I bought this product to use in conjunction with my 02 XDA exec mobile phone. The sd card (arrives as mini sd with an sd adaptor) installs the programme quickly and easily onto your device, all you need is enough free memory. After that, turn on your GPS reciever from the box, and your bluetooth and connect the devices. From here on you are up and running. You can store your home destination, and if you have added addresses to contacts in your phone, you can access them directly from TomTom. It can take a while to pinpoint your location from a cold start up, which can be frustrating if you are starting from an unknown location and are wanting to get on the go. Advantages: Easy to Use, Cheap with All the Functions you really Need

TomTom 3 Bluetooth - what an amazing product !

The TomTom was recommended to me by several people but I wentmy own way and bought the Navman 720. I like the looks of it and the inbuilt camera. I had nothing but problems. In the end, the company I bought it from offered me the pick of the GPS systems they sold - after much research I chose the 910. Whereas the Navman would take upto 3 or 4 minutes to get a full signal where we live, the 910 picks up its signal within a minute. It's ability to say road numbers and street names is very useful but using this means you can't use te many available celebrity voices. TomTom puts on a kinky leather suit

...OK, you've just bought your TomTom GPS system and stupidly left it in your car to be stolen faster than a blink of an eye. OK, that?s just my stupidity, but after replacing my unit I decided that to ensure it was easy to carry around and would act as a subtle reminder I would buy a carry case. Looking around for the right one is a bit of a mission as there are so many different types available. In the end I opted for the carry case shown at the top of the screen mainly because it looked slightly different, wasn't made from durable plastic and was only £25. Every other carry case I had seen was like a box, not too dissimilar to the case provided for face units of car audio equipment and as I already have to carry this around with me, I didn't like the idea of a briefcase packed full of plastic, instead I was drawn by the idea...

TomTom Wireless GPS Receiver 20 channel GPS receiver module

...I dont have a 20 channel receiver however I do have a 12 channel receiver which came in the box with my Tom Tom Navigator 5 for PDA, whichi I use in my Treo 680 Smart Phone. The whole thing works perfectly and I couldn't ask for more as Sat Nav goes. The GPS receiver looks identical to the 20 channel one shown here and if this one works as well as mine does then you can't go wrong. It has a matt cover which makes it stay put where ever you place it on the dashboard and in use I've found that it picks up a signal very quickly and once linked to the PDA by bluetooth it keeps the signal so long as it can see just a tiny bit of sky. Once linked I take the unit off the dash and place it on the floor of the car in between the seats and it keeps the signal through motorway tunnels and even during a traffice halt under a bridge! You need tom-toms to find your way

Advantages: Large clear menu for touchscreen. Quick setup to navigate to postcodes. Clear driving instruction.

...On the basis of good reviews I bought Navigator 6 Western Europe (Nav 6) for my PDA to replace an ageing Miomap programme. Having removed the Miomap programme the TomTom Nav 6 installed quickly and easily and after selecting a few options, was up and running. The selection of only 2 UK voices was very disappointing, and neither really appealed. Navigating to a post code is simple to set up, but I could not preview the route until the unit connected to satellites. I had to exit the navigation screen an select a view map icon to see anything. Typing in a town name is predictive, letting you select a town really easily. Menu navigation is easy with nice large icons and a maximum of 6 to a screen.
