that phone companies supply you with... i could my the person crystal clear, and i felt that he was right there with me.
the only downside, is that the battery life, i felt was rather lacking. Not long after i had bought the product, i felt i had to keep on charging it every 10 or so hours, which i felt was rather ridiculous. however, i put up with it becuase i liked the design and how easy it was to use.
Furthermore, the dual connection the comes with this headset is remarkable and the technology that goes into this headset is so robust!
One major downside...

Appetite for destruction
Review of Appetite For Destruction [PA] - Guns N' Roses by
x_nic_x
Advantages: easy to listen to
Disadvantages: none i have come across
...Appetite for destruction being the first album to be released by Guns n Roses made a very successful entry into the world of Rock n Roll, and set the scene for more musical brilliance to come.
GnR found it hard to obtain a recording contract in their early days, not because the musical talent wasnt there, but because nobody wanted to have to deal with them - 5 reckless young guys who had habits of drinking and drug abuse wouldnt be easy to attend to! Finally setteling a contract with Geffen records, GnR were able to record their blasting first album that would change rock history!
Track list:
1. Welcome to the jungle - A single released by GnR with an insane and possibly disturbing video to some, this introduces the album to fans in true GnR style featuring crazy guitar solos, insane drumming and sexually based lyrics. The ringing sound...

Where the girls are green+the grass is pretty..
Review of Greatest Hits [Digipak] [PA] - Guns N' Roses by
miggimoo
Advantages: Plenty of massive hits
Disadvantages: You've probably got them all already
...At one time, Guns n Roses were THE biggest band in the world bar none. At the height of their popularity, everybody in the world knew who they were, and they could fill stadiums with thousands upon thousands of screaming fans. Nowadays unfortunately, GnR have become a little bit of a joke, everybody wondering, (but not really caring) if and when their new album is going to come out.
Axl Rose is the only remaining member of GnR, yet he still insists in carrying the name on, and insists that the bands new album 'The Chinese democracy' is going to come out soon. He's been saying this for years. The other band members - Slash, Duff McKagan, and Matt Sorum, have all left, fed up with Axl's huge ego and grip over the band, and have formed another band Velvet Revolver.
Throughout their time, GnR released only 5 albums, and 1...

Me and my tank!!
Review of Suzuki GN 125 by
raincheck_uk
Advantages: reliable, hard working, low fuel consumption, great commuter
Disadvantages: Classic Suzuki paint work.
...Five and a half years i have been riding now and the first 4 of those years were spent on mopeds until one day i decided that no matter how long i tried to put it off for i was going to have to learn gears if i was to become a 'real biker'! i booked the cbt and away i went. The GN 125 is the bike i took my training on. I was very nervous at first, but once i got on the bike i started to relax a bit. The bike has a very natural riding position wich doesnt put strain on your arms or back. The day went well and as a result i passed!
After a month or two i finally came accross a GN 125 at one of the local bike shops. It was one of a batch of ex training bikes. I wanted it as soon as i saw it its not flash looking but with its naked fairing and single lamp id say its quite retro. I just did a straight swap for the bike i was riding...

Jabra GN5035 multimedia USB headphones
Review of JABRA GN5035 Headset by
ilaskey
Advantages: Sound quality, long cable, remote control
Disadvantages: Remote too far down the cable
...For anyone who makes a lot of calls Skype is a wonderful things assuming the person they are calling is also on Skype. Even calls to people with normal telephones can be done cheaply and easily, especially when used in conjunction with Skype's ability to embed links in web pages within your browser allowing you to call a number on a web site just by clicking on it.
Of course, such activities do require some sort of speaker and microphone arrangement on your PC and in most cases, it's far easier to make use of one of the huge range of headphone and microphone combinations out there.
Jabra have a range of products in this area but here I'm looking at their GN5035 model which is well priced at around £25 or less and boasts a noise cancelling microphone, 40mm speaker units for extended bass and a remote control on its USB cable...

Suzuki Gn125
Review of Suzuki GN 125 by
Andy1750
Advantages: fuel economy, price
Disadvantages: corrosion, depreciation, acceleration, top speed
...The original intention was to by a Suzuki Van Van. However, I took my CBT on a GN125 and decided that it wouldn't be a bad first bike to learn on. It's also significantly cheaper than a Van Van and top speed is higher.
Bought the bike new back in April 2006 for £1400. The bike was a grey import - Suzuki no longer officially supply this bike to the UK market. As a result the speedometer is in km/h which is a little annoying. That's the only difference that I am aware of from a standard UK bike. I used the bike daily until recently to ride too and from the station.
The bike rides quite well bearing in mind its size. Acceleration is obviously poor compared to a bigger bike but not as bad as you might think. It could certainly outrun the average car from standstill. It really starts to struggle once you get up to 50mph...
