.... We managed to arrange this trip on one of our excursions to Grand Baie, one of the tourist areas in Mauritius. Several businessmen have licences to book these trips for tourists, and tend to come up to you on the beach to tell you about the excursions and activities that they offer. Our trip was arranged through the same man who booked our Underwater Walk trip (which I have also reviewed on this site!) so we knew he was reliable. We were told that we had to book it a few days in advance, so that they could make sure the Catamaran was full to capacity for the trip. I think we booked it on a Wednesday and went on the trip the following Tuesday. We were told that the price for the day trip was going to be 1200 rupees. Water World!

Advantages: Amazing experience, great price, once in a lifetime thing!
Disadvantages: Not for those afraid of water lol

...When I found out I was going to Mauritius, I thought it would give me the chance to do one of the things that I have always wanted to do, and that is a Walking Underwater Experience. I love being in the water, and the thought of being in deep water, in an exotic island, amongst the fishes sounded like paradise to me. Therefore I was thrilled when I went to Grand Baie and they told me that they offered it as a trip! I instantly booked my place, and had to wait another week before I had the chance to go "under the sea"! As I just mentioned above, my Underwater Walking event happened in Grand Baie, which is one of the most beautiful tourist beaches in Mauritius. Dead as a Dodo? Alive and Kicking!

The Grand is truly Grand

Advantages: A comfortable hotel and great restaurant
Disadvantages: Quite a walk up the hill or steps if escalator is not on

...I had a very hectic Christmas last year cooking for the family and generally doing far too much eating and drinking, so when it came to New Years Eve I was worn out, and to be quite honest just could not face another knees up to see the New Year in. My husband came up with the idea of going for a pint at tea time then back home for a night in front of the television. I agreed with that idea and then he piped up that we would have to go to bed early because we were getting up at six in the morning to drive to Scarborough and staying over night in the grand Hotel. ...This Grand theft auto really takes a step forward from the others, the graphics are amazing, if you look at the cars they have so much detail in unbelieveable and when you hit other cars the damage to the cars is much more realistic now and now if you damage the car to much the engine will cut off and when you accelerate it will just keep trying to turn the engine on which is quite cool. The way you walk and other pedestrians walk is much more realistic now too, the way you drive is more realistic its quite hard to get used to on the old games you could go round corners really fast but on this you have to slow down for them otherwise you wont make the corner, which is good because its more realistic but you could say its not as fun. The MGM Grand is Grand Indeed!

Advantages: A fascinating place to visit and so much to see
Disadvantages: One can get worn out just trying to explore the whole hotel

...I stayed at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas for 3 nights and 4 days in August 2008 and can honestly say I had a great time. Please let me warn you that this is a fairly lengthy review of my experience. We got a taxi from the airport to the hotel which cost about $7 which worked out at less than £4 at the time. The first thing you notice about stepping out of the taxi and into the hotel is the fabulous air-conditioning. Vegas in August is VERY hot, well over 40o Centigrade! So it's really a relief to get out of that heat into the fabulously spacious lobby of the MGM and feel cooler straight away. On stepping inside the hotel (if you arrive by car) you are greeted by the large gold lion in the centre of the lobby in front of which it seems everyone who goes there for the first time rushes to have their photo taken in front of! We stayed in a Holliday Inn hotel near LAX, once we arrived here we found a brochure on VIP Tours and decided to go on what they call the most popular tour which was called the 'Grand Tour of Los Angeles'. It cost in American dollars $59 (adult) and $40 (child). One American dollar is roughly equal to roughly 0.6 United Kingdom Pounds.
