...I purchased the Goodmans GCE7105 CD player following the theft of my previous CD player (which was the Goodmans GCE7103 and in my opinion a better CD player). What can I say, the CD player was easy to install (after I purchased an ISO Socket to a 1993 Ford Fiesta converter). Excluding the removal of my old CD player (which was kindly done for me) I was able to install the CD player in under 5 minutes, most of this time was making sure that the mounting cage was securely fixed. The sound quality from the CD player, well that depends on the quality of the speaker system in the car, I have the original 1993 front speakers so the sound is not the best. Review of Goodmans GCE7105

LG GCE 8160B CD burner

Advantages: value for money, works well, good for backups
Disadvantages: Not the fastest on the block

...There are some very fast CD burners on the market although they're mainly being overtaken by DVD burners which aren't much more expensive these days. The LG GCE-8160B is a couple of years old now and used to sell at PC World for £69 but can be picked up cheaply on eBay these days. The box contains the bare drive which sports 16x CD-R writing, 10x CD-RW writing and 40x reading as well as all the usual IDE cables, screws and sound card leads. The supplied software is Roxio CD Creator version 5 which is the latest version although not the full 'Platinum' style. You can still burn almost any type of CD although some of the more esoteric features such as vinyl restoration, and Video-CD creation are missing. You can of course use 3rd party software or upgrade to the full version of CD Creator 5 Platinum. A bonus is a good pair of manuals...

Wow Good...man!

I went into Argos and spotted the Goodmans GPS222 on display, so I bought one. ~Design~ The Goodmans GPS222 is 13 inches long, 9 inches deep (at it's widest) and 6 inches tall. It weighs around 4lbs - not very heavy - but it might feel quite weighty if you were carrying it around for a while. Goodmans gracious me!! (UPDATE -PANTS!!)

...We treated our youngest to a new CD/radio for her birthday. Her old Sanyo one had broken ? the CD just died after 13 months! So we had a good look around and not wanting to spend a fortune we went for the Goodmans 1002 micro system from Argos. It cost us £64.99, not a bad price I feel. Now available for £59.99!! The unit its-self is very attractive, being primarily silver in colour. The main unit is 16cm x 17cm and 26cm deep with the speakers 22cm x 14cm x 19cm. The speakers are a pale wood colour with silver covers for the front, which can be removed if you wish and are both 12.5w. It now sits quite unobtrusively at the back of her little desk and seems to take up very little space. This micro system, however, is only a CD/radio, IT DOES NOT HAVE A TAPE DECK. We took the decision that really cassettes are a bit old hat now...

Good quality, good value, Goodmans

I stripped out the guts, built some new speaker cabs (using the doors off my wardrobe, I under estimated how angry my mum could get) and a ?receiver? (using an old valve amp and tuner, rewired into a new case) which sounded great. I rigged up a multi input interface (switch) to play other things through the system, like the tape deck I wanted for Christmas. I was however stuck with a crappy record deck until my cousin turned up with his old Goodman?s. This was brilliant, it had a moving magnet cartridge made by ?Audio Technica? Goodmans, Good Luck!!!!

...I was reluctant to buy the I-Pod because it keeps changing so much so I decided to go for the cheaper option which is the Goodman GMP38G6. It's got really good quality sound and the headphones are very comfortable. The menus are very difficult to navigate and Goodman's should work on this. One glitch I noticed is that when you're listening to music you can hear the screen display scrolling the artist and song name. It makes a very faint clicking noise as it scrolls. I phoned the helpline which is detailed on the back of the device but they weren't any help at all. It's definitely no-where near the quality of the I-Pod but is better than most mp3 and mp4 players. You can record voice but you can't easily use it to store other types of files like photos or MS office files but with some effort it is possible. You get a mini CD with it that...

Goodmans DPL805 Surround Sound

Advantages: cheap
Disadvantages: needed a sub-woofer to really bring it to life as an all rounder

...Bought the Goodmans DPL805 Surround Sound as part of a Comet deal, you got TV, Video & Surround sound. Did quite a good sound for only a 4 channel Dolby Pro Logic. You got 2 Front speakers, 1 Centre speaker and 2 Rear speakers. The rear speakers are both on 1 channel. Has an output for a mono powered sub-woofer, but we did not get one as part of the deal, you had to buy it separately Did not need the sub-woofer for watching films and the sound quality was decent and loud enough for us, but if you wanted it for listening to music then it would make it a better system and it would then be a 5 channel system. All in all, not a bad little system and you had enough connections to add a video, TV, sattelite and a stereo, all on phono jack connections. Still working and son is currently using it. Speakers are all quite small...

...Last year I was browsing online for a good LCD TV to replace my big old TV, when I found this 17" Goodmans LCD with Freeview. So I placed my order, waited a few days for it to turn up. When I opened the Television I was happy with the size and weight of the TV. I got rid of my computer monitor and was going to use my new TV until the problems started. The first problem I found was cables. I was going to use an S-Video cable to plug the computer into the television, which should be possible, however, the freeview box connects to the television using an s-video cable so there isn't a free port. However, there was port for a computer monitor cable. So I walked to my local computer shop, paid out £5 for the over long cable, came back and plugged it in. I was happy with the results because the picture from the computer was nice...
