my replacement kettle
Review of Haden AJBO 5302 by
mumsymary
Advantages: boils water for my tea/cofee,simple
Disadvantages: simple, corded
...Haden corded jug kettle.
The builders, bless their cotton socks broke my kettle and they replaced it with this Haden corded kettle I am not ever so happy about it but at least they replaced my kettle without being asked.
This white auto jug kettle cost about £18. The guarantee is for 12 months.
A plug is already fitted to the lead.
I find the cord/lead a little short .I am sorry I can find no info on the length and I can not find a measuring tool its about 30 cm long I guestimate .
This kettle is a tall jug with a water level gauge on the side. I find this useful. It will boil 1.7 litres of water.
The on off switch is located on the handle of the kettle. This is pushed down to start the kettle top boil and when the kettle boils it automatically switches off. My husband thinks it takes a long time to boil.
The spout is fine...

WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET
Review of Haden Classic Jug Kettle by
ragdoll
Advantages: good basic kettle at a budget price
Disadvantages: none that i know of
...As soon as i set eyes on this kettle i knew it was just what i was looking for in a budget priced jug kettle.
I found a bargain with this one,for just £9.95 i have a stylish 1.7 litre
capacity kettle.
It has three level boil dry cut out safety feature,in the event of the kettle being empty when switched on.
It comes with a full 12 months guarantee.Haden will repair or give you a replacement.
I don't need to fill it up completely,i can just boil enough for my needs.
Very useful if making just one cup of tea.
I like the easy pour shaped spout, there's no dribble or drips.
It doesn't have a filter, but that's not a problem if it's rinsed out and descaled regulary.
Some kettles i have had in the past had leads so long that they were hazardous as they would not coil round tidily.
The Haden Classic Corded Kettle has a lead thats not so long...

I rather Haden this kettle
Review of Haden BHJCF Cordless Jug Kettle by
Shroud
Advantages: cordless kettle on short corded base, automatic cutout when empty, will not switch on if not properly seated on base
Disadvantages: still have to descale though VERY infrequently
...We have had our Haden kettle now for about 19 months. That is easy to recall as its only about a month older than our baby LOL Haden make a range of budget kitchen gadget type appliances and seem to be able to keep in business, so obviously they are not too dodgy even though not the most expensive on the market! That was our reasoning anyway :)And sorry for the truly dreadful pun in the title!!!!! (Blush!)
Our particular kettle is white with a greenish water indicator window. There is a red light on the on button near the base of the jug, which lights up to let you know it has been switched on. The cordless kettle sits nicely on its short corded base plate. There is a nonstick sort of looking plate on the inside which supposedly helps reduce limescale. I would say it does a pretty good job as I have only had to descale once so far. I...

Does what it says on the tin.
Review of Haden HCB100 by
optimaboy
Advantages: Cheap, glass jug, easy to use.
Disadvantages: Chrome finish looks a little cheap, only 2 speed settings.
...I thought I should get more fruit into my diet and as I am always on the go, I thought a blender would be the ideal way to achieve this. After a little shopping around I got the Haden HCB-100 and I'm not disappointed.
It is a study blender, with 2 blending speeds and a pulse setting that blends at high speed for a long as you turn the button (excellant for getting bits of the sides at the end of blending!).
The base unit itself is plastic in a crome effect finish which looks nice enough. It had on central knob that controls the blending speeds by clicking to the right and activates the pulse feature by clickin to the left. In terms of ease of use its a doddle, as for looks, the chrome affect is somewhat cheap looking, but then you get what you pay for a stainless steel blender would cost a lot more!
The jug itself is glass which...

Did the job for as long as i need it
Review of Haden 13723 by
Jemma_C
Advantages: Very easy to used and disassemble
Disadvantages: Broke after a few months
...I bought this product from asda supermarket when i started giving my sons solids. I bought it when he was 4 months old, he is now 9 months and the blender has been broken for about 2 months.
When i first bought it, it was fantastic did exactly what id hoped for. It comes with the jug so all i did was put his food into the jug and when he was on smooth food i blended it for ages and when he started eating lumper food i just didnt blend it for as long. It was ideal everytime. However one day I went to use it and the blade from the middle would screw into place properly so it kept falling out and wouldnt spin, which in turn ment it wouldnt blend.
I suppose i could have over used it as i used it roughly 2-3 times a day but personally i think it should have lasted slightly longer. (Even though i wouldnt have used it any longer as my son...

Sexy, Shiny, Retro
Review of Kenwood SK960/SK950 by
Stanzi
Advantages: Well designed, attractive, ergonomic
Disadvantages: Cable might be too short depending on socket placement
...of the kettle body.
We finally found two models in the Argos catalogue that seemed suitable - one by Haden at £29.50 and the other by Kenwood at £27.50. I was already leaning towards the Kenwood kettle as it was slightly cheaper with a very similar design, and when we discovered that there was an additional four pounds off then this was the natural choice.
Appearance:
The Kenwood SK950 is curvy and shiny with a nice retro feel. There is a perky little round knob on the lid (which is placed at a jaunty slant) and a nicely shaped handle in the same matt black plastic. The spout is short and features a small mesh to catch any scale, although we're not troubled by this problem where we live. The body is polished stainless steel with a black plastic base for about the bottom 3 cms. The base is circular and in the same matt plastic as the other...

Dangerously designed cordless kettle.
Review of Moulinex Lirys by
mascarasnake
Advantages: Fast boil. Ambidextrous use.
Disadvantages: Fast boil your fingers. Noisy. Dangerous to pour.
...<<<<JUG WITH ROUND BASE>>>>><19/1/2>
This is no longer recommended even half heartedly. Sorry Brianlfc, I am not the only one that thinks this is a lethal device. In particular, what plonker of a designer makes the steam vents in the handle point out towards the fingers when Morphy Richards can make the vents point away!!!
Original article below, ().
This is a kettle with a round base. The importance of this is that it allows the kettle to be placed on the removable base unit at any orientation. The removable base houses the electrical connection to the mains electricity by the way. Most other kettles entail fiddling around to get the kettle...

I Need Coffee NOW
Review of Haden BHJCF Cordless Jug Kettle by
minxette
Advantages: Boils quick, holds lots of water and looks good.
Disadvantages: Not available in purple which is a damn shame.
...in everything being covered in white paper snow. On the load that contained my two favourite and very fluffy fleeces.
After spending the best part of half and hour picking white stuff off my clean washing, I put it in my old trusty tumble dryer. Which blew up as I watched. Understandably, a bit narked by now, I thought well I'll do the hoovering which usually serves as part housework, part therapy. Until the hose which connects the nozzle to the machine came off in my hands with no hope of repair.
At this point I gave up hope of achieving anything useful and put my kettle on, expecting it to blow up/stop working/fall apart. It didn't and that's why I love it!!!
Phew, that feels better! If you're still reading, which I hope you are, the Haden kettle I've got is the best kettle I've ever owned. It was relatively cheap at £19.99 from Argos...

MY BOUNCY BANANA BOILER
Review of Hinari Lifestyle by
blurbubble
Advantages: Cheap and cheerful, cordless
Disadvantages: Not very sturdy, may not last long
...Household appliances – can’t live with ‘em, can’t live without ‘em!! (Haven’t I used that line somewhere else recently?!)
I used to have a white plastic Haden jug kettle – it was cheap, it was sturdy, it lasted me about 12 years before it finally became just a little bit too unreliable and dodgy to use. Once the stage had come when it wouldn’t switch off automatically until it had filled my flat with steam making me feel like an extra in “Wuthering Heights” and had taken to giving out vicious little sparks whenever I switched it on or off I reluctantly binned it. 12 years, one of the longest relationships I’ve ever had!
So my search began (actually I didn’t bin the old one until I had a new one, obviously) for a new soulmate in the kitchen. After searching all the usual outlets such as Robert Dyas, Argos and Index I found my new...

Reasonably well designed safe cordless kettle
Review of Morphy Richards 43060 by
mascarasnake
Advantages: Quieter than the fast boil kettles, 3 mins for 1.5 litres.
Disadvantages: Not fast boil.
...The Morphy Richards Stainless Steel Kettle Essentials Jug (model 43058) is a well-designed semi pear shaped rounded jug style kettle, as opposed to the newer style tall columnar plastic design of the Haden and Moulinex ones I mention in another opinion. It is suitable for left or right handed or ambidextrous users as a consequence of the round base design. The kettle can be placed back on its base at any angle, most useful when in a hurry while cooking.
<jugs, which is what this is, I feel justified in placing this here, especially as no one has bothered to write about this category yet. Ciao can move it to its proper place if they introduce the 43058 category sometime. I can not wait...
