Gran Turismo 5 Prolougue

Advantages: great graphics
Disadvantages: very limited gameplay

...This is the new standard of racing, with its amazing standard of graphics creating a resolution of 1080p/i.There are over 70 cars to choose from. The only problem is, is that the game is lacking in racing tracks there are only six but they are so gripping you can not get bored of them. If you want to play this game with a friend in your own home don't be put of by the box only saying it's a one player game there is a 2p battle option. Though this game is not the full game it is not a disappointment. With this game Gran Turismo have made the cars as realistic as possible. Not only have they given extreme exterior detail, they have made the interior of the cars exactly as they are in real life. Gran Turismo 5 Prologue

Advantages: amazing graphics, online play, true racing experience
Disadvantages: repetitive, poor online options, glorified demo

...Before i start please bare in mind this is a just glorified demo of not a full game, so dont expect the world! I picked up a copy of Gran Turismo 5 Prologue on release day after being a loyal fan of the series and blown away by the level of detail gone into the game. With 4 different classes to try and pass there is plenty to keep you occupied with. Im a fan of racing games and generaly race in the view inside the car and the detail of normal is minimal but GT5 prollouge take it to the next level. You can clearly see the time and effort put into making the cars as accurate as they could in and out of the car. Even the tracks seem to of been made inch perfect to their real life counter-parts. Only problem is that there is only 6 tracks, but these can be reversed to make you get a further 6 'new' tracks. But enough of the detail...

Advantages: good graphics

...can then enter a higher championship which improves you skills more and gets you more money. At the start of the game you are given £10,000 to buy a car. If you can buy a 4wd car because the handling is better and braking is improved. Then simply and modifications to your car and you wil win more money. Then buy a better performance car but still race you original one so you can save money to spend on your new car. Then once you are sure that the performance will be good then you can race your car. The game is brilliant and i would recomend it to anyone. The latest release is Gran Turismo 2 and i have not played it yet. I you have the money and a playstation and the money to buy this games then buy it....

Gran Turismo 2 Reviewed

Advantages: Car lovers will get plenty out of this game
Disadvantages: If you dislike cars and driving sims, this won't be for you

...Wow, what can I say. 600 cars, all fully cusomiseable, loads of circuits, all technically different from each other, the usual excellent graphics for the cars, no discernable popup, a drivers dream. Gran Turismo 2 excels as a driving simulator, the cars handle perfectly, the AI of your opponents is to the same standard as the previous incarnation of GT, and strategically choosing the right car can be pretty important too. There are many more competition categories to enter, including manufacturer's cups, and there is a good chance that if you own your own car for real, you could find it in this game, including the "Italian Job" Mini Cooper. Overall, plenty of longevity and playability here, compares very well with other driving genres, but the Gran Turismo series are still in a league of their own....

...This game is almost impossible to sum up in a few lines, but there is one word which could explain it, BRILLIANT! You should go and buy it now, as you could probably get it for ten pounds, or maybe even less. The graphics are excellent, and there is a massive selection of cars. There is a lot to do in the game, and it may take you a while to complete it as it is very difficult in parts. You and your friends will be able to stay up all night, screaming around the streets of Japan. This game is a must, unless you want to spend your money on Gran Turismo 2, which is even better!...
