Advantages: Three or four really great sporting games Disadvantages: The need to 'calibrate' Wii Remote
...Let the games Begin...
As a game which came free with the Wii console, 'Wii Sports' had little to prove - a title designed to show off the ingenious controls of the new machine, which at times meant that it felt like a bit of a glorified tech-demo. The sequel 'Wii Sports Resort' is tied in with the release of MotionPlus - the little white box that plugs into the bottom of the Wii controller, offering much more accuracy and finesse of controls - but does the game make the most of the new technology, or is it a missed opportunity?
Set on the tropical island of 'Wuhu', Sports Resort allows you to compete in twelve different sporting disciplines, each one designed to push your skill and co-ordination to the max. In this review, I'll take a look at each of the sports, whilst briefly explaining and summarising my feelings towards them...

Review of Wii Sports Resort (Wii)
Advantages: Everything you need under one roof Disadvantages: None
..., and even bait. Fishing clothing and bivvys and specialist beds and books.
This store I have found offers you anything you need for outdoors there is a big section on all the maps you need for all different areas along with gps equipment and compasses.
I have also found the staff here extrely helpful and will help you in any way you need, and they are experienced. They know what is best to suit your needs.
Each time i have been to the store i have found that even though it may be very busy the queues are kept very short.
There is so much there that I have only touched the surface really, if I were to name everything I would be here all day, but you get the idea of what the store is like.
Every thing is very well laid out in sections so it is easy to find what you are looking for.
Also if you are a regular visitor to the store it is...

Review of Go Outdoors
Advantages: Some great mini-games that really show off the MotionPlus accessory Disadvantages: Expensive to fully kit out two remotes. One or two less compelling mini-games
...INTRODUCTION
Our Nintendo Wii has been hibernating under our TV, gathering dust since shortly after Christmas. The Wii party games made a brief appearance for the holidays and the shine of Wii Fit wore off after our New Year?s resolutions met with their usual success and longevity (i.e. none). It?s a fab console, but it?s very ease of ?pick up and play? makes it just as easy to ignore in favour of other pursuits. However, we were intrigued by the promise and novelty of the new Wii MotionPlus gadget, and when Wii Sports Resort (WSR) ? essentially Wii Sports 2 ? was announced, it was immediately added to our Wish List. As such, I was delighted when I received it for my birthday last week, and It has played a part in our nightly entertainment since.
WHAT?S IN THE BOX
WSR comes packaged with the game (in its own DVD...
Advantages: It's FREE Disadvantages: time and effort
...As there seems to be a trend towards magazines this month I thought I would throw in my two pence worth and tell you about a little gem that I have discovered.
The magazine is entitled Outdoors and according to the blurb on the opening page it has been created as part of the PlantforLife campaign which aims to help get the most out of your garden. The campaign has been financed with the assistance of the European Community, so I supposed that means we have already indirectly contributed towards it, but the wonderful thing about this magazine is that you can get your own copy absolutely FREE.
Isn't that a wonderful word, always makes me sit up and take notice.
It is sent out four times a year to cover each season and the current one which I've just received is issue two, Summer 2004.
It's a glossy magazine containing a mere...

Review of Outdoors Magazine
Advantages: Great array of games, multi players, long playability Disadvantages: None
...Enjoy 12 different sports on a tropical island.
If Wii Sports is your kind of game then you will love the playability of Wii Sports Resort. THis game is one of the games that can be used with Wii Motion Plus which in my opinion enhances the game, makes your movements more realistic and ensures hours of fun for the whole family. This game is a for 7 years plus and I do find it very easy to navigate, set up and to play. Like I've said above it does remind me of the regular Wii Sports in that it includes golf and bowling and games similar to that which can be played by a number of players but in this game they have taken those platforms a step further and updated them as well as adding new fun games to play.
In total their are 12 different games you can play. These are Swordplay, Wakeboarding, Frisbee, Archery, Basketball, Table Tennis...
Advantages: fun to play with family and friends, lots of game choices, some really fun games, multiplayer Disadvantages: very expensive, some potentially boring games, not as well designed as it could be.
...Wii Sports Resort was my youngest brothers birthday present but for the purpose of research I decided to try it out myself.
The game is for the Nintendo Wii and has a whopping recommended retail price of £49.99 although it is currently selling on Amazon for £39.99. This price includes the game and a ?Wii Motion Plus?.
The Wii MotionPlus
This is an accessory which attaches to your Wii Remote to enhance its motion sensing capabilities. It detects and reproduces your movements in the game, so whether you are playing basketball or doing some archery, every little movement you make is accurately portrayed in the game.
The Wii MotionPlus is essential for game which is why it is included but its inclusion automatically makes the game a pricey one which is a bit of a shame. Whilst you only need one Wii Motion Plus for single...
Advantages: Good for all the family, Great fun, Entertaining, Something to do on a rainy day Disadvantages: Expensive
...Wii Sports Resort
One special day last year, I woke up unusually early - it was even still dark outside. I just couldn?t wait to get downstairs and go into the living room, but I couldn?t - not just yet anyway. It?s something we always do in my family, we must all go downstairs at the same time, together. Not every morning! Just on this particular special day, so I called my mum and dad - my two younger sisters were already up, practically buzzing with excitement at the top of the stairs - and together we all walked, or rather sprinted into the living room.
That special day of course, was Christmas day! Woohay!
So, you?re probably wondering I wanted to tell you about this, aren?t you? Well, keep reading and you?ll find out?
I love surprises, don?t you? Not knowing that something?s going to happen and then it does (as long...

Review of Wii Sports Resort (Wii)
Advantages: great fun, great multiplayer capabilities Disadvantages: possibly the price but other than that nothing!!!!
...Wii sports resort is the next step up from the original wii sports game, only not only is it a step up its a leap forward in the fun factor. With even more sports available its difficult to get bored of this game, and very easy to get addicted to it!!!!
There are 12 sports available on the game:-
swordplay
Wakeboarding
Frisbee
Archery
basketball
table tennis
golf
bowling
power cruising
canoeing
cycling
airsports.
So far my favourite sports have been the wakeboarding, the frisbee and the table tennis, although i have tried all of the sports on the game and i liked everyone of them.
Most of the sports on the game can be played with up to four players and there are options for matches, tournaments and vs games on each of the sports.
Wii sports resort has one other major difference to the original wii sports game. As well as having...
Advantages: fun forf whole family, lots of games, sensitive controls Disadvantages: expensive extra devices needed for multi-player
...Since its release for retail purchase in 2006 the Nintendo Wii has enjoyed immense success. One of the key reasons for this is probably that it reaches a wider demographic than the majority of games consoles and can be enjoyed by people of all ages. Wii sports resort, released as a kind of improvement on wii sports was released in july of this year, and is no exception, providing entertainment for people of all ages, and has the potential of being enjoyed by the whole family.
Wii sports is set on a island beach resort, and allows the playing of a number of different games, either as a single player or for up to four players. The game requires an additional device in the form of wii motion plus, which is a more sophisticated sensing device than the regular wii remote, and is able to pick up more complicated and sensitive movements when...
Advantages: Made for the job. Disadvantages: Has to be carried.
...First aid kits for outdoor pursuits.
The problem with outdoor pursuits, is that they do tend to take place some distance from "civilisation", and as such brings with it the fact that any massistance required, is going to take some time to arrive. This is where you are going to need equipment like a good basic first aid kit, to deal with any injuries you may have.
The one illustrated is by the First Aid Warehouse, they market this one as the "The OUTABS First Aid Kit". This kit is aimed at instructors or for use in suppost vehicles, kits designed to be carried as personal issue, are a lot smaller, and easier to stow.
