...chaser and worse still, that he insists that they are beautiful. Hal sees supermodel, Mauricio sees rhino. The first person Hal bumps into upon leaving his workplace is Rosemary(Gwyneth Paltrow) who he falls for - a stunning blonde with a great personality - the woman of his dreams. Of course, the Gwyneth we see is about 500lbs, but through Hal's eyes she is a waiflike beauty. At first she thinks Hal is just taking her for a ride, yet another in the long line of people to make fun of her, playing a sick joke over and above cruel. Hal insists she is beautiful, that she is mad if she can't see that, that she isn't overweight etc. and umm well obviously that isn't the case. I'm sure you can guess the rest, I'm sure you could have guessed this far to be honest because its not the most compex of tales, but one which is certainly very watchable...

I used my two week free trial with this company and remained with them for a couple of monthsbefore moving on to try many other companies free trials (and winning a new DVD player on Tesco DVD rental site on their free trial offer). Surprising Picture Quality - Panasonic DVD-S54

Advantages: Incredible picture quality when compared to my old non-upscaling player with a scart lead
Disadvantages: Sometimes disc drive can be really noisy when DVD's initially load.

We bought the player from the electrical retailer Comet for about £100 just before Christmas so there were no discounts applied. Advantages: Good acting, excellent performances.
Disadvantages: Expected a little more of Plath's background

...love affair between Plath and Hughes. I did think to myself, how can we ultimately understand her without the background knowledge of her that makes her so unique and special. Through the film we do learn a little of her background, but I thought that not enough detail was given, and at the times when we were learning of these occurrences that shaped her existence, they seemed to be so minor and not given the enormity and magnitude that I thought was appropriate. I was not overwhelmed by the force of the film, but it only disappointed me a little, and I was struck by the quality of the acting of the central character played by Gwyneth Paltrow. She gives us a fine performance of this haunted writer, she looks anguished and beautiful and crushed. We can empathise with her situation and yet somehow I still remained detached from her I...

Paltrow Proves Positive to Plath's Poetic Prowess

Advantages: Powerful Characters - Excellent Acting
Disadvantages: Distressing Subject Matter

First songs. I hope it will not be their last.

Advantages: Gwyn's voice, varied
Disadvantages: a couple of weak tracks, the repition of Beguilling eyes

...I think I am certainly changing and growing old. Gone are my days in docs and jeans bouncing away at a rock or indie club. Now I hanker for a suave elegant intimate jazz or lounge club. I imagine myself in a sophisticated cocktail dress sipping champagne cocktails with a lovely young fellow in a smoking jacket and floppy fringe. . To recreate this fantasy I have a number of jazz and lounge albums from some of the new stars featured on Radio 2. The latest addition to this collection is entitled First Songs and is by a young British duo Gwyn and Will Gwyneth Herbert (vocals) and Will Rutter (guitar) met at Durham University and joined together to make sweet jazz music. Looks wise judging from the photo in the CD booklet they are a pretty winsome looking duo. Gwyn is pretty with blond curls and flowers in her hair perhaps in a Dido way...

...My recent quest for FREE DVD hire I visited and many DVD web sites that offered a free trial. Now call me tight (no that wasn?t an invite), but I like bargains and freebies and am not ashamed to say so. My quest took me to enough sites to hire DVDs for about four months so far (with plenty to come too). My latest free DVD site also happens to be the best I have tried for several reasons (see rest of op); the site in question is Blockbuster.co.uk. Other sites that I have had free rentals from and then cancelled have all been similar, two weeks free trial with two DVD?s per time ? which in effect gives you about four free DVD?s. With Blockbuster?s things are different slightly ? which add a great deal of benefit to us the customer. ...Before I bought this DVD player Id never really owned a DVD player before. I had however had and still do have a ps2 on which I used to play my DVDs. I never really went and still don’t go on this so much so I was going to sell it and buy a DVD player. In the end I decided to just keep the ps2 and to get a cheaper DVD player than I was looking for in the first place. The main reason why I wanted a new DVD instead of the one in the ps2 was so I could play divx format DVDs on it. The DVD player in a ps2 doesn’t recognise this format and scene as I have several divx movies already on disk and on my laptop to put onto disk then I wanted a DVD player that would recognise and play this format.
