...I stayed at the Grange Holborne for 2 nights in April 2005. The trip was a special birthday treat for my mother and it was important to me that the hotel was particularly special. When I was looking for a hotel for our stay I saw that this came highly recommended by a number of websites and so booked an executive twin at a cost of £135.00 per night. On checking in we quickly noticed that, although the reception area was quite small, the staff all seemed to be incredibly efficient and helpful. We arrived quite early and although our room wasn't ready they quickly arranged for us to leave our luggage so that we could get on with enjoying our trip to the big city. THE GRANGE, LONG WITTENHAM, BED & BREAKFAST

Advantages: friendly owners, good location
Disadvantages: none

...My husband is originally from Wallingford in Oxfordshire. Most of his family live in North Devon as do we, but we travel up occasionally to see some of his old friends. Last year we were looking for a cheap B&B in the Wallingford area and this was the closest that we could find. Long Wittenham is a lovely village which is about a 15 minute drive from Oxford. The village itself has three pubs which all serve good food and entertainment. The Grange is a small Bed & Breakfast in Long Wittenham. We have stayed there two years running over the Easter weekend so I thought I would write a review on them. Graham Neil runs The Grange. Review of The Grange, Long Wittenham

The Grange, good but it should be exellent !

Advantages: Good location, nice food , wi-fi service provided
Disadvantages: Limited parking space, over priced

...I'm a huge fan of York and frequently pay visits to this historic town, I have stayed in a fair few of the good hotels York has to offer. As a nice weekend treat in before christmas in december I decided to try The Grange as it holds a very high reputation throughout York and is generally seen as a quality hotel. Anyway on to my stay at The grange, first impressions the building is situated within waking distance from the town centre which is handy but the building is not set back from the road so noise can become a problem in the front rooms as the road in which it is located (bootham) is a main road in York and is busy at most times.Next onto the parking faciities, I consider these to be quite inadequate for a hotel of this size it has 40+ rooms with little room for more than 20 cars and also needs to allow space for people...

My favourite park!

Advantages: Lots of space and things to see and do

...I have lived near Wythenshawe park all my life and it?s somewhere I have been many, many times. It is an ideal place for many things and for me it is great for walking the dogs in. I shall give a little bit of information of Wythenshawe park and my personal opinion on it. The location: Wythenshawe park is fairly big and located in Baguley. The park has the long and very busy, main road named Altrincham road on one side of it and the M56 motorway running past it on one side. The park is easily reached from various points and is not that far from Manchester airport either or other surrounding areas such as Altrincham, woodhouse park or even Manchester city centre itself. Park and Ride

Advantages: excellent variety of things to do, good graphics
Disadvantages: small screen size makes it difficult to play

...I loved the Theme Park game on my PC, so when I saw that it was available for the DS, I jumped at the opportunity of purchasing it. For those unfamiliar with the format of the 'Theme' games, they are basically simulation games where you have to make as much money as you can!] In theme park world, this involves starting a theme park from scratch and building it as you like - designing the format. You also have to hire scientists and spend money on research and, every now and again (depending on your investment levels) they will come up with a new idea for a ride/shop/restaurant for your park. You have to correctly judge what your crowd will like/dislike and how much they will be willing to pay to gain entry to your park. There are other aspects that you need to manage - workers will strike over pay, stock levels for the restaurants...

Connaught Park

...I have lived in Dover my whole life and Connaught Park is the only park in Dover. Since moving in with my girlfriend and her two dogs, two years ago, I have found myself to be quite a regular visitor to Connaught Park as its a lovely place to walk the dog or to just chill on a summers day. History Connaught Park was the first park to ever be built in Dover and dates back to Victorian times. Connaught Park was first opened on 1st May 1883, although it was actually formally opened on the 14th of July 1884 by the Duke and Duchess of Connaught. A tree was planted near to the pond along with a plaque which commemorated the event. This tree and plaque still stand here today. When the park was first opened it covered 25 acres and had two entrances. Not long after it was first opened, it was decided that the park was going to be extended...

Disadvantages: You'll hate it if you don't like water!

...On a recent visit to Didim, a resort close to Bodrum in Turkey, eldest son, who had been there for a couple of months, insisted that we HAD to go to the water park. Not being a great fan, I agreed reluctantly, imagining all kinds of horrors...huge queues to get on any of the slides, cramped areas, and dirty pools. However, who am I to refuse? himself, being a fan of them wanted to go along as well, so the two of them eventually dragged me away from the pool, and off we went. Getting there... This was really simple, in that there is a courtesy coach which takes you from the centre of the town, passes Apollo and after 15 minutes, deposits you at the park. One thing to remember, though, whilst they are keen to get you to the park, at the end of the day, the coaches are VERY infrequent and have to be paid for, if you can...

Solway Holiday Park

Advantages: the farm and hot tub

...I have just come back from a week in the Lakes and have decided to try and have a go at reviewing the place we stayed. Solway Holiday Park is situated in Silloth Cumbria (about 22 miles west of Carlisle) which is small village with a population of around 3000. If you want a town with lots going on then Silloth is not for you, it has a lovely large green and a great sea view although it is not a beach. It also has cafes and the odd take away along with some little shops and of course a Spar (everywhere seems to have a Spar). Near the green is amusements which also sells refreshments. The park itself was quite easy to find I got the directions from greenflag. As we drove in through the entrance the reception was quite well sign posted, when we booked we were told booking in time was 4pm (which I thought was a bit late but...
