...There's a song that features on the soundtrack of many of my favourite films that goes: "No matter where we go, London, Paris, Rome, It feels like Anywhere, USA" It's never something I really understood, since to me those three capitals are all very different from each other, and to anywhere in the USA that I've been, but I figured it was written by someone who'd never actually left the States, and who based their assumptions on the Hollywood version of Europe that comes across in films.   Wii Resort For Island Sports

Advantages: Some great mini-games that really show off the MotionPlus accessory
Disadvantages: Expensive to fully kit out two remotes. One or two less compelling mini-games

Get active at Wii Sports Resort.......for a price!

Advantages: fun to play with family and friends, lots of game choices, some really fun games, multiplayer
Disadvantages: very expensive, some potentially boring games, not as well designed as it could be.

Advantages: great fun, great multiplayer capabilities
Disadvantages: possibly the price but other than that nothing!!!!

...Wii sports resort is the next step up from the original wii sports game, only not only is it a step up its a leap forward in the fun factor. With even more sports available its difficult to get bored of this game, and very easy to get addicted to it!!!! There are 12 sports available on the game:- swordplay Wakeboarding Frisbee Archery basketball table tennis golf bowling power cruising canoeing cycling airsports. So far my favourite sports have been the wakeboarding, the frisbee and the table tennis, although i have tried all of the sports on the game and i liked everyone of them.   Meedhupparu: A Pearl of a Resort

Advantages: Stunning beauty, tranquility, dive sites
Disadvantages: Italians on an ice-cream company conference. Err...that's about it.

However, nearly two years later, still childless and facing the prospect of infertility treatment, we decided to spend the (by now unnecessarily large) baby funds on a holiday to cheer ourselves up. We found a last minute deal online to the four-star Meedhupparu Island Resort for the first two weeks in January 2001. The price was around £800 each for full board, which seemed a real bargain. However, we struggled to find the resort in any of the mainstream brochures (including our carrier - JMC) as it only opened in June 2000, so I guess we took a small gamble. The resort is now carried by major operators including First Choice and Thomson, and a similar fourteen night break with Thomson departing from Gatwick on the 1st Jan 2006 would set you back £1,399 each. Good Resort with more games for all ages and abilities

Advantages: Some games are very easy to play (old and young)

...Price: Don't know because it is part of a bundle of the Wii console (Sainsbury's offer of £135.99). It is definitely cheaper than buying the game alone. Overview - 12 games to play, 7 more than Wii Resort and some are easy to play. It is for all ages and abilities. Extra hardware - Wii motion plus included. This add-on supposes to improve the sensing of player movements by the console. The Golden Compass

...souls are called daemons and these walk beside them in the form of animals. Children's daemons can shape shift till they find their true form adults cannot. The gobblers are an unknown entity (the film's bad guys) that are kidnapping children, for what reason we don't know why until later in the film. Lyra's friend Roger gets taken by these which lead Lyra on a quest to find him she is given the golden compass to help her . The other thing I found weird about this film is that the girl Lyra is supposed to be the chosen one but not much is really said about this so it seems to make no impact on you as an audience. One of the villains - Nicole Kidman Mrs Coulter is an evil woman whom we find out is Lyra's mother , usually I am a fan of Kidman ,however I personally found her performance weak and character shallow in this film. Acting/Characters ************* Dakota Blue Richards - Lyra As you watch Dakota on screen, you forget she was only 12 years old at the time of filming, and you certainly see no signs of this being her very first acting job. She commands the viewer's attention with her performance and she challenges us to feel her struggles and triumphs as she experiences them. It is a testament to her talent that, when sharing camera time with the likes of Sam Elliot or in fact Nicole Kidman, she steals the focus.
