Fathers Guest House, great place in the Cameron Highlands

Disadvantages: Disappointing dorm room

...Fathers Guest house has the perfect location on a small hill overlooking the tiny town of Tanah Rata in the Cameron highlands. Situated outside the town, but only a 3 minute walk into it, it has fantastic views and is tranquil but still has access to any activities the town has to offer. If you call the owners in advance letting them known when you will arrive then they will collect you from the town and save the walk up the hill with heavy bags. They also tend to be one of the touts who wander the bus drop off area and so if you arrive by bus then there is almost always someone there who you can ask to get a lift up the hill. Driving up towards the guesthouse the first thing that is obvious is that this is a beautiful area. The views from the top go right across the town and amongst the rolling hills of the area. There is another beach at Llandudno!

Advantages: Beautiful, great for families, lovely walks
Disadvantages: Mat be too quiet for some

...girl there and they both decided to go on the see saw. They jumped on and the see saw settled completely level as they were both the same weight! There they were ? stuck ? because neither of them could reach the floor and she was most cross because her dad just stood and laughed! He did rescue them eventually of course! Anyway moving on again you then pass the grassy area and then come to the large pay and display car park at the end of the promenade. The coastal / cycle path leads off from here heading past the golf course down towards Conwy and beyond. The Beach Cafe is here too and is well worth a visit. I won?t say any more about it as I have already done a full review of it earlier this year. Tarbet House - a cut above the rest!

South Hampton Guest House - ok

...My partner and I stayed at the South Hampton Guest House for a weekend in early 2006. We choose the property because it was reasonably close to the centre of Cambridge Township (about 15-20 minutes walk) and also for it's price. We paid £45/night for the two of us including breakfast. The general décor was nothing to marvel about, a bit pokey and very old fashioned. However, keeping in mind what we paid our stay was reasonable. The rooms (I think there were 4 or 5 in total) were on the small side. Ours was fitted with a double bed, a single chair, one bedside table, a small wardrobe with several drawers attached and a tv mounted on the wall. There was a little side tray containing tea, coffee milk and a few biscuits. There was very little room for much else and we had to store our 1 suitcase on top of the wardrobe. There was...

...The Anchor Guest House is situated in the city centre. From Dublin Airport, travel on the 747 (Easily caught from outside the airport exit, well signposted and regular) Stay on the bus until Dublin Bus Station, the Anchor Guest House is situated in Lower Gardiner Street which is just round the corner from the bus station. The Guest House is a town house with a new extension on the back. There are a few steps to go up and I have not seen a ramp. From the entrance hall, up about 10 stairs you walk through a sitting room to the extension which has a lift. ...I remember visiting Llandudno with my parents when I was a child, for our annual holiday. I have happy memories of building sandcastles, playing on the two Ormes and walking along the long crescent promenade eating ice creams! Ah, happy days! I have been to Llandudno a few times since, but only for a couple of hours on a day trip from home in the Midlands. While we were on holiday on Anglesey we went back onto the mainland to Llandudno on a couple of occasions and I was able to see a lot more of the town and the Great Orme in particular. The town and long sandy beach are sheltered by The Great Orme in the north and The Little Orme in the south. There is a pier at the foot of the Great Orme together with a few amusements and children?s rides. The sad spectacle of the ruined Grand Theatre also stands here. The town itself is set...

Llandudno - The Queen of the Welsh Resorts!

Advantages: Plenty To See And Do, Nice Sandy Beach
Disadvantages: Largely Closed During Winter

Llandudno is now actually the largest Seaside Resort in Wales earning it the title "Queen of the Welsh Resorts." This title was first penned back in Victorian times and is still retained today. I would urge any visitor to the Resort to pay a visit to the beautiful Happy Valley. This former Quarry, was a gift of Lord Mostyn to the Town in celebration of Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee in 1887. The area was landscaped and developed with ornate Gardens, two miniature Golf Courses, a Putting Green, and an open air Theatre. 1811 Georgian Town - a superior style guest house

Advantages: Stunning house, high quality, diets catered for, excellent service, slept like a log
Disadvantages: Nothing I can suggest

...I dont normally stay in guest houses unless in South Africa or Canada where the B&B style is much different. There you expect luxury rooms, a home baked breakfast, good conversation and a great location. Have now found one in Central London that is completely to my taste. The 1811 Georgian Town house is exactly as it says on the tin - a Regency property that has been metriculouly restored to English Heritage standards. The property is not only grade II listed outside but so all authentic on the inside and why the 1811 Georgian Town House was selected for my business trip. Hats off to our host, I'm not the easiest of guests but she responded to every need without being flustered I'm lactose intolerant and vegetarian, dont like man made fibres and had too much to do in too little time.
