...way I suppose!! The rooms are very nice, clean, ample space for clothes, fresh bedding regularly and towels changed every day. Good kitchen area as well, not that it was ever used!! The cleaning staff were friendly. The pool was heated, which was a lovely change, especially since it was only March and it hadn't really had the summer sun on it to warm up. Their was entertainment on for all the family during the week, and a barbeque night one evening. They also arrange trips from the hotel, but as all hotels, they tend to be more expensive booked through the hotel than through the excursion places dotted around. Same with the exchange rate, it is far better going into town and changing money their. Especially with the exchange rate at the moment. Tenerife - The Good The Bad and The Ugly

Advantages: Spectacular and unusual scenery. Duty-free
Disadvantages: Large resorts are lager-lout territory.

These two, in my view, are awful, and visitors going there for the first time expecting something with a foreign feel will be disappointed by the usual rash of "See Leeds v Barcelona live tonite on Sky" cafes and bars. What they do have is beaches. It?s not just us either. The Germans are catered for in a similar way. I suppose Tenerife is like the best and the worst of southern Spain in that respect. Elmwood Golf Course, near Cupar

Advantages: Easy walking, not arduous, superb catering
Disadvantages: The course has some settling to do

...This course was constructed by Elmwood College, which is the top European College for Golf Management Studies, and opened in 1997. Regrettably, I think they have to study a bit harder. To give it the benefit of the doubt, the course was originally agricultural land and still has a lot of settling in to do. You still get the feeling of walking from field to field as a lot of the original walls are still there. The surrounding countryside is open farmland with Tarvit Hill to the south and Lomond Hills to the west. It’s a lovely setting and the welcome cannot be faulted. THE COURSE It’s a par 70 (sss 68) for men and par 73 (sss72) for ladies. The course is pretty straightforward with only a few greenside bunkers (no fairway bunkers). Tenerife - not on my short list

Advantages: Cheap car hire and petrol
Disadvantages: Unpredictable weather, expensive food, lots of time-share touts

...the local red-light district, and a mecca for prostitutes throughout the night. The hotel has been on 'Holidays from Hell' twice and I have also seen some very bad write-ups about it. The area of the resort we stayed in was compact, with a wide abundance of food restaurants of unfortunately, not brilliant quality and generally overpriced. At breakfast time, we saw food advertised at around £1.95 a head, trouble is the drinks prices were not publicised and we ended up paying around £5 each for an orange juice. We ended up eating in the pizza hut/kentucky fried chicken cafe. I had heard that Tenerife was the island of warm weather all year around, whilst we were there we had a few sandstorms, rain, a hurricane, and could not visit half the places we wanted to, as they were out of bounds and had been sealed off by the police for safety...

Los Americas,Tenerife has it all

Advantages: Hot, Sunny, Reasonably Priced
Disadvantages: Busy, Hectic Night life

...Just want to give as much info in a total package about Tenerife. I have done the Portugal, Spain Mainland, Yugoslavia, Greece, Cyprus, Italy, Gran Canaria, Lanzarotte thing, but to be honest have settled every year for Tenerife. I have three kids and it basicaly suits without forking out money on trying a different experience. There are plenty of flights available to the island leaving mainly Fridays and have never suffered any issues getting there. The Reina Sophia Airport is around a 30 minuite drive from Los Americas where you will witness some of the finest Hotels imaginable. Yes.......and that is exactly what i said, some of the 5* hotels take some beating. Usually, i opt to stay at one of the 4* hotels such as The Conquistador or Noelia Sur where i have stayed on numerous occasions and every time been a winner. The problem...

GO TO TENERIFE

...Tenerife, situated in the Canary Islands, near Ibiza and in the Mediterranean. Paradise! But Tenerife hardly displays the tacky, sex driven ambience of Ibiza. Some areas of Tenerife (Las Americas)are geered towards the British Tourist with pubs, clubs, strip joints and every restaurant serving ham and chips! I am not saying that this is bad. If you want to go on holiday and then end up at home again but with a sunburn then go to Las Americas.If you want to interact with the Spanish Culture, learn a bit about about the Spanish way of Life and maybe change your philosophy on Life then steer clear of Las Americas. Tenerife is only a 3 hour flight from Luton and can cost from £38 depending which airline you take. ...Club currently has resorts in England,Scotland, France, Italy,Austria,Germany,Portugal and mainland spain. Majorca,Menorca,Tenerife and lanzarote,United States of America and the Caribbean. Also if you book a late holiday 59 days before you go you only use half of your points which is 20 and the you can carry over the remaining 20 to the following year and have 60 points to go to for a longer holiday or go somewhere like the caribbean. Points you use and where you go will depend on low, mid and high season of course spain you would not use as mant points as the usa. TENERIFE, PLAYA DE LAS AMERICAS

Advantages: GREAT FOR ALL AGES, BIGGEST CLUB ON CANARY ISLAND, LOTS TO DO

...of restaurants, bars and clubs but a lot of older people do visit and there is a lot of things to do for family's and older people. Most of the older people tend to stay in los christianos which is a more quiet part of the island which is also great for family's or people just wanting to relax. ~*~ LOCALS ~*~ Most of the spanish locals in Tenerife are rude and will follow you home. Tenerife has become a very English place to visit so you wont need to learn any Spanish but the locals really appreciate your efforts so its all always nice to learn the basics like thank you and so on. ~*~ THINGS TO DO ~*~ In the day there is lots to do like going to the water park, go karting, arcades, golf, shopping or chilling on the beach.
