Wonderful Literary Chick Flick Trilogy Box Set

Advantages: Well acted, Great Book Adaptation Storylines, Fun for All Ages
Disadvantages: Each Movie is About Three Hours Long

...Everytime I hear someone mention "Anne of Green Gables" I instantly remember my childhood. It's so rare nowadays for the current generation of children to be interested in movies based on literature without violence, sex, or action. This should be an outrage since there is so much to be gained from great pieces of older literature. My dearest hope is that some younger ones out there get to experience the wonder and story of Anne Shirley. If your not familiar with this movie trilogy or the books, let me help you understand in a brief summary. Advantages: Superb casting; pitch-perfect turns by Follows, Dewhurst, Farnsworth; splendid adaptation of the first ?Anne? book.
Disadvantages: At 195 minutes of running time, it still leaves you wanting more.

Advantages: Wholesome, great characters, some humour, some moving sections
Disadvantages: Not for those who like high excitement and action, a little old-fashioned for some

The Green Gem

Advantages: Great movie, wonderful performances, brilliant direction and a terrific script
Disadvantages: The DVD extras are almost none existant

...By most people?s standards, I am quite a little movie buff and will generally watch anything and everything when it comes to the movie world. My favorite genres are most definitely the 'Horror/Sci fi' and 'Action' films and the 'Drama' section is my least favorite, I do prefer films that go crash, bang, wallop to something you have to sit and listen to. It may come as a surprise then, that I am about to give such high acclaim to a drama movie. The Green Mile staring Tom Hanks is an exception to my fast paced standards, the movie has just about everything in the mix to suit almost everybody's tastes.
