Advantages: Great movie, wonderful performances, brilliant direction and a terrific script
Disadvantages: The DVD extras are almost none existant

...By most people?s standards, I am quite a little movie buff and will generally watch anything and everything when it comes to the movie world. My favorite genres are most definitely the 'Horror/Sci fi' and 'Action' films and the 'Drama' section is my least favorite, I do prefer films that go crash, bang, wallop to something you have to sit and listen to. It may come as a surprise then, that I am about to give such high acclaim to a drama movie. The Green Mile staring Tom Hanks is an exception to my fast paced standards, the movie has just about everything in the mix to suit almost everybody's tastes. Al Green

Advantages: Great songs

...Most people are surprised when they hear about my musical tastes. Most see me as someone purely into heavy metal, my friends as heavy metal and clasic rock, but even my very close friends don't seem to understand how far my taste goes. I have always loved every type of metal and some rap and dance but it is only recently when i discovered the wonders of 70's Soul and funk. ...A friend lent me this book this week, I started reading it yesterday afternoon having been off work with a stomach bug and finished it this morning. I had never heard of the author Susan Fletcher and wasn't aware of the novel which had won the 2004 Whitbread First Novel Award and was on the Richard and Judy Summer Read list 2005. However it transported me to the Welsh rugged countryside and helped take my mind of feeling unwell and gave me some inspiration to write another review. The story is told by Eve Green the central character in the novel and she is 29 years old and expecting her first baby. The book describes her memories from when she was 7 years old, that was when she first learnt to fully write her own name "Evangeline Green" and when her mother died. Tuborg Green - A Very Good Lager.

Advantages: good taste, good price for the quality, pull ring caps on bottles.
Disadvantages: not as widly available as other lagers.

...Hot on the heels of The Football Factory  comes another attempt at understanding the British thug sub-culture. This time (in an obvious attempt to increase American awareness) Elijah Wood is cast at the centre of it all, playing a Harvard journalism student turned hard-edged football hooligan. Sound ridiculous? It pretty much is. Green Street is not a hugely terrible film, but it is difficult one to take seriously. Dookie - Green Day

Advantages: pop music

...'Welcome to Paradise' was originally included on the bands 1992 album 'Kerplunk', however was rerecorded for the 'Dookie' album and is one that I feel has been pulled off incredibly well here. It is one of my favourite Green Day tracks and every time I listen to this one I smile. The vocals are strong, the chorus is excellent, and the guitars shine through magnificently as the band smash this one out with great attitude and a huge level of excitement. The band sound so full of life and energy here, this is in my opinion Green Day at their very best. 'She' is another of my favourites from this album. It is a well written track and once more shows the band at their best I feel. It's quite soft in sound but the lyrics are hard hitting and it works extremely well at the centre of this album I feel. The Green Ship is written and illustrated by Quentin Blake, who you will probably know from his illustrations for Roald Dahl. As well as providing illustrations for many other children's authors, he has also written his own books, some of the most well known are Mister Magnolia and Clown. He was Children's Laureate in 1999 and generally considered a national institution. Making cheesecake isn?t too hard but its faffy and generally there are things I would rather be making in my kitchen. In Asda, (well on asda.com), I saw these cheesecake mixes for a mere 55p each and decided it would be rude not to try them. You get a box much like the boxes on any other cake mix and it contains a little packet of biscuit crumbs, (to form the base), and a packet of cheesecake filling mix. ...Never before have I seen a film that has done the book justice. The Green Mile was adapted from the book with the same title written by Stephen King. Because I had read the book first, quite some time ago, I wasn`t expecting it to be that good even though I`d read some great reviews about it. Death row is known as the long mile, but because this row had green flooring it was named the green mile.
