Goa a must see place
Advantages: read opp
Disadvantages: read opp
...Well moving on from my Gujarat experience, I still have many more places in India to review, as you can see a hell of a lot in 6 odd weeks. My next destination was one that I always wanted to go to, even as a child, however only experienced it in 2005, we went to the beautiful and tranquil place that is Goa. I had always heard such great stories about Goa, the people, the landscape, the whether etc, and my family had gone many times before I was born, and hearing them bragging about their experiences only made me more determined to visit it the next chance I got. This review, will focus about my time in Goa, I spent four days there and managed to see and do a hell of a lot, ill try giving some tips about what to see and do, the culture and lifestyle, some historical background and so forth, like many of my other reviews, so ENJOY...

~*GOA*~ Gorgeous Or Amazing?
Advantages: Hot, Stunning views, Lots to Do, Fun, Perfect for a tan!
Disadvantages: None
...~*GOA*~ Gorgeous Or Amazing?
Goa - the land of all natural beauty. Somewhere where you can just escape to and feel like you've left the planet. A holiday which once you embark upon will be totally unforgettable. A great luxury five star experience awaits you at the rich sandy beaches looking out at the far horizon sitting above the tranquil Indian Ocean. There was so much to do and so much to experience yet only four days to do so. This is my experience?
Well it was in the middle of February when we set off out to Goa, and unfortunately we had to catch a flight from Mumbai to Goa, and for those of you that know Mumbai will realise that traffic in London doesn't even compare to that of traffic in Mumbai. But an unpleasant experience it was catching a plane from Mumbai. It was a mini jet flight and probably held no more...

Got To Go To Goa
Advantages: cheap to eat, excellent weather, lovely locals
Disadvantages: some ares poverty stricken, visa costs £30
...My best friend and myself visited Goa in March this year. It was our first time here; we had a fantastic time and would certainly return there.
Before we left
Before we left for Goa, we were required to buy a Visa. This cost us £30. We downloaded the forms from the Internet and sent them to the Visa office in London. Our visa took about 2 weeks to arrive.
The Flight
The flight was 10 hours from Gatwick airport to Goa. From the airport our hotel was about an hours drive. Although we were not looking forward to the journey as we just wanted to get to our hotel the drive turned out to be excellent as we got to see various parts of Goa that we wouldn't have necessarily seen if we hadn't made the journey.
The Airport
The staff at the airport were very efficient. Our baggage came out within 5 minutes of us arriving which was...

Goa (India)
Advantages: The cost of living, Great food, weather(pick your season).
Disadvantages: Having to pay bribes to the Police to get home every night.
...Having just spent the best part of a month out in Goa. My home was slap bang in the middle of Anjuna market that kicks into life every Wednesday at 05:00 in the morning. I feel the place has had its day. Yes the state is full of wonderful Portugese churches, a million and one palm trees, but its not at all beautiful.
For me Goa is now spoiled. Now that the large package tour operaters have their foothold and the developers have raped the land its better to go elsewhere. Don't get me wrong Goa has some nice places. Really nice, friendly locals and ok beaches. Though they're not a patch on the beaches to be found in S E Asia, i.e. Thailand, Malaysia and Vietnam. Also, Goa like the rest of India has a big dog problem, making it unsafe to wander the streets and lanes after dark for fear of getting bitten by a rabid mut hellbent on seeking...

My Experience with Goa !!!!!
Advantages: Becahes, Churches and Water Sports
Disadvantages: Crowd at Popular sites
...I will not tell you about the Kms and the Location , rather i will tell you what you should do an dhow would you feel......yes, afterall its about sharing the experience!!!
My Experience with Goa was in October 2006 with my family. Its a place where you can anjoy alone or with your family or when you are on Honeymoon. Means its a complete package.
The main highlights of the place are the BEACHES, which are spread all around in the State. There are numerous beaches and some which deserve worth mention are :
Vagator
Palolem
Candolim
Baga
Ajanta
I would suggest that avaoid the rush at the Candolim and Vagator, which are not-so-clean, and enjoy the lovely beauty at the Palolem Beach.
If you are a Water - Sport savvy then you will like the Beach near to the Taj resort. The Para-Gliding will make your nerves full...

Go for Goa
Advantages: nice people, weather atmosphere
Disadvantages: food can be iffy
...A couple of years ago I went to Goa for a fortnight. I stayed in an all-inclusive hotel on the Bogmalo beach.
The beaches are wonderful, and although the hotel was big there were plenty of secluded spots to be found.
The locals try and sell their wares on the beach, there was an old lady selling bannanas, and a group of girls who asked me to come and visit their "shop" which was virtually a tent on the beach containing carpets, sarongs and trinkets.
Over the back of the hotel was a small village, the locals there are genuinely pleased to see you. We made friends with a family who ran a little shop selling post-cards, sweets etc they also sent all our pics off for developing and had them back more or less same day so we took all our photos home with us.
The man who had the shop had all his family...

Beautiful and Relaxing Goa
Advantages: Very cheap, Great variety of food, friendly people
Disadvantages: Dusty, mad traffic, electricity cuts out
...If you want a long haul holiday that is not too expensive then Goa is the place for you. It is not full of nightclubs and rowdy people (although there are places that you can go if you like that kind of thing). I stayed in a place called Calangute just down the road from Baga (which a few people have heard of) It is a resort centre about an hour from the airport but only 400m from the beach. It has chemists, supermarkets, subway, domino's pizza, internet cafe's and all the little souvenir stalls and market stalls that you would associate with a "resort". There is also a large selection of bars and restaurants serving food from the traditional curry to chinese, mexican, english, thai and everything in between. There is a good selection of vegetarian restaurants which offer wonderful dishes and the seafood is to die for! You can have...

Goa Chaotic but Chilled
Advantages: Cheap, Wonderful people, Good food, Plenty to See, Weather
Disadvantages: Poverty, Mosquitoes
...and bought most of our presents while we were there excellent bargains if you haggle hard(we set prices in our own heads and walked away, usually to be called back). The atmosphere is wonderful and it really deserves a full night, good food, live bands and bars when we return in November we will definitely definitely go back.
Overall an excellent holiday, lively but still really chilled. The sights and sounds need to be seen to be believed will return this November as there is still so much we want to see.
Tips
Haggle hard (especially with taxi drivers) , buy mosquito repellant from the chemist in Goa (less than a quid) Eat and drink where the long stayers are(people that go to Goa for 2 or 3 months every year) Don't take a lot of luggage, you can buy most things at a fraction of British prices(t-shirts, shorts, medicines etc) Take...

Make Merry with Feni in Goa
Advantages: lots of beaches
Disadvantages: litter
...Goa has a special place in my memories. It is the place where I met my husband and also because this was my first expedition alone. I had heard that the new year eve is celebrated with much fun and frolic in Goa.As I had been selected as a lecturer in a college and had been saving money for something special, I decided why not take a trip to Goa.I found that people in North India are much intruding and misbehaving towards a lone female traveller. Though I didn't face such problem in Goa.
Goan history:
Often known as 'The Rome of the East', Goa was ruled by a great number of Indian kingdoms and dynasties from the 4th century onwards. The name 'Goa' is derived from the Konkani (The Goan Language) word 'Goyan', which means a patch of tall grass. Myth logically, Goa's origin is ascribed to Parshurama, a God of the Hindu pantheon.Goa...

Goa - an amazing 'must visit' place
Advantages: Great weather, friendly people, great prices, lots to do and see
Disadvantages: Malaria tablets, humid at night, bugs
...This was our first visit to India and we were apprehensive, especially after reading about the 'culture shock' and the bureaucracy of the airport. Needless to say we experienced both! But, it only took us a couple of days to settle in and we had a fantastic holiday. All in all, we found Goa to be a wonderful charming place.
The food is delicous and Baga has some fantastic restaurants with menus to suit all tastes. If you came to Baga on an all inclusive holiday you would be missing out. Our favourites were Lucky Star Shack at the bottom of Tito's Lane whose BBQ night is a must, The Ritz Shack in Calangute/Candolim, Fiesta Restaurant on Tito's Lane, Cavala, East Meets West, Kim Faa Chinese and The Hot Plate on CSM Lane. All great food and service at unbelievably cheap prices.
After exploring the resort, I would say that our hotel...
