Wow Good...man!

...In my home I have my main stereo downstairs. The trouble is, I often like listening to music at night before I go to bed. I did have a (really old) personal cd player, but I was sick of replacing the batteries. I went into Argos and spotted the Goodmans GPS222 on display, so I bought one. ~Design~ The Goodmans GPS222 is 13 inches long, 9 inches deep (at it's widest) and 6 inches tall. It weighs around 4lbs - not very heavy - but it might feel quite weighty if you were carrying it around for a while. As you can see from the picture the Goodmans GPS222 is quite modern looking and I was pleased with the design of it. Goodmans gracious me!! (UPDATE -PANTS!!)

Advantages: Good price, attractive system, good sound
Disadvantages: Doesn't last 12 months!

...We treated our youngest to a new CD/radio for her birthday. Her old Sanyo one had broken ? the CD just died after 13 months! So we had a good look around and not wanting to spend a fortune we went for the Goodmans 1002 micro system from Argos. It cost us £64.99, not a bad price I feel. Now available for £59.99!! The unit its-self is very attractive, being primarily silver in colour. The main unit is 16cm x 17cm and 26cm deep with the speakers 22cm x 14cm x 19cm. The speakers are a pale wood colour with silver covers for the front, which can be removed if you wish and are both 12.5w. It now sits quite unobtrusively at the back of her little desk and seems to take up very little space. This micro system, however, is only a CD/radio, IT DOES NOT HAVE A TAPE DECK. We took the decision that really cassettes are a bit old hat now...

Good quality, good value, Goodmans

Goodmans, Good Luck!!!!

Advantages: Good memory
Disadvantages: scrolling display makes a clicking noise during music

...I was reluctant to buy the I-Pod because it keeps changing so much so I decided to go for the cheaper option which is the Goodman GMP38G6. It's got really good quality sound and the headphones are very comfortable. The menus are very difficult to navigate and Goodman's should work on this. One glitch I noticed is that when you're listening to music you can hear the screen display scrolling the artist and song name. It makes a very faint clicking noise as it scrolls. I phoned the helpline which is detailed on the back of the device but they weren't any help at all. It's definitely no-where near the quality of the I-Pod but is better than most mp3 and mp4 players. You can record voice but you can't easily use it to store other types of files like photos or MS office files but with some effort it is possible. You get a mini CD with it that...

Goodmans DPL805 Surround Sound

Advantages: cheap
Disadvantages: needed a sub-woofer to really bring it to life as an all rounder

...Bought the Goodmans DPL805 Surround Sound as part of a Comet deal, you got TV, Video & Surround sound. Did quite a good sound for only a 4 channel Dolby Pro Logic. You got 2 Front speakers, 1 Centre speaker and 2 Rear speakers. The rear speakers are both on 1 channel. Has an output for a mono powered sub-woofer, but we did not get one as part of the deal, you had to buy it separately Did not need the sub-woofer for watching films and the sound quality was decent and loud enough for us, but if you wanted it for listening to music then it would make it a better system and it would then be a 5 channel system. All in all, not a bad little system and you had enough connections to add a video, TV, sattelite and a stereo, all on phono jack connections. Still working and son is currently using it. Speakers are all quite small...

...Last year I was browsing online for a good LCD TV to replace my big old TV, when I found this 17" Goodmans LCD with Freeview. So I placed my order, waited a few days for it to turn up. When I opened the Television I was happy with the size and weight of the TV. I got rid of my computer monitor and was going to use my new TV until the problems started. The first problem I found was cables. I was going to use an S-Video cable to plug the computer into the television, which should be possible, however, the freeview box connects to the television using an s-video cable so there isn't a free port. However, there was port for a computer monitor cable. So I walked to my local computer shop, paid out £5 for the over long cable, came back and plugged it in. I was happy with the results because the picture from the computer was nice...

...is not for me. I know what I exactly required when I looked in to my Littlewoods Catalogue. Hence, I am found a simple DVD and decided to buy this one and only this one. It's a Goodmans GDVD134. ~The Look~ ------------- It's a silver metal body with silver remote with blue buttons on the remote and blue display screen on the DVD. I liked that clearly. It's got 12 buttons on the front of the DVD, on-off, stop, ff,rew.etc. The remote is grey silver with the flexibility of extra features that the machine itself does not have. It's also got zoom, title, menu, set up, sub title features. This is very useful not only do you control from your chair but you have added control. It can be streatch up to the 2O ft of my good but must be point at the DVD to work at all. Again, the extra feature on the remote are all you could want...

...I needed a new dvd player and decided to go to a well know stockist of quite a few brands. Untimately I was looking to keep the cost down, somthing that has all the toys with a fraction of the cost. The unit in the end was purchased from Currys. I came accross a goodmans GDVD157, on first view the unit looked modern, I liked the general look of it. The price was £36.99, which is a very good price for a good DVD player. I liked the fact that it was CD, CDRW, MPEG, JPEG, and VCD compatible. One feature I liked about this unit is that you can play your downloaded pictures from your computer, save them to disc and play them on your dvd player. it plays them as a slideshow, holding each picture for a few seconds, then moving on to the next one. Goodmans 1104 micro system

...I bought this 2 months ago for my home-office in order to listen to DAB radio and to listen to CDs and CD-Rs and CD-RWs. I'm a bit of a sceptic so I bought it from Argos (£89) so I could take it back if it was no good. When I last looked Richer Sounds were selling it cheaper (£79). The DAB tuner with supplied ribbon ariel is far more sensitive than my Pure Evoke1. How do I know this? It picks up many more (around 20) distant stations. I live north of Newcastle and it easily picks up stations from Cleveland (Middlesborough) and often picks up stations in Leeds (about 80 miles away). The sound from DAB and CD is excellent for the money. I don't use 'excellent' lightly. I have an expensive main hi fi system (e.g. Linn Turntable) and this Goodmans gives a respectable sound.
