The Perfume of a Princess!

Advantages: Smells Very Distinctive, Long Lasting, Beautiful Bottle, Very Feminine
Disadvantages: May be too sweet and floral for some

Guerlain Insolence Eau de Toilette - a little bit too bold

Advantages: Fairly pleasant scent; beautiful bottle; very good staying power
Disadvantages: Doesn't smell as expensive as it is; rather heavy and old-fashioned

What struck me about that was that I really didn't like the name; insolence is defined as 'an arrogant, insulting or bold mode of conduct or attitude'. A sweet smelling fragrance

...Whenever Christmas comes around, my two sons always buy me perfume. I do not have to worry as I think that their girlfriends pick the fragrances for them. The perfume is therefore normally quite modern an up with the times or at least I hope it is. This year I had a bottle of Samsara and a bottle of 5th Avenue. Both fragrances are very strong smelling although I cannot say that I prefer either. They are both very nice. Tact plays a large part in my answer as both are members. The 5th avenue has a sweet smelling scent that I liken to a Channel type fragrance and it is produced by top designer Elizabeth Arden. Ibiza Hippie by Escada perfume!

...Escada Ibiza Hippie I got this perfume in a Collector?s Edition pack of 5 Escada Perfumes; Island kiss, Rockin? Rio, Pacific Paradise, Sunset Heat and Ibiza Hippie. I first heard of Escada when I bought Pacific Paradise on the Ferry on the way to Italy, from then on the smell always reminded me of that holiday, and became one of my favourite perfumes. So when I saw this pack for £12.50 for 5 small bottles (4ml each), I just had to buy them to try them all, so I could choose my favourite one! And I must say they were all delicious! With such strong fruity smells which stuck around all day, my only problem was there wasn?t enough of it in the bottles, and I tended to use half a bottle each time I used it! How to choose your perfume?

Advantages: Knowing the type of perfumes you prefer, you won't buy perfume that doesn't suit you
Disadvantages: You may become quite selective, like me, so it'll takes ages to find one

.... I also loved floral aquatic ones like Laguna from Dali. Florals were alright by me but not too keen. About 4 years ago it was all about to change. What I wear now is mostly the romantic florals (Yellow Jeans by Versace) and the sweet, ambery orientals such as my favourite Guerlain L'Instant. I can still of course be seduced by a fruity perfume but only if it's an exceptionally nice and complex blend probably from a French house. This is currently Delices de Cartier and the reason I love it is because of its rich ambery base unlike most forgettable fruity florals which start out too sharp then go out with a pop like a faulty balloon.
