It's not Grim in Grimsby
Advantages: Nice people (like me),some great clubs & pubs, some great places to visit
Disadvantages: The weather
...HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS !!!!!
I have lived in Grimsby all my life, I was born in the Grimsby maternity hospital and grow up here and I wouldn't move away even if somebody payed me, well maybe.
Grimsby is located on the Humber Estuary on the north-east coast of England and is easily reached by road, rail, air or sea. Grimsby is the main town in North East Lincolnshire with a population of 91,000
A FISHY JOUNERY !!!!!!!!!
Grimsby was the world's largest fishing port back than in the 19th century, but today the port is a major centre of food processing.
~*~*~* LET'S GO SHOPPING ~*~*~*
I love shopping,I could spend all day shopping, our shopping centre is quite big,it is really nice and clean inside,it's not New York but it will do for me.
Freshney Place is North East Lincolnshire's premier shopping centre and is...

Grimsby - Yes, there is more to it than fish
Advantages: A different and interesting holiday destination.
Disadvantages: Not a great range of things to do, but a great place to base yourself to explore.
...Ah, Grimsby. Home of all things fishy and trawler shaped. Well not really any more actually. Perhaps not the nicest place you'll visit in the world but it is an exceptionally interesting one.
Grimsby was once the largest fishing port in the world, not just in Northern Britain, but the whole world, and that includes places like the Seychelles, India and Bedfordshire! Nowadays, because of the decline in the fishing industry it is a shadow of it's former self.
Grimsby has tried hard to redevelop but because it is so out on a limb it is difficult to get large companies to develop here, however there is a thriving frozen food industry and the port is still used for a number of things.
So, what can you do if you visit Grimsby? Well you could go to Blundell Park to see the Mighty Grimsby Town play, oh, you want to do something...

Jewel of Grimsby!
Advantages: cheap
Disadvantages: busy
...Overview
------------
Cleethorpes is on the North East coast. Over the past 40 years it has seen a real decline, however in recent years it's staging a bit of a come back!
Location
-----------
Just past Grimsby. Its pretty easy to get to Grimsby but once there the traffic starts. It is quite time consuming to move the 2 to 3 miles from Grimsby to Cleethorpes especially on a warm summers day. Just down the road is Flamborough Head which is also worth a visit.
Attractions
--------------
Slot machine after slot machine! Lots of amusments to keep the kids occupied.
Mini golf and pitch and putt.
Pleasure Island themepark - reasonably priced - one good rollercoaster.
Market - open on Sundays - sells a range of goods.
Pubs/Clubs - one on the pier - popular with hen and stag do's.
The beach - the best attraction...

There's a fishy smell round here
Advantages: The ground
Disadvantages: The ground
...As I am going to the League 2 Play-off Final in Cardiff on Sunday, I thought I had better update my review.
So to my beloved hometown team Grimsby Town FC. In this opinion i will try to give you an insight into the history of the club upto present day antics as well as players who have been and gone, what the ground, Blundell Park, is like and how many people it holds, what you can buy inside the ground food wise, how much it is to get in and what chants you might hear us sing.
(",) HISTORY (",)
The club were originally known as Grimsby Pelham F.C. in honour of the Pelham family who were prominent landowners in the area. In and around Grimsby there are many streets named Pelham something or other in memory and recognition of this family.
In 1879 Grimsby Pelham was renamed Grimsby Town in the Wellington Pub, which to this day...

A Foxy Little Number!
Advantages: Decent rooms at a reasonable price Friendly staff and good food
Disadvantages: none really
...<<<HOW TO GET THERE>>>
From junction 5 of the M180 take A180 towards Grimsby. The hotel is located on the the 2nd exit from the first roundabout on the A180. The hotel is on an industrial estate but is fairly easy to spot from the road.
<<<PRICES>>>
The hotel has 59 rooms and prices are Monday- Thursday £59 per room per night and Friday-Sunday £52 per room per night.
<<<BOOKING>>>
We booked online and found the website easy to use and located the hotel we wanted very quickly. Credit card details were taken but no payment was taken until we arrived at the hotel. We also opted to take breakfast at the Beefeater which was next door to the hotel at an extra cost of £7.50 per person for a full English or £5.25 for a continental breakfast.
<<<THINGS TO DO IN THE AREA>>>
Grimsby itself is just a short drive from the hotel and you...

Grimbo
Advantages: It's my home town
Disadvantages: It smells of fish...
...An opinion about Grimsby, now that one?s a toughie! You see, I have to love Grimsby, it?s my home town, the place where I was born, grew up and became an adult ? But it?s also just an industrial town in the middle of nowhere with high unemployment and a ?lovely? aroma whenever the wind is blowing the wrong way (if it?s not the docks that are a wee bit whiffy it?ll be the fish factories, you can?t win!) I left Grimsby in 1994, and I don't go back to visit very often. However, a heck of a lot has changed in Grimsby in that time, for this reason mine won?t be a comprehensive guide to the treasures to be found in Grimsby, more an opinion to give you a feel for the place as a whole.
I once heard Grimsby described as ?the end of the line? and I believe that this is a name that suits the town very well. It really is the end of the line...

lets all go grimbarian for once
Advantages: I live there
Disadvantages: I live there
...Grimsby´s a great little town don´t you think?, whats that you say? No! why I oughta come round and give you a good thrashing right now, whaddya mean you´re not going to tell me your home address? does that mean I´ve actually got to try and change your opinion from right here in front of my computer screen?, what do you take me for?, a ciaoer? Oh hang on I am! so lets get reviewing shall we.
First a little background, I´ve lived here in this town we call Grimsby for a total of 22 years now and well I like the place it has to be said but then we stick with what we know don´t we? (well I am thinking of moving to New Zealand but thats a different story altogether!), Now heres where most people might start to go on about the major events they´ve seen happen in the town but hey there isn´t that much to tell, 3 lottery winners, 2 trips to...

So what if it smells of fish
Advantages: see text
Disadvantages: see text
...Okay so Grimsby might smell of fish but it is not that bad. I hated the plaice (please excuse the pun) until I moved away from the area but know I quite like it. There are some bad areas but if you live in a place with non you are very, very lucky. I class Cleethorpes as Grimsby as well as they are joining towns and it’s hard to say where one ends and the other starts. I will try telling you as much as I can about the place.
Shopping
Freshney place is the best place to shop in the town. There are many shops to choose from including the following,
Next
Topshop
River Island
New Look
BHS
Binns (House of Frazer)
M&S
Woolworths
Virgin
Sports Soccer
and many more
Football
Grimsby Town are not exactly the best team in the country and Blundell Park is certainly not the best ground. They are in the first division though...
