...Do you remember the days of yore? At least 10-15 years ago? When mobile phones were starting to become fashionable? Every paddedd-shouldered Dynasty look-a-like had one. Of course they were the size of bricks and looked quite ridiculous. Then over the years they've got slightly smaller cumulating in the Nokia 8210, all of 5mm thick and about 2 inches tall, really trendy at first but then everybody realised just how ridiculous they were, being as you couldn't actually dial anything if you had nails longer that a centimetre long. So what have we done? We've gone back to the good old days of the brick! Well, half brick anyway, sometimes cunningly disguised as a radio or MP3 player. Of course these new flip over phones have a lot to answer for! I've covered my Samsung T100, now its the turn of the Sharp GX10. A lovely chrome phone 3...

Sharp GX10 - not my kind of phone

Advantages: Cost £35 from Vodafone
Disadvantages: Not up to my usual Nokia standards

...I have now had my new phone (Sharp GX10) now for 2 weeks. Within that time I have come to the conclusion that it doesn't live up to my expectations as my usual Nokia mobiles do! Advantages: When I was ready to upgrade,I had my eye on this phone. It's a little chunkier than my last phone (Nokia 8310) but I thought hey, what the hell, I'll have a change! I contacted Vodafone to talk about updrading to this phone. The retail price, I was told (on contract, which is what I am on)was £149.99. But because I was already a vodafone customer and was looking to upgrade they made out I was privilaged at a cost of £79.99. I thought fine, but would I get 6 months half price line rental too, as a number of people I know had previously got this offer. Vodafone GX10i

Advantages: great picture quality, and picture storage memory
Disadvantages: not alot of text memory storage, bit big

...Even though this phone is pretty old now im still going to write a review on it purely because i love it so much. I have only just got this phone because my other one (sendo phone) got smashed. I got my vodafone Gx10i from my friend who has recently brought the newest model of this phone, i have throughly explored her new phone and to be honest the newest version is no better than this one. ...The Gx10i is a nice stylish phone with a built in camera enableing you to take photographs and email them to computers.the camera takes good clear pictures.When flipped down it is small and compact but either way it looks cool and stylish.It will send MMs mesages and recieve them.The phone has a good range of ringtones and a few games you can buy more ringtones or java games off the internet or from magazines.It is WAP enabled.The mobile comes with its own handsfree/earphones and has an alarm clock and calculator.The on/off button is in an easy place.You can store up to 3 phone nubers per person on the phone book which makes life easyer.Another feature is the voice recorder.It doesnt take long to charge and a full battery can last around 3 days.I would say the only drawback is the price. ...I used my Sharp gx10i for just over ayear and found it to be a good, well rounded phone. Firstly the phone is good looking and has a nice big colour screen as which has a good quality screen as well as the ability to customise the screen with photo's you have taken with the built in digital camera. It has an external lcd screen, which is very useful for things like looking at the time and date without opening up the phone and also to quickly see if you have any messages or missed calls etc. The external screen backlight is very useful as a makeshift torch as well if you need some bright lighting. Messaging on the gx10 takes some practice and has a limited sized dictionary. what i mean is that although you can store new words on the phone, this inevitably means that another previously saved word will be erased! ...I recieved this netbook for christmas and all i can say is 'wow'! My background with computers is vast having built many and installed multiple operating systems on each, however i have never owned a laptop. Therefore i was a little dubious about some of the things such as keyboard size, processing power and battery life. I was looking for a laptop which is very small in physical size while packing a punch so it could still carry out multiple tasks. Buying a full size (15.4") laptop seemed a bit pointlesss as i have two tower pc's which are my main machines, so this was just to be about casual surfing/ reading emails/ browsing while on the move. Samsung NC10 Netbook

Advantages: Lots of connectivity - Big keyboard - excellent screen - Good spec
Disadvantages: bad sleeve to store netbook - battery life not that long - small touchpad

...I managed to pick up this netbook for £299 which is oustanding value - from play.com. The netbook is very light and can fit almost anywhere - it is very easy to carry around - you can set up anywhere and very easily connect to the internet where available. The netbook looks very stylish and everything is laid out well. The keyboard is the biggest i have ever seen on a netbook - its almost full size which is a bonus as I have a lot of typing to do. One disadvantage of this is that the mousepad has been made very small which is a nuisance - you do get used to it but it is not ideal. The specs for this netbook are impressive I mean a massive 160GB hard drive, a 10.2 inch screen. 1 GB of RAM and a 1.6GHZ intel atom processor.
