However, where 'bad debts' do occur, Zopa use the same collections procedures as the big banks to recover as much of lenders' money as quickly as possible. Zopa offers an insurance product (optional) to borrowers, which would protect them against not being able to maintain their payments, for example if they were to fall ill or lose their job through no fault of their own. For both borrwers and lenders, the advantages are clear - and it's nice to think that your interest payments are going more directly to savers rather than being caught up in the (very expensive) running costs of the big banks. Cahoot flexible loans.

Advantages: I was accepted where I have been refused elsewhere.
Disadvantages: None yet really!

..., but it takes 4 working days for other bank accounts. I then transfered £700 into my partner's account, which I owe, and they were pleased to at last receive. I am now in the process of transfering the balance of my Barclaycard. If you transfer a balance like this, you receive £125 (I think?) off your next holiday. Going to look into this, sounds like it can only be a good thing! So far, I would highly recommend Cahoot as a seriously good option if you want a loan! Will keep you posted of course!...

...I applied for an unsecured loan with Halifax, I really wasn't sure where to start as I'm new to the loans market - I'd never considered one before but I was looking for a new flat and wanted the cash for a deposit. I think it is wise to compare loans before you choose because there are so many out there!! I used financial comparison sites to help me, one I used was Which Way To Pay (www.whichwaytopay.com) , they have a really good breakdown system of each loan. Halifax were straigh to the point and I was happy with the no repayments for the first 3 months system as that was perfect for getting settled in my new flat! Plus they are good for the fact that the monthly repayments are fixed so you don't get caught further down the line!...

...expensive house and had never missed or been late with a payment, picture decided to change the rules to suit themselves. As it turned it we couldnt sell our house anyway, so decided to re-mortgage as our fixed rate deal was coming to an end and thought we would pay off our mortgage and get another £5,000 for home improvements. Guess what? Picture want the lot! talk about moving the goalposts! they moved the whole field! when I asked if we could reduce our insurance protection as our loan was being reduced, we were told no, because it was a separate loan! so beware anyone thinking of going with picture, they will change the rules just to suit themselves, and theres not much you can do about it...

...I have always found Barclays in general to be great to me and very helpful. I use online banking daily and find it excillent for finding out my bank balance. I used the new loan site and applied for a £500 loan, I was shocked to find I had been decliend. Yet a month before I was offered a £1000 loan. I cannot understand why they throw money at you when you do not need it, and yet when I am need a loan it is never there. I find the site itself quite user friendly but I wish they would make the site a little more fun by having competitions etc....
