2009 Scirocco GT 2.0 TSI

Advantages: Looks fantastic, build quality, good engine.
Disadvantages: Rear seats are hard to get into.

...This is our family?s newest member, a 09 plate Scirocco 2.0TSI and I?m more than impressed. There was a long wait from the factory (around 12 weeks), but it?s arrived now, and wow! We?ll start off with the looks of the car. I?d say it?s not to everyone?s taste, because it is so different, could well be a love it or hate it type of thing. It certainly get?s looks, while driving through a small town, a teenager pointed and stood with his mouth open as we cruised past. The build quality is very good as well, as you?d expect with a German car. We previously had a VW Passat in it?s place, which of course had a good quality of build, but this is something else! As soon as you open the doors it?s just in a different league to the 02 plate Passat. The interior has nice sports seats as you?d expect, but what I really like is the sports seats...

GT2 A racing opinion

Advantages: lots of cars and tracks

...GT 2 a racing opinion I am a complete Play Station nerd!! I buy quite a few games but this one has to be the best bargain I have found. I found Gran Turismo 2 on the GAME website, at £20, which was pretty cheap as this included postage and packaging. You can pick GT 2 up in the shops for around £18 now though, so shop around! For those of you with no idea what I am talking about GT 2 is probably one of the best driving simulators for the Play Station you can get. It follows on from GT 1 and is so popular you can now get GT 3. Scirocco - It Goes Like The Wind

Advantages: Fast, Plenty of power when you kick the throttle, very reliable
Disadvantages: not much back seat leg space

...would likely be able to buy cheaper parts over the internet though as we've also done this in the past. Anyway, back to the car. Mine (his) is a 1989 G plate. It has colour-coded skirts and wing mirrors etc and looks very tasty. It’s a 1.8 GT 2 and although its top speed isn’t huge (but still plenty above the legal limit!) its best asset is the torque. We took it to Germany last year and had a fast cam and a K&N filter fitted, which has consequently perked it up a little more. It also went on the rolling road a few months ago and its torque was around 95. (Doesn’t mean that much to me but I’m sure it will to someone.) I believe it has around 120 bhp, which I’m told is pretty good. But enough about that, I’ll tell you how it drives! Like a dream. I love it! It hasn’t got electric anything, but...

Advantages: Great graphics and gameplay
Disadvantages: None!

...Do you like cars? If you do then buy this game, and if you don't then buy this game anyway. It really is the best fun you can have on the Playstation. It is by far the best racing game you can get on any system currently available in the UK. The graphics on this game are superb and the gameplay is just the best that you can get. You can have loads of fun on your own with this game but the most fun will come when you grab the Multi Tap and invite 3 mates round for a night of car madness. It really does blow the socks off the competition. The amount of cars in this game are staggering (100s of the things!). Lots of people say the original GT is practically the same but don't believe them, this game rocks and everyone should own it....

...For me, GT2 is still a Masterpiece but Toca World Touring Cars is close to it. The graphics are very nice with bright colours and I like the sound of the car engines. The game has good options too: in Free Race mode you can set up your own little Tournament with up to five races.I like this. This is the best driving game that I have played on the PSX so far. Although it lacks the sexy car options of GT2, it's a damn site easier to get started with TOCA and you can't buy yourself out of trouble a la Gran Turisimo. All it needs is a 'qualifying' option to be perfect!...

one of the most lastable games ever

...I bought GT2 on the day it was released and as strange as it may seem, I still play it, GT2 is undoubtedly the best racing game on the Playstation, maybe ever. I know that you probably have the game and played it until you have destroyed your dualshock pad, but the realism is certainly makes it worth it. The acceleration, cornering and braking is certainly almost perfect,and once you go through the tedoius tests, you will be ready for the challenge of a lifetime. It starts off pretty boring and slow, but once you manage to get about 500 horse power, you can get a good feel of the speed and become competitive. Once you lay your hands on the Escudos Pikes Peak you can really attempt to go for course records etc, and I still get a thrill out of it. There's always the arcade mode CD if you want to skip the GT mode. It's a game that...

Advantages: Very good game
Disadvantages: Bit dissapointing

...I am very disappointed. I really expected this game to blow GT2 away. The graphics are nuts, the cars are cool, and both the sponsorships and the car factory ideas are really revolutionary. I even enjoyed the drag racing!!! Unfortunately, all of this is nullified by poor control and unrealistic collision effects. The controls are WAY too touchy, there is seemingly no way to come out of an oversteer situation. Colliding with another car or a wall is only going to end in disaster for a player, fairly contrary to what real wheel to wheel racing is about. Hitting a wall is going to have one of two random effects, either a speed-murdering grind, or a trampoline-like bounce into the wall on the other side....
