Guiness Hop Store is worth the visit

Advantages: Very reasonable entrance fee
Disadvantages: If you don't like Guiness then is a bit disadvantage

...In July 1998 we decided that because Hana was only 4 months old that we were going to visit Dublin for 4 days instead of going abroad. We purchased the Open Top Bus tickets at a very reasonable price and it stops just outside the Hop Store Entrance Hall. I very much enjoyed the tour, which you can do in your own time with a variety of objects to view and then you can sit in a theatre type room to listen to the story of the Guiness store. The Store is large and plenty of room to manouver pushchairs and wheelchairs with lift facilities to go from the ground floor to the first floor. At the end of the tour of around 3 hours you can visit the Guiness Bar were you get a free sample per person. They loved having kids there and there was plenty of room for them to run around. When in Dublin.... head for St James Gate

Advantages: Fantastic views with a glass of the black stuff in your hand

GUINESS BREWERY & MUSEUM DUBLIN I am rather partial to a drop of the blackstuff, so when my son arranged a weekend break for my good lady wife and my self to Dublin, I had to visit the Guiness Brewery and Museum. Now perhaps I am biased, but this was one of the best tours I've taken. St James Gate is the entrance to the brewery; the gate is enormous, with big letters spelling out its name. A real photo opportunity. The brewery looks like a big factory, but inside you find that the building gets larger the higher up you go, just like a pint glass!! When you walk in, you are directed to the center of the floor, where you see the original signed lease for the building. Everyone is given a clear token with a drop of Guinness in the middle - save this, as you will need it at the top to get your 'free...

It's Good For You - apparantly

Advantages: Best pint of Guiness you'll taste, some interesting facts
Disadvantages: Guided tours can seem to long

...Having visited Dublin several times and now living here I have always been told about the wonder that it Guiness and much better it tastes in ireland (which is true by the way!) when work suggested this as an outing I jumped at the chance... Getting there and getting in: The Hop Store is situated on St James Gate, Dublin 7 there are many buses that will take you there (51B, 78A, 123, 99) the excellent Luas service also stops on James Street. If public transport isn't your thing (and with work paying it definitly wasn't ours!) any taxi driver worth his salt can get you there with no further directions than "Guiness Hop Store please.." It's fairly reasonably priced for entry with tickets at ?14 for adults, ?7.50 for students and ?6 for children over 6, there are also special deals for students and large groups. The Tour...

Good things come to those who wait?

Advantages: Good, Clean, Family fun, educational and midly entertaining...FREE PINT TOO :D
Disadvantages: Dull in parts, was not what i was expecting

...When i embarked on my trip to Dublin, I think both myself, and my fellow male companions (no remarks there please) were in no doubt that a trip to the birth place of Guiness was on the cards. Prior to Dublin, i had only ever had one pint of Guiness in my life. About a week before my trip, i had one simply to see if i could handle it, as I assumed i would be drinking alot. It turned out, i couldn't. Infact you might have said it was absolutely disgusting. We all agreed on this point. Nevertheless, i still wanted to go to the brewery, just because...well you know..to say I'd been. The price was around ?14, but i remember i got in for about ?8 because I had a student discount card.
