Grand Designs - an hour to dream in.

Advantages: Interesting, absorbing
Disadvantages: None, really!

...Grand Designs is one of my favourite ways to pass the time while waiting for the fella to finish work and come home. It makes a pleasant change to the dramas, rom coms and soaps and generally has a happy ending! Grand Designs is an hour-long programme on Channel Four, or one of the Channel Four family (more 4 etc) that follows people that are building or a restoring a property to live in. ...Having listened to my colleague rave about this home re-design programme, I finally managed to catch an episode on Monday night at 9pm on Channel 4. Boy was this a good decision to make. The basic storyline is that a camera crew follows someone who has purchased a run down property and shows what problems they face and the outcome of any restoration. The start of the programme is the background (I will use last night's episode as an example), a young Welsh couple from the Brecon Beacon's who have purchased a piece of land off their family which included a run down cottage without electricity or water. Grand Designs In Mind...

Advantages: Splendidly furnished, good room rates, very friendly staff.
Disadvantages: Minor hiccups; batteries in remote control etc...

...Grand, impressive and commercially alluring, the Thistle Hotels sparkle, on first sight with all the Georgian style of traditional English excellence. One could almost imagine Kevin McCloud striding through the grounds decorating it's themes with sheer grandness in his usual, colourful prose. Perhaps one could be slightly misled as to the very actual whereabouts of each magnificent structure. The hotel which I will embark on in this particular review is a classic example of such misleading quantities. However, what we found, apart from the little annoying things one always can't wait to find, we found our half way halt exactly what we had had in mind of a pleasant stay at a good price?and this included free parking of which there is ample and all of 170 spaces! The Grand is truly Grand

My husband came up with the idea of going for a pint at tea time then back home for a night in front of the television. ..., with a 5 star Euro NCAP rating, - if you have the misfortune to be run over, just pray that it is a new Punto Grande that hits you! From my point of view, as an experienced driver, safety actually has far more to do with dynamic factors. In my opinion, Fiat have always scored highly here, particularly with the smaller cars that traditionally they have been so good at designing. This latest Punto very much continues the tradition, feeling like a much larger and more expensive car in the way it stays rock solid on the road at speed (100mph). Advantages: A fascinating place to visit and so much to see
Disadvantages: One can get worn out just trying to explore the whole hotel
