Capo Bay Hotel, Protaras

Advantages: fantastic 4* hotel
Disadvantages: don't go there in the week that they close!

...We have just returned from our honeymoon in Cyprus. We stayed at the Capo Bay Hotel, which stands on the Fig Tree Bay in the resort of Protaras. It is one hours drive from Larnaca Airport. (I will reveiw Protaras as a resort separately. This review is solely on the Capo Bay Hotel). The hotel was fantastic. It is 4star hotel and the service and facilities are great. The Capo Bay hotel has 225 rooms over 4 floors and was built in 1985. It offers a gymnasium with massage and jacuzzi, tennis, scuba diving, pool, 2 swimming pools (1 heated) and 4 different restaurants to eat in, including 1 beside the pool. We paid £1500 for two weeks Bed & Breakfast. This was for an inland view room, but because we were on our honeymoon, we were upgraded to a seaview room. An extremely versatile and reliable guitar!

Advantages: The classic bread and butter of our time - beautiful and brilliant

Rock out with Guitar Hero III, wirelessly.

Advantages: Enjoyable, Easy to learn, Play on multiple levels, hours of play time.
Disadvantages: That you must complete a certain level to acess some songs.

...Years ago my friend, Henri, introduced me to Guitar Hero and I was hooked. Unfortunatally I only had a PC so I had just admire Guitar Hero from afar. Then when my house bought a Wii I just new that I had to get Guitar Hero and I was even luckier because HMV was selling it for £35 compared to the original and expensive £70. I have also seen it in CEX (The second hand electronic store), but it was expensive there as well at £60. For my £35 pounds I got: 1x Wireless Guitar, 1X Wii Game Disc (Legends of rock), 1X sheet of stickers to personalise the guitar. "Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock" is a sequeal in the Guitar Hero (GH) series. Others include GH Metallica, GH ... The game disc is compatible with Guitar Hero Wii Guitars and so could be purchased separatly as just an addition to your GH collection. The best place to buy the game...

Review of Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock (Wii)

Watch out Rock Band, Guitar Hero is back.

Advantages: Gameplay now on a par with the Rock Band series. Excellent feature set on the Wii.
Disadvantages: Very expensive if you've not already got the instruments. Some songs are a bit obscure.

... Introduction The original Guitar Hero was one of the landmarks in the rhythm game genre; it moved away from merely tapping out a beat to giving you a controller that resembled a real guitar. Sure, it's nothing like playing a real guitar, but then again most people can't just pick one up and sound just like Hendix or Clapton. It was a perfect bit of escapism with devilishly addictive gameplay, and it worked. This was consolidated with a few sequels but then along game Rock Band which pretty much dethroned the original Guitar Hero with a seamless expansion of the gameplay to including singing and drums. Guitar Hero 3

Advantages: Ok game if you havent play the two other Guitar Hero Games
Disadvantages: The game has become more commercialised

...Guitar Hero 3 is a decent game with new play modes and the new guitar hero battles added in the career play mode, however I think that this game isnt as good as Guitar Hero 1 and 2 as it seems to have sold out and changed up a few things to make it a more popular game. Guitar Hero 3 is easier to play in my opinion, especially hammer ons and pull offs are easier and game play on expert even seems slower to me. The games songs style has changed, there is no longer a long list of lethal rock and metal songs, the song list in this game is more commercialised so as to suit a larger range of people, which may be good for business but I dont think has inproved the game. The song list on this game is: Lay Down- Preistess Paint it Black- The Rolling Stones The Metal- Tenacious D 3's and 7's- Queens of the Stoneage Knights...

From guitar zero to Guitar Hero

Advantages: Portable, new songs
Disadvantages: Awkward to press all the buttons, bruises your hand!

...Being an avid fan of the previous Guitar Hero games, my name was one of the first on the pre-order list. My little bundle of joy arrived through my letter box yesterday morning (the day after the release date) delivered from HMV.com with free delivery, totalling £26.99 (with student discount). In the box, you get the add-on part with the coloured buttons that you insert into the GameBoy Advance slot on your DS, a seperate attachement that you have to use if you are using an old style DS, a plectrum stylus, the game catridge, a game case, two sticker sheets and the instructions - though don't ask me what they say, I figured I would work everything out along the way. The add-on part comes with an adjustable velcro strap so that every size of hand will fit. When you have connected it to the DS, put the game in and turned on the DS...

Guitars guitars and nothing but guitars

Advantages: Some electrifying passages where you can crank up the volume...
Disadvantages: ...but nothing very memorable tune-wise.

...What an unimaginative title I thought. Calling a Mike Oldfield album "Guitars" is like calling a Bond film "Licence To Kill" - it tells you less than you already know. Then I got it: guitars and nothing but guitars. No drums, synths or vocals. No Tubular Bells even. Is that the idea? Simple, but ambitious. Who else could even attempt this? "Muse" opens the album, it is a beautiful, mellow, Spanish guitar melody. But is this to be another bland CD of Test Card music? (see my op. on Oldfield's "Voyager") Well the added urgency and edge of "Cochise" suggest not. This is serious, invigorating guitar playing. Truly electric. The next track "Embers" is much more subdued though and "Summit Day" would not be out of place on his triumphant "Songs of Distant Earth" CD. It's all good so far, but with no fixed mood. Review of Guitars - Mike Oldfield

Become a Guitar Hero in your own home!

Advantages: A fabulous game for the Ds which is easy to use! :)
Disadvantages: Not compatible with the new DSi consoles but this isn't made apparent to people enough!

Guitar Hero on the DS My brother got a Nintendo DSi for Christmas off my parents, and my mum bought him this game off Amazon for him, but when it came I was looking at the DSi to make sure it was ok and not broken etc before Christmas day and noticed that it has no GameBoy advance game slot, which is what the Guitar Hero DS needs to work! So my brother lost out on the game whilst I on the other hand made good when I was given the game myself to play on my DS Lite (which does have a Gameboy Advance slot!). This is the first downside to the game, it is NOT made aware to buyers that it is not compatible with the new DSi which is very bad considering people who are buying them for their children etc, may not know anything about the consoles and may not know they won?t fit! BUT, for those who have a DS Lite or original DS, this...
