The places best for visit depend on your personal interest like:

Golkunda,Konark,Hyderabad-South india
Gujarat,mumbai-west india

Goa (India)
Review of Goa (India) by
Jarrac
Advantages: The cost of living, Great food, weather(pick your season).
Disadvantages: Having to pay bribes to the Police to get home every night.
...Having just spent the best part of a month out in Goa. My home was slap bang in the middle of Anjuna market that kicks into life every Wednesday at 05:00 in the morning. I feel the place has had its day. Yes the state is full of wonderful Portugese churches, a million and one palm trees, but its not at all beautiful.
For me Goa is now spoiled. Now that the large package tour operaters have their foothold and the developers have raped the land its better to go elsewhere. Don't get me wrong Goa has some nice places. Really nice, friendly locals and ok beaches. Though they're not a patch on the beaches to be found in S E Asia, i.e. Thailand, Malaysia and Vietnam. Also, Goa like the rest of India has a big dog problem, making it unsafe to wander the streets and lanes after dark for fear of getting bitten by a rabid mut hellbent on seeking...

Paradise Of Beaches
Review of Goa (India) by
majeedkazi
Advantages: Food, Beaches, Fort, People, oh so many
Disadvantages: None
...Goa - place of beaches, My fav spot in India, Most you might have already been there and know almost everything about Goa but this can be Usefull for someone who has not yet been to this place, its paradise for all beach lovers.
Its the 25th State in India, Panjim being its capital. Earlier portuguese did settled over here in Goa so you could still see the construction and work done by portuguese over here, the Portuguese culture. it attracts many tourists every year, and the new celebrations are just too good over here by the beach.
It has Basilica Of Bom Jesus, it has the Mortal remains of St. Francis Xavier. Goa is situated along the Konkan belt with Maharashtra, it shares Border with Maharashtra 7 karnataka.
Vasco Da Gama was the first to European to find india through see route, there is Place in goa by his name and its known...

Star of India
Review of Goa (India) by
murky5
Advantages: Wonderful climate, friendly people, value for money
Disadvantages: some accomodation not up to 5 star standards
...If you are looking for a holiday where you can be sure of a friendly welcome, good food, great climate and scenery, which won't cost you a Kings Ransom then I advise you to check out Goa.
For those who do not know,Goa is a province of India situation about halfway up the west coast of this great country. It is different from the rest of India in many ways, due to the fact that for a large period of History, Goa was under Portugese rule. The buildings and the people reflect this difference.
Travelling time from the UK is around 10 1/2 hours which will include a fuel stop at somewhere like Bahrain in the Persian Gulf.
Upon your arrival at the airport the differences between the UK and India are easily identifiable. The lack of apparent organisation.I say apparent because actually things have a way of sorting themselves out before your eyes...

India, Not a Country, But an Experience
Review of General: India by
atbbiz
Advantages: Emerging Nation.Silent Revolution
Disadvantages: Lack of Dynamic Government
...Unlike many of my co-ciao members who have described their experiences about India, I shall distance myself from just providing information about places, advice or guidance, but I would like to bring to fore the experience that makes a country called India and what keeps it going.
India, Not a country, But an Experience. I can bet on that, I have lived in India for 25 years and have travelled across the globe a good few times and had the hospitality of many countries and cultures. The diversity in every country mesmerised me and the uniqueness in every country fed my curiosity in exploring the world. India, by itself is diverse. Any public speaker, any politician, any person speaking about India will use the term " Integrity in Diversity" without fail. This concept has been coined only a few decades ago, but summarises the essence...

Where might you be going this summer
Review of Andaman and Nicobar Islands (India) by
mdtt1983
Advantages: It's cool, its chilled, its crazy and totally unforgettable
Disadvantages: It can be expensive (not always)
...about people being planted with drugs, bribed and sometimes jailed.
Goa is the beach party capital, and apparently there’s always a big New Years Eve do at the ruins at Hampi in Karnataka.
I left around June time so the weather was extreme and sometimes unbearable. Heatwaves are known to reach 50 degrees plus! So be prepared. Apparently the best weather is around the winter months when it’s a lot cooler.
If your going for a while, it is possible to get a six month tourist visa for India. Download the forms from www.hcilondon.org/visaindx.htm. It costs round £30 and takes a few hours to get issued (head to the The Postal Visa Section, High Commission of India, India House, London WC2B 4NA, tel 020 7836 8484).
I needed a permit for the Andaman Islands, which I got on arrival when I flew by plane. They’re free but if you go by ferry...

to fly within India
Review of Air Sahara by
traveller55
Advantages: good quality with good price
Disadvantages: -
...Sahara web site you can book and buy only tickets for Economy class.
Unfortunately passengers that are not of Indian nationality or are not legal residents of India pay higher price than Indian citizens.
I have flown, in Sahara Royal class, from Mumbai (Bombay) to Goa and I paid Euro 240 return; and from Mumbay to Kolkata (Calcutta) for Euro 296 one way. Undoubtedly low prices with superior services if compared with European routes of same flight time.
If I was an Indian citizen I could pay only Euro 120 and 104 respectively.
Finally an airline to use to fly within India or to Nepal or Sri Lanka departing from India.
A reliable airline, with a modern fleet well maintained, that offer a superior service along with on-time performance....

Make Merry with Feni in Goa
Review of Goa (India) by
ananya123
Advantages: lots of beaches
Disadvantages: litter
...Goa has a special place in my memories. It is the place where I met my husband and also because this was my first expedition alone. I had heard that the new year eve is celebrated with much fun and frolic in Goa.As I had been selected as a lecturer in a college and had been saving money for something special, I decided why not take a trip to Goa.I found that people in North India are much intruding and misbehaving towards a lone female traveller. Though I didn't face such problem in Goa.
Goan history:
Often known as 'The Rome of the East', Goa was ruled by a great number of Indian kingdoms and dynasties from the 4th century onwards. The name 'Goa' is derived from the Konkani (The Goan Language) word 'Goyan', which means a patch of tall grass. Myth logically, Goa's origin is ascribed to Parshurama, a God of the Hindu pantheon.Goa became...

South Goa
Review of Goa (India) by
Sari
Advantages: Cheap, Quieter than the North of Goa, more laid back, good selection of accomodation to suit all pockets
Disadvantages: can sometime be popular with busloads of Indian Tourists
...I have been spending 6 months a year in South Goa for the last 6 years. I stay in a fishing village called Colva which is about 35 minutes from Goa Airport. It is much quieter than the north of Goa but still has some excellent restaurants and bars as well as a small airconditioned disco.
There is a good selection of accomodation ranging in price from budget to luxury. Most rooms have attached bathroom with a shower and toilet with cold water if in budget or hot if in luxury accomodation!
You can get most types of food in Colva including Inclulding Indian, Goan, Chinese and Italian as well as your typical English fayre for those who are not fond of foreign food!
There is a huge stretch of beach which gets better the further you walk either way.
As this is a fishing village, you get the chance to watch the fishermen pulling...

Water and smiles everywhere!
Review of Park Hyatt Goa Resort and Spa, Cansaulim by
MillionMilesAway
Advantages: High standard of rooms, not far from airport, sociable environment.
Disadvantages: The outside of some of the buildings could do with a lick of paint. Price.
...The decorative fountains outside the lobby, the streams and cascades running through the resort, the largest swimming pool in India and the gorgeous Arossim beach. If you don't like water or you have a weak bladder don't come here!
If on the other hand you enjoy top class hotel accommodation, fine food and great service do come here!
After a 20 minute drive from the airport, dodging the odd cow or two along the way, we arrived at the Park Hyatt and were immediately welcomed, seated and presented with a hot towel and cooling fruit drink.
We were given a Park Room (standard room). The room was of a good size, a little dark which was actually quite nice to escape the heat of the day outside. Views were overlooking the gardens and pool area and all rooms have either a balcony or terrace.
The bathroom is one of the best i have seen...
