...for everyone, even the younger children, as there is no rudeness, bad language or bloodshed, (apart from one or two scenes where escaping prisoners are gunned down, but then this isn't really bloodshed), and it may even be a little educational for the younger viewer? With it being a sort of historical fact based movie it does tend to be a little long, this one being around three hours, so some people may get a little bored, although once you start watching the time simply flies by? Would I recommend this?? Yes I certainly would. It is a great film showing roughly how POWs lived during there stay at the Hotel Stalag? depicting there day to day routine, showing how there chain of command never diminishes even though they are under guard from the Germans? ...THE GREAT ESCAPE. The movie starts with prisoners being all brought to a new camp where the Germans hope to contain all of the best or from the Germans point of view, the worst escape artists that they have had to waste time and people chasing around the country. This camp has been especially built to contain them all. Regular number counts, difficult ground to tunnel in and all the inmates have their own identifying files kept and updated by the commandant. But they reckon without he intelligence and dogged spirit that the Americans and the British have in abundance. The plan is simple but daring to get out as many prisoners through a tunnel as humanly possible. 300 would be nice but anywhere close to that would be acceptable. Advantages: Beautiful woodland, great day out, potential team bonding, fun!
Disadvantages: Need to book, may get muddy!

An old movie or something?~~ Actually far from sitting on a sofa, The Great Escape is an amazing Woodland Challenge Course (huge assault course to you and me) with lots of exciting rope elements like a zip wire - where you are on a harness and whoosh down a wire rope at massive speed. This one happens to be 60m long. Burma bridge where you are high up balancing on a wire and holding on to two either side of you (wibble wobble!) and many other things including a tunnel that you and a group of people have to scramble through?well it would be rude not to being The Great Escape...

...Arguebly the best war film of all time. The great escape is set during WWII in a prisoner of war camp. The main aim of the film is for the prisoners to escape and flee to a safe area. The main characters are Hilts, Roger, Hendley. Firstly there is Hilts "the cooler king" as he was well known as in the film, because of his multiple daring escape attempts which did work but he was then caught the next day and sent to the cooler. Secondly there is Roger or the Big X, he was the man who organised the the escapes and did actually manage to escape but then he was caught and murdered in the final scene. Hendley or "the scrounger" as he was better known, got someone to divert the attention of the guards while he would steal something useful. The main escape plan in the great escape is to escape out of the POW camp via an underground tunnel...

Disadvantages: less recognisable cast for us youth

...eggs in one basket and watch this basket very carefully. Of course this idea is obsurd and after just entering the camp some of the men are already mastering their escape. To do this they would have to work as a team, and this leads to great relationship building between the men, captured brilliantly on film. Now, i am sure many of you will recognise more of the cast than i did but the biggest names are those of Steve McQueen, Richard Attenborough and Donald Pleasence, but the list is very long. As the men go about digging three tunnels, they have to think of ingenius ways of ditributing the dirt, getting the air down the tunnels, lighting, tools and many other things. Now this really does entertain, and some how makes the time fly by. This film really is all about the men, focus is always on them and we get to see...

...This is the second adventure with Rayman, this time he?s in 3D. As before the graphics are colourful and the sound effects and music are amazing. There are 20 levels to play all with a unique style and theme which will keep you playing for hours. Rayman is a cartoon styled character with arms, feet, head and a body but no arms and legs. He is played as a third person game, the camera angles are great and a rotate camera key can be used if the view is at an awkward position, the controls are slightly different to what I was used to in other third person games like Tomb Raider, but they are quite easy to get used to. In this adventure he encounters more weird and wacky characters and will enter many more new worlds than he has in the previous game. Great Intrepretation Of A Truly Great Escape

Advantages: Fantastic story, excellent performances, true to the real story
Disadvantages: Very few Hollywood action sequences

...Before i get in to the actual movie, i think it's important to point out that The Great Escape is very much based upon a true story. In World War II, the Germans grew tired of repeated escape attempts by POWs across the nation. As a way of putting "all their dirty eggs in one basket", the worst offenders were sent to a newly constructed camp; the infamous Stalag Luft III. Of course, what the Germans didn't consider was that by grouping the men together, they were subsequently grouping the very finest escape artists in the land. "For you, the war is over." A line famous as traditional German speech having captured a POW. But for these men, the war was far from over. Even the cover is naff! It features a holiday brochure style speedboat picture with the band on the back – nothing special.
