The Golden Gate Bridge is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the United States, as well as being a vital artery for the city of San Francisco. But at one time, critics claimed it could never be built. Explore the incredible story behind the world's most famous bridge in this fascinating programme. From the start of the project it looked an impossibility to be able to span the width of the huge San Francisco bay. In addition to this, the shore seemed too unstable and the tides too turbulent to lay stable foundations. Before the bridge was built, the only practical short route between San Francisco and what is now Marin County was by boat across a section of San Francisco Bay. Ferry service began as early as 1820, with regularly scheduled service beginning in the 1840s for purposes of transporting water to San Francisco. The Sausalito Land and Ferry Company service, launched in 1867, eventually became the Golden Gate Ferry Company, a Southern Pacific Railroad subsidiary, the largest ferry operation in the world by the late 1920s. Once for railroad passengers and customers only, Southern Pacific's automobile ferries became very profitable and important to the regional economy. The ferry crossing between the Hyde Street Pier in San Francisco and Sausalito in Marin County took approximately 20 minutes and cost US$1.00 per vehicle, a price later reduced to compete with the new bridge. The trip from the San Francisco Ferry Building took 27 minutes. Watch in awe at incredible footage of its construction against all odds, as storms battered workers and fog shrouded the progressing structure. Learn why engineer Joseph B. ...The golden wonder ballistic from Lush was the last time in my gift set from my Christmas present that was given to me by my friend. This item originally cost £3.25 for 100g. Golden wonder is one of the larger ballistics from Lush so I think that this price is reasonable and I can see why it would be in a gift set. It is one of the more interesting shapes Lush have produced as it looks like...

I have been a big lush fan for about two years now, so this is my second lush christmas and I just adore the lush products at christmas time. To my knowledge this is a brand new bath bomb that was not released last year, its a golden wonder!

Golden and Wonderful!!
Advantages: Great smell, looks brilliant!
Disadvantages: None
...So this is just one of the many lush products that I received for Christmas. I haven't really tried many of the Lush Bath Ballistic range, I usually use the soaps. But now having used some of Lush Ballistic.
This Lush product is called the Golden Wonder, and the name is just perfect for it! The bath product is coated in a golden shimmer dust, which is lovely. As soon as you touch this product...
