...I may be first to review this new album by my beloved "Norwegian pop legends" a-ha on Ciao (and rightly so, heh-- see my "epic" earlier a-ha reviews) but it's got a fair old bit of coverage in the UK media for its release this week. The general reception seems to have been very good, apparently someone on Radio 2 made it Album of the Week or something, and the release was mentioned in the BBC's 6Music News podcast. Which was the first and only time I'll probably ever listen to one. I bought this off amazon.co.uk for £8.98, with free next day shipping because I took the Amazon Prime trial. As usual for a new album I'm reviewing each track as I listen to it for the first time. So I'm going to get on with it because I can't wait to hear it.... 1. The Bandstand Don't wait up for us... Ha Ha Ha the Whole Way Through

...One of the wittiest and sharpest books I have read this year has to be "Paddy Clarke Ha Ha Ha" by Roddy Doyle. In his Barrytown trilogy (The Commitments, The Snapper and The Van), Roddy Doyle brilliantly explored family life through various members of the Rabbite family. We loved Rab Ha's

Advantages: Great staff, excellent food and great location
Disadvantages: None for us - might not be best for disabled people though

...We wanted to visit Glasgow for the Hogmonay celebrations and also for my 50th Birthday. We chose Rab Ha's on a personal recommendation and we were not disappointed. It is an excellent establishment. It has four rooms above an excellent pub and restaurant. The food in the restaurant was wonderful with a really good varied menu. The food in the bar was pub food, but damned good pub food. We ate in the restaurant once and the bar twice. The breakfast was a continental selection (cereal, croissants, toast, fruit, cheese etc) which in my opinion makes a great change from the usual British Breakfast (which in my experience most hotels are pretty crap at anyway, especially the Chain Hotels) The staff are all fantastic; friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and fun. The Doctor travels both back in time and to the future, and in this DVD he takes us on quite an adventure! The first episodes are two-parters; The Sontaran Stratagem and The Poison Sky. Yee Ha! - I'm Back!!

Advantages: Excellent romping cowboy themed music for children under ten.
Disadvantages: Won't appeal to all ages but has a pretty long shelf life. Some songs quite repetitive.

Modern Warfare 2 - Fun but not Fantastic

Advantages: intriguing gameplay, flawless sound/graphics, rolling storyline
Disadvantages: anti-climax, little repetitive, nothing really new to catch onto

...The hype was wild for Halo 3, it continued for the anticipations of Halo Wars and many were disappointed. Hype was given for Gears of War and that continued for Gears of War 2 and many were disappointed. Likewise Call of Duty was bound to reach a similar anti-climax and so far it has. The overall conclusion is that is fun but not fantastic. However it is important to note that unless you are the stereotypical gamer who has his own gaming chair complete with a surrounding of cookies, crisps, full fat cola, a headset and the limited edition of Halo 3's Spartan mask, likiness is you won't find the game at all a let down. Afterall Infinity Ward are possibly the only people to construct a war-time gaming experience that steers well clear of clichés which removes the unbelievable characters who would look more in place in a Marvel Comic strip...

Advantages: Analogue, Birthright, A Fine Blue line...everything really
Disadvantages: Celice...it get's quite annoying

...This is the first album from A-ha for a while, and i think it is brilliant. I was a fan of their 80's music, who couldn't love 'Take On Me'???!! if you're expecting this album to be like that, you will be pleasantly suprised. There are some real gems on this album, including my favourite the lead song 'Analogue'. 1. Celice - I think this is an unusual song to open, as it is the worst song and most annoying one on the album! If you think the album can only go downhill from this, you are very wrong. it gets better and better! 2. Don't Do Me Any Favours - a nice guitar, catchy song. ...Call of Duty Modern warfare 2 looks amazing if you?re a halo freak you will fall in love with this first person shooter. It's very detailed. They even switched the map to the screen on your gun unlike any game I have seen before. As far as if you just want to buy the game, and not go online to play, the story line features are so much better. You can even drive on this epic 1st person shooter. The disadvantages to this game as far as I can see are only a few visual slumps like every once in awhile a car will not look as realistic but everything else is wonderful.
