The Grosvenor Museum, Chester

...Chester is a city steeped in history that dates back to the Roman times and beyond so it is not surprising to learn that it has a large museum to serve the purpose of showing off its rich heritage. In fact Chester has several different specialised museums like DEWA the Roman museum and the Military Museum but the Grosvenor Museum is by far its largest museum. I suppose that it would be fair to describe the Grosvenor Museum as Chester's general museum. It is housed within an impressive Grade 2 listed building right in the heart of the city centre and since admission is free it's a great starting point for any visitor to the city to learn about its past. LUXURY IN LONDON!

Advantages: Brilliant rooms, service, food, internet etc
Disadvantages: expensive!!!

...In the middle of February, I was lucky enough to be whisked away for a long weekend in London with my grandma. I?m a huge fan of west end shows and musicals, and so our trip was booked- we would go and see various different shows. I couldn?t wait to go. One thing I hadn?t thought of before going however was which hotel we were staying in. I reckoned that we wouldn?t be spending too much time in the hotel itself, as we were going to be very busy, so as long as it had two beds, a bathroom and some sort of wardrobe I?d have been happy. PLANTS, PETS AND PATIO SETS

Advantages: Good quality products, wide selection, pleasant surroundings

...When I decided to write this review, I initially wondered whether anyone would actually be interested in reading about a garden centre. Personally, I would become bored at the first mention of a garden centre. What is there to know? They sell plants! However, the Grosvenor Garden Centre goes much further than that, and to a first time visitor, may appear to be a little universe all on its own. Up until a few years ago, I only used to live a short drive away from the garden centre, but since moving a little further away, if I need to purchase anything for the garden, I still drive those extra few miles to find good quality products. The perfect romantic getaway

...Let me make one thing clear - i have never paid to stay at the Chester Grosvenor myself - but have stayed here for business for at least 6 weeks per year for the past 5 years. Value for money it isnt but if you are not paying then enjoy the ride! The hotel is centrally located in the middle of Chester - if you are driving to the hotel then you have to navigate a slightly confusing one way system but having won that challenge you park in the NCP carpark (free for hotel residents). You enter the hotel and are treated like a film star! The staff cannot do enough for you - reception, down on the ground floor is always manned - the doorman wears a top hat but he always smiles and says hello. Begrudgingly sharing My 'Dirty' Little Secret

Advantages: Spotlessly clean, immaculate decor, outstanding faclities, superb, reasonably priced food, excellent service
Disadvantages: Hasn't got high-speed internet throughout, some rooms a little on the warm side

...An early morning start and an all day meeting in Wrexham combined with the prospect of getting up and 4am to get ready and drive there was not something I relished. Therefore it was off to trusty old laterooms to see what was on offer. There were deals at the local (ish) Ramada Jarvis and Holiday Inn, although I am getting wise to the fact now that quite often such superb offerings mean the outlets are quite often past their sell by date. The Grosvenor Pulford Hotel, situated in the village of Pulford, in between Chester and Wrexham was slightly dearer, but did look intriguing. At the point of booking, the rate on their own website was the same as that of laterooms, and therefore, I booked directly on-line with the hotel, in the hope of avoiding the problems I typically have getting a smoking room when using laterooms, HUH...

Time Travel in Chester but where's Dr Who?

...NAME OF LOCATION: Grosvenor Museum, Chester BACKGROUND: I had planned a weekend trip to Chester for my boyfriend and me and looking online (on another review site), I saw the Grosvenor Museum advertised. Reading this review, I decided it would be ideal for us to visit and it was free entry! This swayed it - we had to see what it was like. I printed off the review to show my boyfriend and he was hooked too, so the decision was made. ATTRACTIONS 1. The first room on the left as you enter has a video display about the history of Chester which we didn't watch as it was part way through and we decided not to disturb the other people watching it in order to read the Chester timeline panels. 2. Perfect Hotel for Romantic Getaway

Advantages: Great facilities, welcoming staff

...I visited the Grosvenor Pulford in September 2007 for a quiet weekend away with my girlfriend. We had a great time here and I would definitely recommend it to others seeking a quiet getaway. It is situated between Chester and Wrexham and is very easy ti find. We wanted to go to Chester and so I would firstly say that if you do not have a car then this could prove difficult as it is not in the centre of Chester and I can't say I saw a lot of buses going past. Firstly the room: Although my first impression was that it was small, it was in fact a fine size for us. There was a TV, albeit with not many channels. The bathroom was nice, clean and well stocked. The bed was very comfortable and the velvet curtains were a touch of class! We used the gymnasium and went for a swim and a jacuzzi and again I was impressed with the facilities...

He is a romantic poet and all the women of the village are infatuated with him. The Dragoon guards return and are dismayed to find their fiancées in love with the poet. Bunthorne however is desperately in love with Patience, the village milkmaid. She does not return her love and reveals that the only people she has loved are her great aunt and her childhood friend, Archibald Grosvenor. She is told that love is the most unselfish of all emotions. At this she feels that she must be very wicked for not ever having loved and resolves to love somebody at once. By an odd coincidence, Grosvenor just happens to return to the village. He is also a poet. Patience wants to resume...
