...I would just like to write a review on camping, from my own very many years worth of experience! If you have never been camping, then you don't quite know what you are missing - yet.
Camping usually means spending up to two weeks in a tent that leaks, with another person who snores and so keeps you up all night - or a dog that also keeps you awake by farting and licking you all over the face all night. But there are some advantages to it, but I have yet to find out what they are!
However, with all said here are some thoughts on both sides of the matter. Because I love it really!
Camping can be in anything from a glorified filed rented out by a local farmer, to a proper concern by means of a full-on camping site with added facilities. Depending on what you want can decide where you stay, and what you want close by. A lot...
Advantages: Quiet, pleasant staff, great place to get the children out and playing Disadvantages: Hill up from the Warren (but catch the bus!)
...I think the other reviewers of this campsite must have had some strange concepts of what camping is about! Have used this site for a number of years (not exclusively - I camp at least 6 times a year). Only once have I had a problem with tent guys overlapping and that was because the person who pitched next to me had a monster of a tent and no idea how to pitch it so it didn't encroach. In fact, on many sites, they would have had to book 2 pitches.
One reviewer complain about a party next door to the campsite - I was there at the time and the time - the property adjoining the site is NOTHING to do with the site. Andrew did his best to negotiate with the residents but they were unco-operative at the time - the police had to be called in the end. We, and anyone who asked, WERE reimbursed for that night. The loos do get mucky when...

Review of Leadstone Camping
Advantages: Good cast, some funny lines Disadvantages: Dated and crudie in parts
...became unfunny and a little crude.
So where does Carry On Camping fit in the series?
CARRY ON CAMPING
*************************
Carry on Camping as the seventeenth film of the series was released in 1969, in full colour. At the time it was a huge box office success in England, which I seriously doubt it would be today. In fact it would probably be frowned upon these days and seem a little like dirty schoolboy humour. Carry On regulars who were in the cast of this film were Sid James, Kenneth Williams, Charles Hawtrey, Hattie Jacques, Joan Sims and Bernard Bresslaw. Barbara Windsor had a leading role in this film and there were quite a few other actors in small or minor roles. In line with the other Carry On films, Carry On Camping has it's 'memorable clip' This time it is a busty Babara Windsor flinging her arms out as part...
Advantages: Good position Disadvantages: Bit basic
...Camping "LA BESSIERE" BLESLE.
This year we decided to go on a camping holiday in France. Our destination was Nant in the Midi-Pyrénées Aveyron region. Now it is a long journey by car from Calais as Nant is 957km, 8.40,hours driving without stops, (Michelin route guide) so we decided to break our journey and camp at Blessle in the Auvergne region for a couple of nights . Blessle according to Michelin is 776km and 7 hours 8 minutes drive from Calais.
I booked our camping through the tourist office http://www.tourist-office.org/tourisme/france/auvergne/haute-loire/blesle.htm. This was because I did not trust the website of the campsite to be virus free. I tried to phone the campsite but my French was not good enough to make myself understood. The campsite person only spoke French. However I found the lady that I spoke to...
Advantages: Great fun, central location... Disadvantages: The Midgey.....
...problems.
We were directed to where the camping pitches were at the far end of the site, farthest away from the toilet block, I noted, but hey I was determined not to moan (at least out loud). We took a decision not to pitch next to camping enthusiasts, who we knew would have all the lastest equipment and camping know-how and we'd spend the weekend listening and being bored by their expertise.
The park is well appointed on the main A84, just south of Strathyre which is a small village, with a few amenities, including an Hotel and recreational fascilities. Strathyre is considered to be the start of the Highlands but would say its just a village many tourists would pass through. For a larger town head south some 9 miles to Callander, which has an abundance of shops ,cafe's and restaurants. This is a popular stopping place for tour buses...
Advantages: Quiet, Peaceful, Relaxing Disadvantages: Insect bites, Scary noises at night
...you have decided to venture to the continent you should know that there are some fairly important things you should have in your vehicle for overseas motoring such as headlight converters, spare bulbs, a warning triangle and first aid kit. Also I find it?s quite helpful if you take some clothes, basic cooking equipment, barbeque and tent.
WHAT TYPE OF CAMPING DO YOU WANT TO DO?
This is where you can make your camping holiday as individual as you like. You can choose to stay at as many campsites as you want and often can just arrive on the day and ask if there is a spare overnight pitch for you to use. If you like the area you could of course ask to stay a bit longer. Depending on how organised or neurotic you are you may have pre-booked your campsite. The Internet has made it really easy to check out the major campsites around...

Review of Camping - General
Advantages: Everything Disadvantages: None unless you are a bit of a sissy
...hello.... I was looking at the camping reviews and decided that although they were all really helpful, the subject need a review on another side of camping. I love camping and plan trips as often as posable, and like most people I would feel cramped in a site full of people. This review is about the more adventurous type of camping.
WHERE
In my opinion camping is all about location. I am one of the lucky ones had happen to live in Devon where i am surrounded by beautiful landscapes.
Before you plan a trip you should thing about you want a scenic/ relaxing trip where it will probably just be and your friends, or something slightly more active.
One of the first places people look to go camping is somewhere like The New Forest. This is a nice place but I feel it has become too popular; especially in the summer. When walking...

Review of Camping - General
Advantages: Everything you need to be as comfortable as if you'd never left home Disadvantages: Ah, wilderness!
...and discovered that my backpack was still in my kitchen - before deciding that we had proven our hardiness and it was time to try some sissy camping.
Read: car-camping.
Ah yes, the kind of camping where you load everything you will ever need in this life and the next into your car and drive through spectacular scenery to a campsite with flush toilets, hot showers, ice, firewood bundles, camp stores, RVs spewing diesel fumes next door, TVs blaring, kids on bikes running into your tent... You know, getting away from it all.
Hey, I'll try anything once.
And, mirabile dictu, I loved it even more than backpacking.
As time went on and we camped every year, I started getting the hang of the equipment thing. My friends were happy to accommodate me, but I didn't want to be dependent on them, so I started doing some research and buying my own...

Review of Camping - General
Advantages: Very fast connection speeds Disadvantages: None
...After purchasing a Pocket PC (HP hx4700) mainly for use as a calender assistant and portable web browsing device, I soon discovered that it could also be used as a portable Sat Nav device as well, allowing applications such as Tomtom to be uploaded onto it, and for those who are interested in light aircraft flying, like me, memory map is fantastic aviation GPS program which can be used on using actual CAA aviation maps with GPS data overlay for flight planning and tracking purposes. The one extra hardware add-on which is needed to allow tomtom and memory map to function is a GPS receiver device. I had previously purchased a Compact Flash card extension GPS receiver which plugged into the Pocket PC's existing ports directly, unfortunately, it was very poor at satellite tracking and position locking, taking several minutes to lock-on to...
Advantages: Not too far from Portmadog, sandy beaches around 1 mile away, prices quite reasonable Disadvantages: Toilets/showers could have been a lot cleaner, terrible Welsh weather, not much space on site
...Graeanfryn Farm
I stayed here earlier this Summer holiday with my family. We had just bought a new touring caravan and this was the first place we tried it out in.
We have been to many camping sites before we bought our new caravan, staying in a tent, but after freezing half to death and getting soaking wet (as well as having to listen to the whole sites arguments/ snoring etc through the thin fabric walls of a tent) too many times in our "waterproof" tent we'd just had enough, and decided a caravan would be better to suit our needs.
Location
Graeanfryn Farm is in Nefyn, we had stayed in this town before and that is why we choose to come to this site for our first trip in the caravan - if anything went wrong at least we knew the town quite well and wouldn't get lost on our way back home and also its a lovely place...
