The main shopping street is called Orchard Road and Scotts Road intersects it. Both streets are bustling with people night and day and definitely the busiest place in Singapore. Taxis are usually available outside and the concierge will call one for you if there is a shortage. If you want to get out and about via public transport there are bus stops within 200 yds and an MRT station within a 7 minute walk. It is one of the most convenient places to stay if you want to get out and about. If you like shopping this is an ideal location for you.   Life at the Grand Hyatt isnt always that Grand

...I had never been to New York until the 29th December, so I had no idea were to stay and how much I would need to be paying. Lucky for me I was travelling with some relatives who booked the holiday so I didn't have to spend forever trawling the Internet. I would not have had a clue what hotel to book, as I didn't know were the best places were and how much I should be paying. I thought my family knew this sort of thing but turns out they went to this hotel when they were lost to have a drink and thought it would be a nice hotel to stay in and that's how we came around to staying at the Grand Hyatt. The reception of the hotel is located on the 54th floor and the hotel offers stunning view of Pudong. There is French restaurant and Cantonese restaurant , steam and sauna, indoor swimming pool and gym and conference facilities. If you pay extra for the regency club floor, you will be checking in at 72th floor with a lounge offering non-stop food and drink for room guest 24 hours a day. Every room has a glass washing basin and an clever designed cupboard for storage and a transparent scale in the bathroom. ...I stayed in the Grand Hyatt for 12 wks. I must admit when I landed in Mumbai I was surprised of how close this hotel is to the airport...15mins. There is 2 Hyatts in Mumbai, one is called the Grand Hyatt, the other just the Hyatt. Ok first of all when I seen the outside of this Hotel I was well impressed, although I was a little worried about the security..first of all when we drove in the underneath of the car was checked...then as we drove to the front I seen 2 dog handlers and a metal detector that you have to walk through after you get all your bags checked... I suppose this is a good thing these days, so I wont complain about that!!! ...The Grand Hyatt Hotel is a relatively new addition to a modern development in the centre of Berlin. A low rise brick built (eight floors) multi-storey with a large neon sign at its summit, it is part of the lively environs of the Potsdam Platz. The approach to the main entrance once off the main road is somewhat unprepossessing but the streets around are girded by bistros (of which the hotel has its own), boutiques and a recently opened shopping arcade. The foyer is a cavernous place, dressed in brown and quite dimly lit. There is valet parking and a multi-story car park is near by. Grand Hyatt Time in Shanghai

...My fiancee and I stayed for 3 nights at the Grand Hyatt in Shanghai at the begining of August. It was fantastic! We were met at Pudong Airport ( which is so modern and efficient) by a new Buick, then taken to the Hotel. That took 45 mins. The luggage was taken on the ground floor, and as we had a Grand Club room, our check-in was on the 83rd Floor. Our room was on the 80th floor, and the view was amazing! We had a corner room, and views of the Bund and Pudong. The attention to detail was everywhere, and the double sided entry to the robe is a great idea. The Grand Club Lounge serves Breakfast, Afternoon Tea and Cocktails included in the room rate, which for us was $228US a night, plus 15% service charge. Week stay within Manchester Grand Hyatt

Advantages: Very Large - good location
Disadvantages: Poor staff - hyatt gold passport membership ignored

...Decided to travel around California staying with either Hyatt or Hilton (am a Diamond Hyatt member & Gold Hilton member). Booking On booking our stay via the internet (hyatt.com) - we reserved a standard room with a kings size bed. Decided to contact customer services explaining our requirements in advance (due to allergies). Arrival Travelled into Linchberg airport (San Diegos main airport) and taxi ride was $15 with a nice tip. Greeted by a doorman who opened the taxi door - but strangely didn't offer any assistance with the luggage. Main foyer is amazing - very large; high ceilings and polished floor. Hotel was very quiet with not many guests walking around. Desk staff stated that Regency Club floor was closed and I was to stay in the Seaport tower (23rd floor). ...As some of you may already know, I have recently returned from a lovely break in Houston, Texas. The main reason for our trip was to go to "Wrestlemania", the WWE's large yearly event. Yes it is slightly sad to travel 5000 miles for wrestling, but you only live once and I am indeed sad! To ensure the expense and hassle would be worth it, we added an additional 7 night's holiday to the trip, making it a 10 night get away. We booked our wrestling part of the trip direct with WWE and thought the packages sounded like the best deal for our money.
