Loox no further for a PDA
Advantages: Small, lightweight, easy use
Disadvantages: Slow GPS, No navigation software
...of accessories has proven a little difficult as most major and well known suppliers don't seem to stock products for the Pocket Loox models). The Acer may have had a slightly larger screen (3.7" compared to the N560's 3.5" screen), but in reality that extra little bit would make very little difference as the screen on the N560 is plenty large enough. It fits nicely in your hand, and weights only a little more than normal mobile phone.
When I received my shiny, new PDA, it came in a box probably half the size of a regular shoe box, and within it contained a single CD and some documents, the PDA itself, a stylish leather case with the Fujitsu-Siemens logo engraved on the front, a spare stylus, a charger (with two different plug heads so it can be used in a normal UK three-pronged socket, and a EU two pronged socket), a docking station and USB...

Never be lost again!
Advantages: Good street routing, free traffic updates
Disadvantages: No M6 Toll road
...of bluetooth and/or TMC
- PDA Cradle and mount for the dash board of the car
- Manuals
- Cables, inc cigar lighter charger
The software requires an install on the PC for the Map Export program and at the same time it installs it to the PDA via ActiveSync (As per a normal installation)
The Map Export program allows you to cut down the map size by selecting a specific area or route corridor to save. For example if you always travel from London to Oxford you could define your route, select the area around the route you want to include (In case you go off course) and save it. This can then be sync'd to the PDA.
The GPS "mouse" is small and will happily sit in the corner of your windscreen and stay connected to the power via the cigar lighter socket, which has a "Y" adapter that will also power the PDA. The GPS mouse that Navigon sell...

PocketLOOX - Pocket Heaven
Advantages: Easy To use, Quick
Disadvantages: Expensive
...This is the thrid PDA i have had the pleasure of using and probably the best.
The PDA is extremely easy to use out of the box and combines ease of use with speed. The Windows CE operating system makes the PDA very easy to use, like most Pocket PC's, and Fujitsu have done a great job making their Pocket PC stand out from the rest.
The feature that made me purchase this product was its Bluetooth capability, which means that most electronic products in my house are now connected to my Desktop via bluetooth, heck you could even switch the kettle on from your computer.
The Pocket PC is able to play music with incredable sound quality and play video files with ease. It is advised to purchase a memory card though as the pocket PC uses about 64mb for both running and storage.
The processor is one of the fastest you can get...

Fujitsu Siemens AMILO Xi 2528
Advantages: very fast, very cheap
Disadvantages: could look better
...Fujitsu Siemens AMILO Xi 2528
This is the Fujitsu Siemens AMILO Xi 2528. It is a laptop designed for entertainment purposes whilst still being very cheap in price.
Fujitsu Siemens are well known for their cheap laptops, and are also quite well known for making basic laptops and therefore don?t really have the best reputation in the market.
However that is all changing now, instead of sticking to the mold of cheap basic laptops, there branching out and are starting to make ultra portable laptops that compete with sonys, and dells whilst being a lot cheaper too. They are now also making entertainment laptops with great specifications and features that come in at just a fraction of the price of some of its competitors and the AMILO Xi 2528 is one of these.
The installed ram on this laptop is great, it has a massive 3gb which is...

Fujitsu/Siemens Li2727
Advantages: Good specs, portable, cheap
Disadvantages: Bad customer service
...would send some disks that would put this right.
So I turned off the Laptop to wait for the disks which, still have not arrived 1 week later. When I decided to turn the Laptop on again it came up with a message saying Disk Error, press any key to continue, I pressed any key and the same message was repeated several times but the Laptop would not start.
I again phoned Fujitsu/Siemens and was told that it was to be returned to Comet for refund or replacement, but that they had to have a copy of the reciept from the manager at comet to send the code needed for this to hAppen. So I had to phone Comet to get this done, this was completed the same day( Thur), but no number was sent to Comet until the following Mon, this was when I finally decided to ask for a refund.
I have not been able to asses how good this Laptop was, but can say honestly...

My Wife loox good
Advantages: Camera, Navigation options, styling
Disadvantages: bit pricey, E2C button gets in the way on Tetris
...Introduction
----------------
I happened across the Pocket Loox in the middle of last year, so when my wife needed a new PDA we chose the Fujitsu Siemens Pocket Loox 720. Principal competition to this is the HP iPaq range so why did we choose the Loox. The decision was based on features and styling.
Definitions
---------------
Firstly lets me define (I get commented on for doing techie reviews) so skip this if you already know what I'm talking about. A PDA is a Personal Digital Assistant. This is a small handheld device with a screen and some sort of navigation facilities (normally a multi-direction button, occasionally a small trackpad). There are several makes on the market and several Operating Systems that they run (Microsoft Pocket PC, Palm OS, Symbian OS, Blackberry OS). Separate programs exist for separate Operating...

Great design for great tool
Advantages: Size, Battery life
Disadvantages: Screen a bit dark
...fit in. (support for SD, CF and a few others I've never seen before). It supports Infrared, Bluetooth, and of course, the USB/Keyboard/Extension port at the bottom.
The cradle is quite small and does not require the pocket pc to be clipped to it. This was the cause of wear and tear of IPAQ's connections, so no problems for the Pocket Loox, which just stays loose in its cradle.
If you don't want/don't need to use a cradle (you're always on the move), the cable is cool since once folded, it will also fit in your pocket, and no, it's solid enough for you not to replace it now and again.
Basically, the pocket loox is brill as it runs most programs, is quite fast, you can entend its functions quite easily (great postable keyboard that is the size of the pocket pc, webcam, gps, etc.). And it won't break apart, which is the most...

Gps 72 Handheld
Advantages: Lightweight and waterproof
Disadvantages: Wrist Strap
...I am a commercial fisherman who relies on both exact and dependability in a Gps navigation aid.
The Garmin Gps 72 is a very dependable unit i use another brand on my boat while working and i have the gp 72 beside it and have found it to be a better unit allround, so i hear you all say, well this is why i mentioned my other unit, the other ones costs nearly £700 and is a fixed unit, with a smaller display.
My gp 72 cost me £130 and is handheld and portable, also with the correct lead available from Garmin you can download and update data from your computer or laptop.
I use mine for work when i am called out for the HM Coastguard Cliff Rescue Team that i am a member of and found it is very accurate and dependable.
It has a clear display excellent features easy to use menus and functions, setup is easy as all you have to do is...
