The Great Grange
Advantages: Great Location, Huge Executive Rooms
Disadvantages: Quite expensive
...I stayed at the Grange Holborne for 2 nights in April 2005. The trip was a special birthday treat for my mother and it was important to me that the hotel was particularly special. When I was looking for a hotel for our stay I saw that this came highly recommended by a number of websites and so booked an executive twin at a cost of £135.00 per night.
On checking in we quickly noticed that, although the reception area was quite small, the staff all seemed to be incredibly efficient and helpful. We arrived quite early and although our room wasn't ready they quickly arranged for us to leave our luggage so that we could get on with enjoying our trip to the big city.
Although the room we had reserved was an executive twin, I think we may have been upgraded to a mini-suite (I had emailed the hotel to tell them about Mum's birthday when I...

The sands unleashed
Advantages: graphics, storyline, stylish combat and acrobatic moves
Disadvantages: high requirements for such an old game, not easy for everyone
...getting hit. The prince can just jump over the opponent and hit from the back or even jump off a wall on an opponent and hit him with a powerful blow. The Prince can use his sword or the dagger whenever he wants, but the sand can only be collected with the magical dagger. As the opponents are not much acrobatic or agile, the Prince may be able to enjoy the fights, especially a few of the first ones.
THE PRINCE JUST GOES ON AND ON
The game's camera may be a bit confusing, and as one wrong move can finish off the game for you, and the sands are not unlimited, the game will really test the player's patience at times. The save points are not evenly distributed too. An in-game save feature could have made this game too easy as the game is more about doing the job quickly and continously. Princess Farah will also accompany you in...

Anyone for Moon Sand Crumble?
Advantages: None really - though a good idea in principle
Disadvantages: The sand figures fall apart
...available at £3.99 each, but do not include any of the moulds contained in the actual sets.
With such a wide range to choose from, we left it up to 'aunty' to decide which set Santa would be delivering on Christmas Eve.
On the big day, my son ripped open the wrapping paper as only a 4 year old knows how and, as expected, was over the moon (excuse the pun!) to discover his own little Moon Sand Pet Shop.
On opening the circular plastic container, we discovered it neatly packed with:
2 x bags of coloured Moon Sand (one purple, one grey)
A cardboard base representing the tiled floor of the pet shop, with pictures of cats and dogs, pet toys and a grooming area.
1 x plastic stand-up model of the pet shop building
3 x plastic moulds comprising a little girl figure, a dog and a cat
1 x plastic spatula to aid in moulding the sand...

THE GRANGE, LONG WITTENHAM, BED & BREAKFAST
Advantages: friendly owners, good location
Disadvantages: none
...My husband is originally from Wallingford in Oxfordshire. Most of his family live in North Devon as do we, but we travel up occasionally to see some of his old friends.
Last year we were looking for a cheap B&B in the Wallingford area and this was the closest that we could find.
Long Wittenham is a lovely village which is about a 15 minute drive from Oxford. The village itself has three pubs which all serve good food and entertainment.
The Grange is a small Bed & Breakfast in Long Wittenham. We have stayed there two years running over the Easter weekend so I thought I would write a review on them.
Graham Neil runs The Grange. It only has around four bedrooms, only one of which is ensuite. Mr Neil lives there with his wife and his two dogs, Florrie and Harriet.

Presthaven is a sanctuary in the sands
Advantages: Many things to entertain all in one place
Disadvantages: A little pricey at times
...being on the North Wales coast line you are never short of things to do if you do get bored on the site.
There are many places to visit, such as Conwy, Rhyl, Llandudno ,Snowdonia and the Mountain zoo.. Plus much, much more.
The cost for a more luxurious caravans are a bit over the top, especially during peak season, but what you get from the site and the surrounding scenic areas make up for the cost. If you choose to take full advantage of the site facilities then you will not have to spend money doing so as all is included in the cost of your holidays.
A full day can be had with a swim in the morning, followed by a full English breakfast at the Mash and Barrel. Then a pleasant walk along the stretch of golden sands to either Talacre on the East, or West towards Rhyl.
Then maybe hire one of the many single seated tricycles to explore...

Make a moon sand castle
Advantages: Great texture play
Disadvantages: Mat does not stay blown up, sand gets everywhere
..."What are you talking about?" I can hear you asking!
Moon sand claims to be 'sand that moulds like dough', it is not exactly wet, just made in a way that makes it mould like it is, whilst never drying out (as it is not actually wet, if that makes sense?)
Price: Around £20 for this particular pack.
My 3 year old son was bought this for his birthday earlier this month, so I thought I would share our experiences with you!
The pack contains 1 blow up mat, 1 sheet of scenery, 1 packet of grey coloured sand, 3 sand moulds and 1 spade thingy.
Firstly you have to blow up the play mat/carry case (coloured green and blue), this is designed to keep the sand contained in one area whilst being played with and somewhere to keep it when not in use.
When folded the mat measures about 40 cms long and 20 cms wide, when opened out it is...

Prince of Persia: Sands of Time
Advantages: Fantastically realised world, tight gameplay, great characterisation.
Disadvantages: Combat lacks variety, companion isn't very well implemented, story poorly structured.
...exploits before going on to meet the Sultan of Azad. In Azad, the transparently treacherous Vizier (is there any other kind?) tricks The Prince into releasing the Sands of Time from the Hourglass, which once unleashed turned all in the Sultan?s vast palace into sand zombies except the Prince, the captive princess Farah and the Vizier. The Prince fled from the Vizier, teamed up with the princess and the game begins as they try to undo the damage.
The fantastical air of the plot is complimented by the character?s mostly light-hearted mood. Cut scenes are brief, and often aren?t even plot related, mostly just panning over new areas to provide an overview of the new obstacles the player must overcome. There?s no real narrative arc, and the plot it only becomes a factor at the beginning and end of the game. After the initial catastrophe, the pair...

Ebony and Irony do Golden Sands
Advantages: Proper brand name Coke and large bottle servings - I'm easily pleased, y'see
Disadvantages: The busy areas are even busier at night
...There's a song that features on the soundtrack of many of my favourite films that goes:
"No matter where we go,
London, Paris, Rome,
It feels like Anywhere, USA"
It's never something I really understood, since to me those three capitals are all very different from each other, and to anywhere in the USA that I've been, but I figured it was written by someone who'd never actually left the States, and who based their assumptions on the Hollywood version of Europe that comes across in films. But, then I went to Bulgaria, and a week on my overriding thought is that Golden Sands could have been anywhere, really, or at least any package holiday destination - it has bits of Greece, bits of Spain, bits of Malta and bits of lots of other places if you take the time to look
Though people who (a) live there or (b) stayed a small distance...

Let your child explore and experience sand.
Advantages: great play resourse
Disadvantages: none
...today.
Play sand is better for your children to play with than builders sand as play sand will not stain like builders sand does. Play sand is recommended for use with children it specially graded for children and washed .
The play sand from Woolworths is not unlike the play sand from mother care the ELC or many other outlets. I bought it from woollies as it was easy for me to get and it was in the sale.
Why I think sand is a good toy.
Sand helps children develop many skills. Primarily it is a sensory experience good for using with my special children at school. Do not just encourage young children to feel it with their hands but let them put their feet on sand feeling the rough sand and the way their feet sink into it and let the sand run over their toes. Wet the sand and let your child feel that, make...

Gruesome Groosham Grange!
Advantages: Excellent Characters, storyline and descriptions
Disadvantages: It's difficult to put down!
...This book is a must read for all children, but not when they are too young! But be warned, once they start reading they'll be hooked!
I first read this book at the age of ten and instantly prompted my sister to do the same. My sister has never really been one for reading, until she read this, now she can't stop! This book has one of those great storylines which although you know it's been made up, does seem in places possible. O.K, so maybe the beginning is a bit unbelievable, with the father stabbing and running over the mother, but it had me laughing for days!
In this book, we follow a young boy, David who has been expelled from his super posh boarding school to a new school for which the prospectus mysteriously arrives. His parents, desperate to get rid of him instantly decide it is the school for him and he is packed off...
