More than GREAT Ocean Road!
Advantages: Sights and scenery
Disadvantages: None that I can think of
...Great Ocean Road Day Tour
**GO WEST**
Go West is a touring company which specialises in small group size tours. It is a day tour from Melbourne which will take you to the Great Ocean Road. This tour company has something which I have never seen done before and that is they provide you with a PSP on the way home so you can watch a movie (they have several choices). They even have an educational video about the Great Ocean Road. If you want this service you will have to produce a passport, credit card or Australian drivers licence as a deposit for security. You will get it back as soon as you hand the PSP back.
**TOUR**
This tour cost me $95 which included morning tea. I thought it was fantastic value for the distance you travelled and how much you seen in one day. I do feel that the tour is targeted towards backpackers and it...

The Great North Road to Nowhere
Advantages: Unintentionally hilarious
Disadvantages: Too long, too rubbish
...My mother and I disagree on many matters but there are one or two subjects on which we can find common ground. For example, we both think that BBC news correspondent, and sometime presenter of "Newsnight", Gavin Esler is a rather handsome man. I also know that we will almost always have the same opinion on books we have read. Why then would I deliberately encourage my mother to read a novel that I had found to be truly awful, a wicked misuse of trees and a scandalous waste of the time it took to read it? Quite simply I needed reassurance that "The Great North Road" was as shamefully abysmal as I thought.
The book is set in 1950s Newcastle and this is the only reason I can think of for my local branch of Waterstones' having displayed it so prominently. I like the idea of supporting local authors, and the fact that the book was part...

'Great', or just 'Good'?
Advantages: Lots of pretty places to stop and rest or shop or eat, the 12 Apostles
Disadvantages: It's pretty....but it's just a road
...One of my big reasons for wanting to visit Melbourne was the possibility to do a day trip from there to the Great Ocean Road. I liked the look of it in my guide book, and put in on my must-do list for my trip, so as soon as I was booked for my weekend in the city, I set about finding a trip.
The building of the Great Ocean Road began in 1919, and since then new bits have been added and the road extended until it reached its current form. It now officially starts at Torquay and finishes at Allansford though roads continue from these two places - but since they don't run by the sea except between these points, they don't come under the official moniker. Various options for seeing the road are available. You can self drive, doing it in a day or staying over, or take an organised tour of between 1 and 3 days or more, with longer ones...

Going West
Advantages: Punctual and clean.
Disadvantages: No trolley service; difficult to buy tickets in advance.
...Most of my experiences of travelling by train in the past have been with South West Trains or Southern, neither of which has impressed me with punctuality. More recently, I have travelled several times with First Great Western from Portsmouth to Bristol; punctuality has been a strong point, but there is room for improvement in other ways.
I found it easy to look up times of trains and prices of tickets on the website, and it soon became obvious that buying two single tickets in advance was usually cheaper than buying a return. Prices seem to vary according to how busy a particular train is and to how far in advance you purchase your ticket. The disadvantage with buying a cheap ticket is that you are tied to a particular train (on which you have a reserved seat) and if you miss it your ticket is not valid on the next train. If you buy...

The Wilder West
Advantages: Unspoiled wilderness, fascinating sights and sites
Disadvantages: Persistent rainfall, persistent sandflies
...Ross down to Franz Joseph Glacier, a distance of about a hundred miles, one sees only about half-a-dozen hamlets, and the occasional sheep station. Moving south, the hilly pastures increasingly give way to forests, and the peaks loom ever higher up ahead.
Somewhere along this road we enter the South West New Zealand World Heritage Area, which encompasses thousands of square miles of wilderness, stretching all the way down beyond Westland into Fiordland with its dramatic deep-water sounds. They will be covered in a separate review. Long before we reach them, there is still plenty to be seen in Westland, starting with the glaciers.

The Westland National Park, encompassing the Franz Joseph and Fox glaciers, lies in the shadow of Mount Cook, New Zealand's highest mountain...

Tame Tame West
Advantages: Some good fight choreography
Disadvantages: Acting and script leave a lot to be desired, special effects are tired
...In 1999, a good combination of cast and crew got together under the directing prowess of Barry Sonnenfeld to create what was possibility the most disappointing film of the year. Wild Wild West had great potential to be an awesome film. So, where did it go wrong?
The Plot
Captain Jim West and US Marshall Artemus Gordon are two of the most skilled gunslingers and trackers in the US. Trained on opposite sides of the law enforcement spectrum, they must team together in order to rescue the President from the clutches of an evil madman, who also happens to be an inventor with a thousand different toys to throw at the two heroes as they assail him in order to succeed in their mission.
The Cast and Performances
Will Smith heads what should have bee a good cast in this Western with a difference. He plays Jim West, who upholds the law...

The Back Road to a Great Read
Advantages: Wonderfully captivating!
Disadvantages: I hope they don't make the film!
...?d borrowed several years ago and wanted to read again, as I?m no longer in touch with its? owner, I sought a second. My eyes lit upon Tawni O?Dell?s ?Back Roads?, and the memory of a great review and recommendation from Trevor came to mind. And, after all, I already had £8 worth of book, which meant that, in effect, it was only going to cost me £2, so what did I have to lose? So, off the shelf it came.
It didn?t really look like my kind of book. I?ve read a lot off different stuff over the years, from horror to thriller, from fantasy to, yes, Bridget Jones. But nothing quite like this. A colleague picked it up off my desk on the Wednesday morning and commented that it didn?t sound like the sort of thing I?d be reading. But by that Tuesday lunchtime I was entranced, and by Wednesday night, I was completely sucked in.
Do you know how it...

Wild West Pinball
Advantages: Addictive
Disadvantages: Only one level
...So, here's another iPhone Application for your approval...and it is of course free! It's the Wild West Pinball game. (Waits for applause...)
Being a free game from the manufacturers, OOOGameprom, you may not expect much from it...but low and behold, you'll soon find yourself addicted. The old ones are the best and all that!
Now, unless you've had your head in the sand forever then you'll all know the concept of pinball. Using the paddles at the bottom of the table to smack the ball around in an attempt to collect points by hitting various parts of the table or making the ball travel in various spaces. This is obviously no expection. The layout of the table is a glossy wooden one with red trim. As the title of the game suggests, it has a wild west theme...a large cowboy aiming a gun is the icon for the application when sat on your i...

Go West!
Advantages: Great online banking service, great Customer Service
Disadvantages: Slightly higher charges than their competitors
...and the Small Business Unit in 1982. The Switch debit card extended the electronic transfer of money to point of sale in 1988'.
Natwest offer a wide range of banking and financial services to Personal, Business and Commercial Customers.
I have been a Natwest Bank customer for just over 8 years. I first joined when I left School in June 1997 and got my first job. The job required that my wages be paid direct into a bank account.
*Why Natwest?*
My mum and dad had been with Natwest for as long as I could remember. It seemed a natural choice for me to bank with them too. My local branch was only 5 minutes away (in the days before I did all my banking online, this was great) and so the decision was made for me really.
My mum took me to my local branch and, as I recall, the branch Manager handled my application and attempted to talk me...

On the Road, On the Mind!
Advantages: The feeling that you're holding the author's hand the entire time.
Disadvantages: Spontaneous prose will not necessarily suit everyone's tastes
...On The Road is an exciting and enchanting perpsective on post-war America's cultural enlightenment, denoting a people's social revolution on the backdrop of an American 'halcyon' idealism.
It highlights the desperate yet opportunistic nature of the 'beat' generation as they expand their horizons across the huge stretch of an entire continent.
Outlining the experiences and revelations of a fragmented group of college peers and other random associates, it delves into the fiery-hearted life of drug experimentation and liberal thinking, in a decade where the clasp of the state was becoming ever more relinquished. As a psuedo-biographical work the author loosely basis the narrator, Sal Paradise, on his own turbulent past, and specifically that of the character he befriends and idolises, Dean Moriarty. The scope of the events that...
