...I’m very sure the ‘Striding Man’ is famously known around the world to be ‘Johnnie Walker’. I remembered when I first had my Johnnie Walker red label. I even tried before the Black Label and Swing. Nothing comforts my palate like these whiskies does. Now it’s off to a higher standard – The Gold Label. I missed out on the Green label, but I will get back to it in the future. Johnnie Walker is quite my all time favourite. I also remembered the day when I first got my Gold Label. ...Avon ~ Rare Gold ~ Eau De Parfum Rare Gold is a perfume which I have purchased from Avon on several occasions. I really like most of the Avon perfumes because they are reasonably priced and they smell great. When I am choosing a new perfume from the Avon catalogue I either buy the ones which are on special offer or the ones which have nice looking bottles. I bought my first bottle of Rare Gold because it was on special offer and you got three matching bath and beauty products free, which when used compliment and layer the scent of the perfume. A 50 ml bottle of Rare Gold usually costs about £10 although sometimes you might be able to purchase it for less. The cheapest I have paid for a bottle of Rare Gold was £5 because Avon were selling all of the fragrances in the Rare range for £5. Rare Gold is just one of the fragrances... Read review

With the intention of maybe buying one piece of gold jewellery I actually ended up buying a whole lot more! GOLD SOUK EXPERIENCE The thing about the Gold Souk is that there are lines and lines of gold shops, the gold in the showcases resembles a candy shop window, from bangles to necklaces the choice is endless. Designs can be traditional or modern, bold or conservative, chunky or delicate if you have it in mind then its definitely on display. You can even have the type of design you may be looking for made if you are staying for a longer period, although the jewellers do aim to get you your piece of jewellery before you return back home. Advantages: Selection is great, prices- the cheapest or one of the cheapest in the World.
Disadvantages: Too many small shops and traipsing through all of them can be tiresome.

...Location and Travel :- The Gold Souk is in the Deira part of Dubai. If you happen to be staying in Bur Dubai you can take either a bus or a taxi to the Gold Souk. As it is so famous you need not tell the driver the location, he will take you there. From Bur Dubai the easiest way to go is through the Al Shindaga tunnel as you will have to cross the Creek. If you are staying in Deira, it might be either walkable or a short cab drive away. Plenty of local maps are available--the tourist desk at your hotel should be able to provide you with one.When visiting the Gold souk it is also worthwhile to step into the nearby fish market which is really huge and displays a wide array of fish, prawns and crabs(you will be surprised at their different colours). ...I'm usually a Gold Blend girl when it comes to my coffee, it's how I like my coffee and my men - strong, dark and rich. But horrors! In Londis last night there was no Gold Blend and as the only alternatives were Nescafe Black Gold and a revolting looking jar of light brown coffee powder, I plumped for Black Gold with the reasoning that if it's made by Nescafe it must be good. To be honest, I thought I'd tried every variation on Nescafe on the market but I've never heard of Black Gold before. There's nothing on the label to suggest it's a new product so I either need my eyes testing or it's one of those things that isn't too widely available. And considering I went for an eye test on Tuesday, I think I can safely say that this coffee isn't on sale everywhere. Mind you, I do walk around with my eyes closed a lot... The jar... Read review

...Despite what some people say the 1980s were not all that bad a decade. Of course there were the crimes against fashion (not a day goes by where I am grateful that I was not old enough to dress myself during this decade) and the mobile phones that required a special flunky to carry them for you. There were undoubtedly some dodgy records. However we shall ignore those and focus on the good records. In particular Spandau Ballet's "Gold". Now there is a classic song. Sums up the 1980s rather well, in my opinion. And it was probably some time in the 1980s or at least it was closer to the 1980s than the 2000s when I last heard of, or even saw a Gold Bar.
