Review of Rimmel 60 Seconds Nail Varnish by
piggypine
Advantages: Great colours, long lasting, easy to apply, quick drying
Disadvantages: Metallics are tricky to remove
...I was wandering around my local Superdrug recently, having a pregnancy induced funny five minutes that saw me feeling very sorry for myself, when I spotted a nice and bright row of nail varnish bottles on the Rimmel stand, deciding that I deserved a little treat I decided to make the most of the 2 bottles for £4.50 offer and was immediately drawn to a green colour, unsure of what other colour to purchase I remembered I'd been thinking of getting a girly pink shade and so selected a metallic looking salmon pink and headed off to the till, I couldn't wait to get home and try out my new Rimmel 60 seconds nail varnish and hopefully cheer myself up a little.
Rimmel have released several nail varnishes in the past that promise to dry in 60seconds and this is just the newest in a long line of different varieties and styles, coming...

NYC Nails
Review of NYC Nail Varnish by
piggypine
Advantages: Great Colours. Cheap
Disadvantages: Takes ages to apply a good depth of colour.
...I've reviewed a few nail varnish brands in the past and here I'm about to talk about my most used brand N.Y.C. I don't often have the time or inclination to put on a full face of slap but I do always like to make sure my hands look good and that includes a fun application of nail colour.
N.Y.C make up at least appears to be a Superdrug only range, an affordable line that caters for all your budget make up needs, from eyebrow pencil sharpeners to glitter shadows, pressed powders to mascara, but the product that use most frequently is their nail varnish. N.Y.C nail varnish comes in a wide variety of colours from the classic pinks and reds to more vibrant blues, greens and mauves, it is this variety that attracts me to the range more than anything as I love to have a little fun with my nail varnish, many of the expensive brands don...

Cheap and cheerful nails!
Review of Collection 2000- Nail Varnish by
kimbahop
Advantages: Good price and range of colours
Disadvantages: Chips easily
...*INTRODUCTION*
This is a review of the nail varnishes I have tried from the Collection 2000 range.
Collection 2000 are a brand made by the cosmetics company Constance Carroll, who are located in lovely Skelmersdale in the north west, not far from where my nan lives! (In case you're interested, i've seen the house of the owner and it's pretty impressive. He has deer and everything).
They aim to produce low priced but good value products which I think are targeted more towards the younger end of the scale. It was a godsend to me when I first started to buy makeup products with my £5 a week pocket money!
In this review I'm going to be talking exclusively about their nail varnish products, but they make every other type of cosmetic you could imagine, from foundation to mascara and everything in between.
Like I said, I first...

Opi Nail Varnish (Atomic Orange)
Review of OPI Nail Varnish by
yazoo88
Advantages: Bold colour, only needs one coat, easy to apply
Disadvantages: Quite expensive, hard to find in shops
...I decided to buy this nail varnish after having a disaster on holiday where I dropped my full bottle of Jessica coral nail varnish on the villa floor spilling the entire contents over my leg and the floor! : (
I liked the Jessica colour but I wanted something more orange…after searching the whole Jessica range and not finding anything I tried the Opi nail varnishes and found the 'Atomic Orange' colour, which looked bright orange! I wouldn't have had the next idea about where to find Opi nail varnishes, other than beauty salons which was where I had first noticed the brand. So rather than buying off the official site I tried ebay and found the right colour on there for £6 inc postage, which seemed a lot cheaper that anywhere else.
Packaging
I was a bit worried whether it would be the same colour it looked on the internet...

Maybelline Watershine Nail Varnish
Review of Maybelline Watershine Nail Varnish by
jeszikca
Advantages: Makes a good top-coat
Disadvantages: 'Watershine' is a lie, it's bulky, very runny, streaky
...I was drifting around Superdrug, feeling rubbish and looking for something fairly cheap to buy to make myself feel better - there was a promotion on Maybelline Watershine Nail Varnish - buy one get another half price, so I bought a clear one and a pale pink one, for about £6. I saw a wide range available, but the shade I chose was White Light (a pale pink) and the matching top-coat. I saw everything from deep purples to shimmery golds, so there are lots to choose from.
It comes in a square clear bottle, and is quite bulky. The lid is the same colour as the nail polish, and in silver letters on the front, you have MAYBELLINE WaterShine, and in smaller letters, Wet Look, High Shine. It contains 12ml, and costs £3.99 for one bottle.
The first thing I noticed when I unscrewed the lid was that it's quite runny, not at all like other...

Collection 2000 the nail varnish you can trust
Review of Collection 2000- Nail Varnish by
F1Princess
Advantages: Great coverage
Disadvantages: ---
...Collection 2000 has become a well known brand over the last few years and I have quite a few of their products due to their wide range and price which is normally very reasonable.
One of the best products I have found from the range are the nail varnishes. I have a large selection due to the fact I am a massive nail varnish and nail art fan.
Due to this fact I have used many different brands but have found collection 2000 to be one of the best.
I have both the 8ml Hot looks bottles and the 12ml maxi flex.
8ml bottles include shades:
4 Charisma
7 Glam
9 Catwalk
12 Minx
14 Boho
23 Show off
24 Shameless
12ml bottles include shades
324 Hello Sailor
246 Latin Lover
Being a bit of a glitter fiend many of this have that added sparkle and even...

Superdrug metallic varnish = Lots of compliments
Review of Superdrug- Nail Varnish by
Sara82
Advantages: Pretty colours
Disadvantages: More than one coat needed
...I received 7 bottles of superdrug nail varnish as part of a birthday present and have to say that since then I haven't tried any other brand.
The particular varnishes that I got were all metallic colours ranging from metallic black to metallic green and I'm pleased with every one of them.
Some metallic nail varnishes that you can buy can be really hard to get off your nails, especially if they are glittery, but I find that this particular brand is quite easy to get off. The silver nail polish almost looks like tiny bits of tin foil so it is very reflective and pretty. It can sometimes leave a slightly rough texture, which doesn't bother me but might bother others.
My favourite colour is brown which shines gold in the light, and I have had a lot of compliments when wearing this varnish, the more compliments I get the more I talk...

Yves Rocher Luminelle Nail Varnish
Review of Yves Rocher Luminelle Nail Varnish by
leebee81
Advantages: Cheap, many colours, applies ok
Disadvantages: Extremely small bottle
...also ordered the matching lipstick (this will be a future review). The nail polish was 99p.
The nail polish comes in a 3ml glass bottle with a silver plastic lid. As standard for nail polish, thelid doubles as a brush. Be aware, 3ml looks and is, a tiny bottle. To me, this is a good thing - 99% of the time I bin my polishes before they are done because they either go gluggy or I get over the colour. Im thinking with this size, I will use up the colour.
The polish itself is thick but not gluggy, which is good for a dark colour like this. I found two coats were necessisary for even, opaque covage but that is standard for dark colours. A top coat (I used a clear nail varnish) helped protect the colour and ment it lasted a lot longer when I used it. Without, it lasted 2 - 3 days - not too bad for a darker colour.
Be warned...

A true Nail Varnish of substance
Review of OPI Nail Varnish by
tatootart
Advantages: the colours
Disadvantages: hard to get
...I am one of the ladies who will pay alot to look after and have long nails.
You have to use the OPI brand to know what you are missing.
They offer the luxury nail varnish(lacquer) which are always deep in texture and colour.
Put on one coat and the coverage is excellent put on 2 and away you go.
They offer many colours from the deepest cherry to the translucent colours, blues, pinks and lilacs.I have never had a colour of theirs on, which has not been commented on.When I have a spell and lose my nails i wear a lighter colour and my nails will still look good.
I have purchased most of mine from QVC and they average out about £5 - £6.00 ,this does seem dear when rimmels can be £1.49 , but believe me you have the quality.
They sell them usually in a set and you can get the lipsticks to match some of the colours. These are lovely not alot...

Miss Selfridge Nail Varnish
Review of Miss Selfridge - Miss Selfridge- Nail Varnish by
jugglingspinster
Advantages: Good colour, application, needed only one coat
Disadvantages: Fiddly to apply, small bottles
...After buying a Miss Selfridge nail varnish ('Grumpy') in their sale recently I was surprised at how good it was. It needed only one coat, so far hasn't stained my nails, didn't chip easily, dried quickly and with a good, strong colour. The only disadvantage is the small, fiddly bottles and brushes that come with it. They have a good range of colours in store, though are a little expensive for the size of the bottle (small compared to most) and the more interesting colours can often be found in the sale bin......
