Review of Grange Hill

JUST SAY YES

Advantages: Lots of great 80's tunes
Disadvantages: Apart from the title track and the era, what is the link with Grange Hill?

...When I saw this advertised round about Christmas time, and expressed an obvious desire for some of the tracks detailed, my wife decided it might make a nice stocking filler from the children. So having received it did I find it to be a cracker, or did I go all cold turkey over it. Once I have reviewed each of the individual tracks I am sure you will get a better idea. However, before I review the individual tracks I think it only right that I introduce the concept of Grange Hill to anybody who may not have heard of the likes of Zammo, Tucker, Gripper, Mr Bronson and co. Now for anybody growing up as a teenager in the later 1970's and the vast majority of the 1980s Grange Hill was the programme which we as kids all loved and our parents hated with equal aplomb. It's stood the test of time

...I have been watching Grange Hill on and off for about 22 (approx) years. It is a programme that has truly stood the test of time. I think it owes a great deal of it's success to the fact it has changed in the same way that life in a school has changed over the years. It is about a school "Grange Hill" which is a Comprehensive school set in London. It follows pupils from the first year through to the 6th form and each series, has a new intake of pupils. I remember in the early days, the opening credits had very crude moving cartoon pictures and great music. I don't think the music to the programme has changed much. In the early days, the subject material was a lot more prim and proper than it is today. There was nothing of a teenage sexual nature, bullying, divorce etc. It was more of the general everyday lifes...

The Great Grange

Advantages: Great Location, Huge Executive Rooms
Disadvantages: Quite expensive

...I stayed at the Grange Holborne for 2 nights in April 2005. The trip was a special birthday treat for my mother and it was important to me that the hotel was particularly special. When I was looking for a hotel for our stay I saw that this came highly recommended by a number of websites and so booked an executive twin at a cost of £135.00 per night. On checking in we quickly noticed that, although the reception area was quite small, the staff all seemed to be incredibly efficient and helpful. We arrived quite early and although our room wasn't ready they quickly arranged for us to leave our luggage so that we could get on with enjoying our trip to the big city. The Hills

...The Hills is my guilty little pleasure. There's backstabbing, friendships, boyfriends, clubbing, making up, breaking up, in fact this programme has everything! The Hills is actually a spin-off television series from the very popular show, Laguna Beach. This show followed a bunch of high school students through their life in Laguna Beach, California, a very affluent, beautiful area right on the coast of Southern California. One of the main characters was Lauren Conrad, often referred to as LC. She, in my opinion is quite a pretty, nice mannered girl, if somewhat spoilt. She has the clothes, looks, long blond hair and drives a very nice convertible car. I do like her and I think she is quite entertaining. THE GRANGE, LONG WITTENHAM, BED & BREAKFAST

Advantages: friendly owners, good location

...My husband is originally from Wallingford in Oxfordshire. Most of his family live in North Devon as do we, but we travel up occasionally to see some of his old friends. Last year we were looking for a cheap B&B in the Wallingford area and this was the closest that we could find. Long Wittenham is a lovely village which is about a 15 minute drive from Oxford. The village itself has three pubs which all serve good food and entertainment. The Grange is a small Bed & Breakfast in Long Wittenham. We have stayed there two years running over the Easter weekend so I thought I would write a review on them. Graham Neil runs The Grange. GTA meets Grange Hill

Advantages: Do the things in school you really wanted to do!
Disadvantages: Timing system is a pain at times

In the beginning of the game all these factions are out to beat you up although you are armed with some fighting moves to protect yourself. Your standing in each group alternates. For example, protecting a nerd will gain you respect in the nerds. The game starts you off with a new found friend, Gary, and most missions are based around him. The second chapter has you doing missions out in town and bike races, boxing etc. You wake up at 8am and go to bed at 2am, but time in between is managed by you. You can skip class to do missions or you can go to your classes to raise your abilities. The game has received bad press but it really isn't anything that bad. ...Where were you in 1978? Go on, tell me you weren't born, make me feel old! I turned nine in 1978, but that year saw the birth of Grange Hill, a BBC TV series set in a school which is still running today, with a new series due in 2008. I loved it at the time and watched it for several years, so when I heard the first four series were being released on DVD, I had to get them. I love nostalgia and classic TV from my childhood, so I knew it would be worth buying this on DVD - so I did.
