...After purchasing a Pocket PC (HP hx4700) mainly for use as a calender assistant and portable web browsing device, I soon discovered that it could also be used as a portable Sat Nav device as well, allowing applications such as Tomtom to be uploaded onto it, and for those who are interested in light aircraft flying, like me, memory map is fantastic aviation GPS program which can be used on using actual CAA aviation maps with GPS data overlay for flight planning and tracking purposes. Oscar Wilde's obsession with books

Advantages: Full of fascinating information about Wilde's life and love of books
Disadvantages: None really, except maybe best enjoyed by those with some prior knowledge of Wilde

The Garmin Gps 72 is a very dependable unit i use another brand on my boat while working and i have the gp 72 beside it and have found it to be a better unit allround, so i hear you all say, well this is why i mentioned my other unit, the other ones costs nearly £700 and is a fixed unit, with a smaller display. My gp 72 cost me £130 and is handheld and portable, also with the correct lead available from Garmin you can download and update data from your computer or laptop. I use mine for work when i am called out for the HM Coastguard Cliff Rescue Team that i am a member of and found it is very accurate and dependable. Excellent GPS package at great price

Advantages: Excellent sat-nav package at low price, well-spec'd handheld computer
Disadvantages: Advertising unclear: hidden costs of full European package

...When I decided too buy this product, I wasn't specifically looking for a handheld computer, I was after a decent (but inexpensive) GPS satellite navigation system; and the Acer n35 is not only the cheapest GPS-equipped handheld, it's actually cheaper than most dedicated sat-nav systems, so the fact that this device functions as a computer with numerous other facilities is a pure bonus! You can easily pay £400 for a dedicated portable sat-nav system like the Tom Tom Go, and similar amounts for sat-nav equipped handhelds, but the Acer can be had for as little as £240 brand new with full guarantee. You see already the main economic advantage, especially when you compare it to the four-figure sums that car manufacturers charge for built-in sat-nav systems.... The Acer n35 is basically the n30 without BlueTooth capability...

Tweenies Book

Advantages: children will enjoy it
Disadvantages: none unless your child wants you to read it about 10 times a day

...I got this book from a book club for my eldest and now my youngest likes to look at it. It's a hard back book with each page inside being double thin card so that the pull out pictures are fitted in the middle of them. The book is called 'Come Back Colours' because Doodles (The red dog) has lost its colour and so have all the Tweenies toys. The front cover has a picture of the youngest Tweenie Jake and the colourless Doodles, when you open the book you see a picture of the other Tweenies (Milo, Bella and Fizz) on the opposite page is Jake with his special cape opening his arms to the colourless Doodles. The story starts ' One day, Jake put on his special coloured cape.' His job was to look after the colours but where have Doodles colours gone? Jake comes to the rescue waves his arms and says 'Colours come and colours go...

...This was a very strange book and one that I picked up as I was intrigued by the title and the fact that the author was Anonymous. According to the blurb on the back of the book this was originally self-published on the internet. The plot centres around (unsurprisingly) "The Book With No Name" - a book which if read leads to the death of the reader. I thought this sounded quite interesting but the mysterious book is not as central as you would assume from the premise. The other main plot focus is on the retrieval of a precious stone known as "The Eye of the Moon". This stone is rumoured to have magical powers and is guarded by a group of monks known as Hubals who live on an island.
