Thai Green Curry Monster

Advantages: Everything
Disadvantages: None that I can think of

...Thai green curry monster?that?s what I feel like recently, trying every variety of Thai green or otherwise curry. But by far, this has been my favourite and again it?s from ASDA! I am something of a curry-a-holic, so after reading a review of someone?s Thai green curry, I just had to give it a go. There were loads of different types and methods to choose from, kits, cooking sauces etc, but knowing myself to being a complete lazy git I decided to go for a microwave meal. This is the one I found, ASDA Good for you Green Thai curry and rice. Good for me? It looked far too nice to be good for me! I must say though, that I didn?t just pick it because it was low in fat (that was just an added bonus). But it was the only microwavable Thai green curry that I could find?so me being a sceptic, I was already convinced that it would probably...

Yummy Thai Green Curry

Advantages: Really filling and full of flavour
Disadvantages: none

...If you are a lover of Thai food or even Chinese and curry I think you will love this product. Years ago I couldn't eat anything that was remotely spicy but over the years I have been converted and love a variety of foods. Then my father visited Thailand for a holiday with my Mum and some friends. He came back raving about the food and we all found a restaurant and tried it along with them. I fell in love with the Thai Green Curry. It has so much flavour and leaves a lovely aftertaste in my mouth. I did think though when going through the ready meals at my local Tesco's that there was no way they could make a ready meal as nice as the one we had in the restaurant. HOW WRONG WAS I? Very! This is the best ready meal I have ever tasted and cooks in no time at all. The description on the box is as follows: Thai Green Chicken...

Going green

Advantages: Different to other curries.
Disadvantages: Tastes horrid!

...We like a nice simple curry every so often but have got rather bored of the usual sauces you can buy and so when we last visited Asda we went for this small jar of Thai Green Curry Sauce. At just 97p it was a bargain you must agree! I have never had Thai Green Curry unless it is from a ready meal not that I eat them very often. I have always enjoyed the taste of the ready meals so thought this could only be better but it wasn't! It is described as A green Thai curry sauce flavoured with coconut, coriander, lemongrass and lime leaves. And comes in a 315g jar which is ideal for two people rather than the ridiculously large jars where we waste some of it. This had a strange powdery texture and the taste was over powered by lemongrass it really wasn't nice at all. It was slightly hotter than I was expecting also but not so much that...

A Curry and a Pizza

Advantages: Yummy
Disadvantages: None

...Recently I had made some Chicken and Pineapple kebabs for tea and was left with 1/2 a tin of pineapple rings in the fridge. The following day I was thinking what to do for tea using the Pineapple rings and as it was Saturday, it is normally curry night in the Paulpry cottage. My favourite from the local Indian Takeaway is a Chicken Balti Kaghani which is made from mint sauce, cream, pineapple and mushrooms, so with me being the adventurous type when it comes to cooking thought I would try to make it. I gave it a go and served it up to my husband without telling him what it was it it tasted nearly as good as the one from the Indian. This curry is a flavoursome curry with using cream and mint sauce. So here is the recipe. Serves Two 1 Onion chopped 18p 1 Chicken Breast per person cubed about £1.50 per Breast 2 fresh Green...

Review of Recipes for Home Made Curries

Simple curry paste!

Advantages: tasty, easy to use!!! The perfect spiciness for me!
Disadvantages: Not suitable for those with a nut allergy!

... Pataks Original curry paste Introduction When I moved into my own flat with my husband, I had to learn to cook for myself, although I had cooked a lot before at my parent?s house, but not really much, so for the first couple of weeks we lived off jars of pre made curry and chilli, and simple things that I didn?t have to worry much about and didn?t require much skill. But pretty soon that got very boring! We seemed to be eating the same things over and over again, and it was a getting expensive too buying these jars for almost everyday. As my confidence in the kitchen grew, I started making things from scratch rather than using jars all the time! But curry was the one thing I couldn?t make myself, I had no idea where to start, so my only option was the jars. But then I found this curry paste. It only cost...

The Ultimate Curry Bible?

Advantages: Very comprehensive, interesting background facts, tasty recipes
Disadvantages: Large amount of ingredients can be off-putting, a lot of reading, quite expensive.

...I ordered this book as I enjoy curries and thought it would be enjoyable to make my own. Madhur Jaffrey is one of the most succesful Indian cooks and is a best selling cookery author so I thought this book would be the place to start. First of all this book is very visually appealing - the cover is quite pleasing and not over the top. The real pleasure begins when you open the book however, as it has beautiful pictures and illustrations in the introductory chapter and at the beginning of each section. Madhur Jaffrey begins her book with an introduction which explains the origins and history of curry and how it has evolved over time. The book has recipes not only from India but from Singapore; Malaysia; Indonesia; Thailand; South Africa; Kenya; the UK; Trinidad; Guyana; Japan and the USA. She explains how immigrants have adapted curry...

This earns me Brownie Points!!

Advantages: Tasty, very easy to make!
Disadvantages: Not quite spicy enough

... ASDA THAI GREEN CURRY SAUCE My wife is a big lover of Thai Green Curry, when I'm feeling 'flush' I do take her out to our local Thai restaurant ( so not that often then!!) We love all curries and normally I make mine from scratch, but with the Thai curries it tends to would cost a lot to make from scratch and is a bi complicated for an oldie like me, but this sauce is just £1 for a 315g jar. I use prawns, fish or chicken with this sauce which is a mix of coconut, coriander, lemon grass and lime leaves, I think they go better than red meats. One negative I have is that on the front of the sauce mix, it says this is of medium heat, its not, and as far as I was thought it was very mild, but was still scrummy and you can add spices. Its extremelly simple to make, basically cook your chicken or fish in a shallow pan...

Currys Always Cutting Service

Advantages: lots of stores around, access via the net
Disadvantages: Staff are useless, customer service is worse than useless.

...£550 aprox. Currys on the otherhand- offered s*d all, they refused to take my mum's (whom is 70 and 3 stone under weight, suffering from high blood pressure) old washing machine- as the door was jammed shut and there was water in it- (How exactly does one force open the door and drain the water away - without flooding the kitchen?) they did not unpack and check the new machine- which they state they do on their web site, they were two days late delivering, and finally- they did not plumb in the new machine- which we paid them to do when placing the order- they claimed they could not plumb it in due to the pipes being wrong- erm- so how did the other machine work then? The real reason is- the area is small and it is a fiddely job- they just couldn't be bothered. I called the number listed for their head office- but it seems head office...

CURRYS THE WORST STORE IN THE WORLD

Advantages: NOT ONE, UTTERLY USELESS STAFF AND POOR PRODUCTS
Disadvantages: POOR SERVICE, EGAR TO TAKE MONEY AND NOT CARE ABOUT AFTER CARE TO CUSTOMERS

...eventually came over he didnt know what camera i was talking about and then half way through serving me started chatting to his 'mate' who had turned up. He failed to ask me for insurance or CURRYS payment protection scheme and took three attempts to get my card working in the machine. I left the store a little unsatisfied but put it down to the young staff member being inexperienced. However it was not until six weeks later did i start having real problems with the camera and the aftercare service of CURRYS. After six weeks, although the camera had been working fine as i had expected, i found the camera would not charge through my USB cable via my compuer that had come with it. The camera itself had a chargable battery inside and so i could not buy normal or rechargeable AA batteries. The green light to show it was charging did not flash...

No Frills Beef Curry

Advantages: Cheap and Healthy
Disadvantages: Nothing

...Beef Curry Recently cooked this for my wife and I and it was surprisingly simple. A delicious beef curry, not with too many frills but just right. It will easily serve 2 and takes about 45 minutes, which includes the prep time as well! Your Ingredients: 200g stewing beef. 1 red pepper. 1 onion. 1 Tablespoon of curry powder. 1 Tablespoon of Tomato Puree. 1 tin of chopped tomatoes. Optional: 1 clove of garlic Cooking: 1. Chop the beef into cubes, about 1 or 2cm square and brown them off in a pan for about 5 minutes 2. Add the chopped onion and pepper and cook for a further 5 minutes. (Garlic can also go in here but as we are both not a fan we missed this out). 3. Add in the tablespoon of Curry powder and stir in. 4. Add in the tin of toms and the Tomato puree. 5. Simmer gently...
