Advantages: Reliable, powerfull, easy round town and good on the motorway Disadvantages: Heavy on fuel (V6) and choppy ride on rough roads
...I bought a GrandVitara 2.5 V6 for my wife in 2000, and have to say that it has been very good. She enjoys driving it as it's not too big for town, she can see over the bonnets of other cars and it has a powerful engine.
It's been reliable with the only real problem the replacement of the radiator at 60,000 miles. The alloy wheels still clean up like new and there is no corrosion on the body.
It copes well on the motorway and is quite quiet, however it is very heavy on fuel and I doubt if it does much more than 20 mpg on a run. As she only does 3,000 miles p.a. and around town it really isn't an issue.
The suspension is a bit too firm on rough roads and. The interior is cheap and cheerful but has lasted well, all except for the rear load cover where the plastic covering to the stays has broken off.
Overall it has been...

Review of Suzuki Vitara
Advantages: Four Wheel Drive Disadvantages: No visibility through rear window.
...We bought our Vitara from the local Suzuki dealer a few weeks ago.Its now been used on long and short journeys, round town and on the open road.
The engine is 1600cc.It has a 5 speed manual gearbox driven through the rear wheels with the option of 4 wheel drive for icy/snowy conditions.
Dont be fooled into thinking that this is a car for the serious off roader...its not.But it will get you out of a muddy field or down an icy road.
The interior of the car is basic. There is no sunroof,no electric windows,no air con and no c.d player.Though it does have central locking and an immobiliser fitted as standard.
Ours is the 3 door "estate" .Its only called an estate for insurance purposes (which is group 9 ),you only have to open the rear door to see that ! With the rear seats in use you would be hard pushed to get more than two...

Review of Suzuki Vitara
Advantages: A comfortable hotel and great restaurant Disadvantages: Quite a walk up the hill or steps if escalator is not on
...I had a very hectic Christmas last year cooking for the family and generally doing far too much eating and drinking, so when it came to New Years Eve I was worn out, and to be quite honest just could not face another knees up to see the New Year in.
My husband came up with the idea of going for a pint at tea time then back home for a night in front of the television. I agreed with that idea and then he piped up that we would have to go to bed early because we were getting up at six in the morning to drive to Scarborough and staying over night in the grand Hotel.
Scarborough is about three and a half hours drive from where we live so we took a steady pace travelling over the moors keeping away from the motorway. It was great no stress and gorgeous scenery. There was quite a lot of snow on the moors but the roads were clear...
Advantages: Reliability, Driving Position Disadvantages: Not too good in cross-winds
...the hub so rather than replace it I've left the front hubs in the drive position, the only downside is a little bit more noise and slightly worse mpg. Suzuki recommend operating the freewheel hubs on a regular basis - you've been warned!
Would I buy another? - if they still made it then YES. I can't say that I like the current Vitara in quite the same way (wonder why they call the SWB one 'Grand'?). It's lost the charm of the original and has too many gadgets like electric windows, central locking etc which to my mind aren't necessary on a base vehicle. Come on Suzuki, let's have another no-nonsense no-frills small 4x4 - you know it's what you do best!...

Review of Suzuki Vitara
Advantages: fun to drive, sturdy and reliable Disadvantages: Parts are expensive, thirsty if thrashed
...I really did not want my wife to pander to middleclass stereotype of the 4X4 mafia, charging the mean urban streets in there pointless gross trucks. Protecting there own family by endangering everybody else with there bulky petrol swilling tanks. But she wanted a "baby vitara" it was Japaneese so would be reliable, and handy for taking to the beach , camping and the like.
And sadly she was right, the Vit has now done 102,000 miles and little has ever gone wrong ( clutch at 90,000 and a new exhaust ) . Its fun to drive , but only if your definition of fun is loosing the rear end on wet islands. And its easy to park, beacause even if you miss judge the space the robustness of the bumpers and panel means you can ram your way in to spaces that a smart car would struggle with.
The driving positon is excellant, up high, looking own...

Review of Suzuki Vitara
Advantages: Central for location Disadvantages: Where do I start!
...I'm going to give you an honest, reliable, insider's review of the Grand Hotel, Scarborough.
"The Grand" is now, and has been, part of the Britannia group for the past few years. With the promise of a 7 million pound refurbishment program in place, I took the position of Food Services Manager, summer of 2005. I had recently moved to the area and knew little about The Hotels reputation?.only through research did I find the marvellous history of the building itself.
Built in 1863 as one of Europe's first purpose built hotels, The Grand Hotel boasts superb architecture with the design rumoured to be based on the theme of time.
Four towers represent the seasons.
12 floors represent the months.
52 chimneys represent the weeks.
Originally 365 bedrooms to represent the days of the year.
For entertainment, the Cabaret...
Advantages: Looks good inside and out. Disadvantages: Light on steering, weak plastic handles, high fuel useage in urban areas
...In 1999, my wife and I gained a Suzuki Vitara on the Motorbility Scheme (my wife is disabled). The vehicle attracted us mainly because of the ease to get into and out of the vehicle, as well as the fact that it is a nice looking car. Within the first year of our three year contract, we could not wait to the day we hand the vehicle back over.
In Suzuki`s defence, the vehicle is comfortable inside and all the controls are neatly laid out. The 4x4 has also been useful in winter conditions, especially in the Peak District area where we now live. However, that is all the good points that I have been able to find with this vehicle.
The car itself is VERY light on the steering and there have been a number of occasions where a heavy gust of wind has literally taken the vehicle off the road. The rear luggage compartment is...

Review of Suzuki Vitara
Advantages: None Disadvantages: Come away feeling very ill
...The Grand Hotel built in the late 1800s boosted to be the biggest man built building in Europe at that time. Constructed over 12 floors to represent 12 months of the year 52 chimneys, 365 rooms and 4 towers to mark the seasons of the year. In seeing the building and with great imagination you can see how fine and grand it was at that day of is peak. With great views from one side of the hotel overlooking the beach and harbour.
3 fine Ballrooms, 2 Restaurants, and a Grand Staircase guiding you up on to a balcony that looks down over the Grand Lounge.
A hotel that's was at its finest in its day and that has been allowed to decay over the years with little money ploughed in and poorly maintained has become the largest free standing heap of rubble in Europe that should have been closed down some time ago.
I began working for Butlins...
Advantages: Lots of facilities and good choice of restaurants Disadvantages: Rooms are more basic than you'd probably expected
...When I travelled to Jamaica with work we stayed in a few hotels in different locations and the one we stayed in whilst in Ocho Rios was this one. I have to admit that although I was looking forward to it I was a little disappointed to be moving from the hotel we had stayed at in Negril as it was a luxury hotel. So I was hoping that this one would be nice in its own way!
The hotel:
The Sunset Jamaica Grande is a hotel in the 'Sunset' group of hotels. The hotel is the largest of the three in the group and is rated as a 4 star standard. The hotel is made up of one main building and two tower blocks which are very easy to spot from a distance due to their bright yellow colour!
Location:
The hotel sits on the edge of the bay and in a prime position directly on the beach which is also private to hotel guests. The hotel is...
Advantages: Almost Everything about the hotel Disadvantages: The Cost
...The De Vere Grand hotel Brighton is an impressive hotel, part of the De Vere chain of over 25 luxury hotels. The De Vere website www.devere.co.uk has lots of information on the hotel and also some special offers. It is located on the Sea Front in close proximity to all of Brighton's major attractions.
The hotel has approximately 200 rooms, ranging from singles, to doubles to doubles with sea views to deluxe doubles with seaviews to suites. Prices range from £80 for a single B & B to £250 B &B for a sea view deluxe to £530 for a suite. I stayed in a Sea view deluxe, checking in on a Saturday and leaving after lunch on the following Sunday. I ate in the hotel for breakfast and Sunday lunch.
The Hotel looks Grand when you arrive. It is a really handsome building both internally and externally. Reception was impresive, as indeed were...
