Hotel Noelia Sur, Tenerife

Advantages: Quality, Family Friendly Hotel
Disadvantages: Non really, just needs to sort out the sunbed situation

...I have just got back from Tenerife and staying at the Hotel Noelia Sur. My family go to Tenerife every year and this is the second time we have stayed at the Noelia. It has always been known as a quality hotel, but like many hotels it has its blips. Our flight was with Monarch airlines and to be honest it did leave certain things to be desired. I was told to expect to pay £10.00 for the inflight meals, which basicaly are crap, but Monarch tried to hit us with a £15.00 bill for them.As there were 7 in my party, this would have been an extra £105.00. I honestly do not think there is a need for such a price, as this would bring in more than £5000 revenue for the company, just for the inflight meals. They already charge a price of £3.00 for a 330 ml can of beer that costs 60p in an off license. On top of this there is a hire charge of £1...

Disadvantages: Shop opening hours

Excellent hotel, nicest in tenerife.

Advantages: Excellent hotel, close to amenities, beach not far away.
Disadvantages: None

...to about £1300 i think, boyfriend payed, lol Its cheap aswell to eat out and we did that too on some nights. Lovely chinese not far from the hotel. Would i go back again, definately. I dont think i could stay anywhere else in tenerife after staying in a high standard hotel. It was lovely. We really enjoyed our stay here. You all have got me remembering things now, i've blabbed enough! lol I can add pics but i dont know how to do it. lol...

my apartment in Tenerife - Costa del Silencio

Advantages: hot, nice people, good food, plenty to do
Disadvantages: too hot, cockroaches, air noise

...I have only been to Tenerife once for three weeks and thought i'd share my experience of the island with you all. Also the review of the place where our apartment is, in Costa del Silencio is not very good! So this is to clear a few things up. The apartment is on Amiralla Bay with great views over the ocean and right on the sea front. Unfortunately Tenerife as a whole is very rocky and so there is no beach. There is however a place to get into the sea via a ladder or just jump in (without breaking a leg!). There are always a lot of people down there and the locals are down there after 6pm most days. If they are not in the sea do not go in as i learned, it didn't look too rough but it was. I am a good swimmer but those who aren't that confident would have struggled and didn't see any lifeboats whilst over there so wouldn't like to be...

Benalmadena the Costa del Sol

Advantages: Friendly town with lots to do, a lovely holiday.
Disadvantages: If you steer clear of the 'English Bars' there are none

...divine and the food e tastes equally good. Be sure to have a 'proper' paella from one of these restaurants - washed down with a jug of sangria it is a must for any holiday to Spain. I can honestly say that in all of our holidays in Benalmadena I never had fish and chips, an 'English cupps'. pie and mash etc etc once - we ate compleetly Spanish food - very good it was too. Benalmadena Costa also has its own casino, night club and golf course. Benalmadena enjoys an average of 320 days of sun each year with an average temperature of 21°C. Of the 28 beaches the town offer most are are sandy, some shingle, some man-made, but they are all clean. Apartment Complex in Tenerife

Advantages: Clean and spacious apartments.
Disadvantages: Too noisy and packed around the hotel area especially around the pool.

.... I didn't like Playa d' las Americas much but the torviscas and fanabe area were lovely. Some people hire a car to get around, but to be honest if you like walking then ten minutes walk to some areas of the resort is pleasant on an nice summers' evening and afterwards we always got a taxi back to the hotel. Plenty of live entertainment everywhere. I would go back to Tenerife, but not to this particular hotel. I would prefer somewhere more quieter next time....

Tribute to a Golf

Advantages: Great car, good fuel economy, well built - and extremely safe

...I've owned my Golf TDI S for almost 5 years now, and I've been really pleased with it. Unfortunately my insurance company have purchased the car back from me following a 7 vehicle pile up (not my fault!). However, I thought I'd put the experience to good use and tell you not only about how great the car is as a drive, but also show how well it can stand up to a battering. The car looks good. There's no getting away from it: when VW bring out a new shape of the Golf I invariably don't like it, but given a few weeks to get used to it, and it really grows on you. On the outside the car comes in a range of colours (I'd opted for a nice metallic blue on mine), with the mirrors and part of the bumper finished in the same colour. An Oasis? Oh Yes!

Advantages: Gorgeous surroundings, peaceful and tranquil, large well equipped apartments
Disadvantages: Card payment system, no cash allowed, no air conditioning!

...The Oasis Golf Resort can only be described as perfect for a holiday retreat. As soon as you enter the complex you are greeted by the most helpful of staff and the most beautiful of surroundings. The reception area is lushly deisgned complete with chirping birds. Within this area is a very secure safety deposit system where you can be assured our precious belongings are safe. This is at a nominal cost. A lovely bar also awaits you in this area leading through into the restaurant. The complex is self-catering but the food in the restaurant is of high quality, with a good level of choice and at a reasonable price. Drinks are also reasonably priced.
