Advantages: Small, quiet, fast boot times Disadvantages: Not for dedicated gamers
...Introduction
As a company, we probably have about 2000 Dell PCs situated across all sites. I have had the Optiplex GX520 for almost a year now without any problem of any description. Mine is primarily used for writing software with Visual Studio and writing database code in MS SQL Server which affects millions of rows of data. These applications would really test the machine to the limits but how would it perform? As this machine was bought as part of a batch, the price paid would not be the same as you would pay for a single unit. I would expect to pay around the £500 mark if buying from the Dell website.
Looks
The Optiplex comes in Dells standard black coloured case. On the front there is a DVD Rom / CDRW drive and a floppy disk drive (which is a rarity these days, mine has never been used). Add to this 2 USB2...
Advantages: Good sound, decent games, lightweight Disadvantages: Crap camera
...i'm not a big user of the mobile phone; i only got my first one at the end of 2000. the phone in question was a cumbersome phillips phone with nothing flash about it however i'd probably still be perfectly happy with it. however at work there was an incentive running for overtime, this meant that you worked a certain amount of hours, got paid for it but you would also receive a sharp gx10 mobile phone on vodafone. now at the time these were £300 on a 'pay as you go' deal. however i understand they've dropped in price slightly over the last couple of months.
the first thing that struck me about this phone was the weight, it's incredibly light and you're probably no even going to notice if you keep it in your pocket. it's a silver metallic design with a small lcd window on the outside to display time etc. flip this baby open and you...

Review of Sharp GX10
Advantages: Its got excellent ringtones and games Disadvantages: Its uglier than a Bulldog chewing a wasp
...Do you remember the days of yore? At least 10-15 years ago? When mobile phones were starting to become fashionable? Every paddedd-shouldered Dynasty look-a-like had one. Of course they were the size of bricks and looked quite ridiculous. Then over the years they've got slightly smaller cumulating in the Nokia 8210, all of 5mm thick and about 2 inches tall, really trendy at first but then everybody realised just how ridiculous they were, being as you couldn't actually dial anything if you had nails longer that a centimetre long.
So what have we done? We've gone back to the good old days of the brick! Well, half brick anyway, sometimes cunningly disguised as a radio or MP3 player. Of course these new flip over phones have a lot to answer for! I've covered my Samsung T100, now its the turn of the Sharp GX10. A lovely chrome phone 3...

Review of Sharp GX10
Advantages: Simple to use, good camera, portable Disadvantages: Battery life gets worse over time
...I bought this phone new 3 years ago and so far have had no problems. It is very reliable and has many features.
One of the few that stand out is the camera, a 1 megapixel one, which delivers outstanding photos for a phone. However, after about 2 years of use the camera loses a bit of quality and vertical lines start appearing in the view. If you want a phone with a long lasting camera don't get the GX25. Also if you want to be able to zoom in a lot then perhaps choose another phone as this only has 2 zoom settings. The video capability of the phone is very limited as it saves the videos in a different format and can only save a limited length of video.
Having said that, there are not many other problems with the phone. The user interface is very simple and it is easy to access your text messages and contacts at the touch of just...

Review of Sharp GX25
Advantages: Large colour screen, bluetooth, easy to use, lightweight Disadvantages: Short battery life, weak reception, no call duration info
...This is a lightweight, large screen easy to use mobile, with many functions to boot. Having only used Nokias before I was unsure of purchasing a Sharp as by my reckoning Nokia phones are the easiest to use and most consumer friendly.
The GX15 has a very easy to use menu system and things are located where you would expect to find them. The camera button is conveniently located on the side, though can also be accessed via the menu screen. The volume button is also side mounted and easy to use.
The phone is small and lightweight but manages to fit a decent rear mounted camera which takes both still and video images. There is however no flash and the night adjustment button does little. There is however a digital zoom function and an exposure function which does prove useful. The camera unfortunately is rear mounted...

Review of Sharp GX15
Advantages: Good quality, reliable, good picture Disadvantages: none so far...
...Those who have read my reviews on other electrical goods may recognise that I have a lot of bias towards Sony products and my latest acquisition is the Sony GX300 DVD recorder. OK it is not a top of the range model with hard-drive recording, but at a price of £300 less 10 pence from Comet it is has proved a very reliable machine since we bought it last Xmas (2004).
The installation of the machine was every bit as easy as the Sony video recorders, which I also own - in fact it took me more time setting up an aerial feed from my aerial booster box (a must-have if you wish to connect more appliance - the subject of another review I think) than it did tuning it all in.
I plugged in the aerial lead to the aerial-in socket on the DVD. In the aerial-out socket, you can plug in the lead supplied and from there into the aerial-in socket...

Review of Sony RDR-GX 300
Advantages: Addictive and fun to collect cards/ Disadvantages: Its not up to date.
...Now for everyone that watched the Yugioh GX series and loved it, then this is the game for you. You get to make your own decks and collect. From the start of the game you feel like you are actually in the GX world. You wake up in the Red Dorm and you get to walk around the whole island. There is a time of day set into the game where you have to go school with your fellow duelist Jaden, Zane and Truesdale. Then in school you get taught how to play the game and learn stratagies. You then get to walk around the whole island challeging who ever you want from the series. When you win games you win points. You then get to buy packs from the shop with those points to boost your collection and create a better deck to use.
Now the only thing wrong with the game is that its not upto date witht he current banned list, but if your just starting...
...even more cash. To add a telephoto lens as well would have blown my original budget.
The Pentax was much cheaper, took SD cards and could be obtained as a package with two lenses for less than the cost of the Canon with only one. However, it was handling the cameras that reduced the list. The Nikon was not comfortable to hold. It may be a personal thing and someone with different shaped/sized hands might totally disagree with me, but I simply did not find the Nikon comfortable. So it came off the list of possibilities. The Canon was comfortable but, because of the other disadvantages, it was only hanging onto the very bottom of my list by the skin of its teeth.
It was while looking at and handling the Pentax and the Canon that the Samsung GX-1S first appeared on my radar and I set about finding out more about it. The name of Samsung...

Review of Samsung GX-1L
Advantages: MP3 player, 1.1 mega Pixel camera, SD Memory....... Disadvantages: Disadvantages??? What are they then???
...I bought the Sharp GX30 about 2 months ago. I haven't put it down since...
I used to own the Sharp gx10 which at the time, I thought was great, it had a camera, it could download ringtones and games, what more could I ask for from a phone?
Well....
Then came the Sharp GX30! Wow! What a phone. Where do I start??
It has an MP3 player, so that you can download your favourite songs to take with you were ever you go. You have to save your songs to your memory card, as the 6mb of memory your phone internally holds is not enough. The music is not overly loud, but it sounds good enough, after all, it is a phone!
It has a 1.1 mega pixel digital camera. The camera can shoot at 5 different resolutions. These are as follows:
858x1144
768x1024
480x640
240x320
120x160
Once you have taken your photo, you can play with it...

Review of Sharp GX30
Advantages: Cost £35 from Vodafone Disadvantages: Not up to my usual Nokia standards
...I have now had my new phone (Sharp GX10) now for 2 weeks. Within that time I have come to the conclusion that it doesn't live up to my expectations as my usual Nokia mobiles do!
Advantages:
When I was ready to upgrade,I had my eye on this phone. It's a little chunkier than my last phone (Nokia 8310) but I thought hey, what the hell, I'll have a change! I contacted Vodafone to talk about updrading to this phone. The retail price, I was told (on contract, which is what I am on)was £149.99. But because I was already a vodafone customer and was looking to upgrade they made out I was privilaged at a cost of £79.99. I thought fine, but would I get 6 months half price line rental too, as a number of people I know had previously got this offer. I was a little annoyed with vodafone when they kept refusing me point blank to give me this little...
