Guerlain Insolence Eau de Toilette - a little bit too bold

Advantages: Fairly pleasant scent; beautiful bottle; very good staying power
Disadvantages: Doesn't smell as expensive as it is; rather heavy and old-fashioned

...I bought a selection of mini perfumes from Boots as a treat for myself - it was reduced to £8 and contained five fragrances so I thought that was pretty good value, and I really enjoy trying new perfumes. I had previously seen an advert for Guerlain Insolence. What struck me about that was that I really didn't like the name; insolence is defined as 'an arrogant, insulting or bold mode of conduct or attitude'. To me that doesn't seem anything to aspire to; perhaps they were aiming at a vaguely 'rebellious' teenage market, which would also explain why it's the sponsor for the programme Gossip Girl, which thankfully I have never had to watch. Clinique are All About Eyes

Advantages: Tones skin, nice silky texture, diminishes dark circles
Disadvantages: Doesn't rid me completely of the dark circles, no SPF

...Dark circles are my biggest complexion problem - no matter what I do, whether it's more sleep, more water, eye creams, they don't seem to budge. ...Clinique say that this eye cream will 'Diminish the look of undereye circles, shadows, puffs and fine lines - immediately and over time.' I agree - this product is excellent. I use it twice daily after cleansing, toning and moisturizing and before applying my make up and I always notice the difference when I haven't used it. Without it my skin feels far tighter and dryer. After it has been applied my eyelids feel instantly soothed and nourished, just like Clinique say they will. Advantages: A great help for puffy eyes.

...A mid life crisis ? - when you wake up in the mornings, take a look in the mirror and discover that you have eyes that look like arrow slits due to water retention then that is a crisis in my books. I never had any problems with puffy eyes until I entered my fifties and then it started with a vengeance. There is nothing that you can do, you just have to wait until the slight swelling starts to disappear but if you have planned to go out early and are waiting to put your make up on it can be a hindrance. There are not many of the Body Shop products that I would pass on, the products are natural and they are not tested on animals. ...I bought this eye cream (£20) because I'd heard so much about it from a friend and needed something to depuff my eyes after endless nights of revision for exams! The packaging is really cute;-pink see-thru tub with a nice silver screw-on lid. It's the same design as the Anti-Gravity eye cream (see my op) and they're both great for carting off on holiday with you. As I said the Anti-Gravity eye cream was suitable for night-time, this is the day-time version. It's light-weight gel/cream formula. When I first tried this I noticed that it immediately sunk into my skin and left a really velvety effect, making my tired eye area feel lovely! ...I have been using Clinique's All About Eyes for the past month now and I find it amazing! Unfortunately I am currently confined to a test 5ml sample pot of it so Im rationing it and saving the pennies for a proper pot of it of my own! 15ml cost around £17-£19 and a 30ml costs £30 approx. It is very expensive but I think this is a cetegory where more expensive gets better quality and results. Treat yourself or ask for this for birthdays or christmases. My gran has been asking for Clinique make-up and lotions for as many christmases and birthdays of hers that I can remember. She's always believed that is an area where you're alowed to spend.
