...In a nutshell, this Tigi Bed Head Small Talk is a splendid hair styling product, once you get the hang of how to use it! In my case it took a while! I suppose it was about a year ago when I first purchased this on a recommendation from Jermaine, my hairdresser, when he first cut my hair and styled it in a bob. I guess he took one look at my fine, flyaway, non voluminous locks and decided I was in need of help! In general I am reluctant to spend a lot on fancy hair care products but we have to trust our hairdressers, don't we? I was also a little worried about my own ability to maintain my new style so I thought I had better get some and quickly! A Very Very Good Hair Day!

Smart highlights/hair dye kit

Disadvantages: Fades quickly, not reccommended for hair that isn't in excellent condition

...I bought Smart Highlights ('intense red') in the hope of injecting some life into my medium-dark brown hair. The box claims "vibrant colour on even the darkest hair", which sounds promising. However, the reason that it does show up on dark hair is because it contains hydrogen peroxide (bleach, by any other name). So, be warned: this product is not particularly good for the hair. The kit comprises a 'pre-colour' shampoo, a sachet of 'smart colour' and a sachet of 'smart activator'. You also get a plastic mixing tray and brush, disposable gloves and a highlight cap with hook. The highlight cap is of reasonable quality and, if you don't mind washing it out afterwards, it can be used more than once, for example, if you plan on a few highlights to start off with and maybe adding some more, later on. My hairs in bad condition what should I do?

Advantages: Was the best haircut I've had in months
Disadvantages: Abit pricey (esp if you do regular visits) No loyalty card scheme as yet

...and pee -wees seem to offer. I did ask the receptionist before I left and he mentioned that it might be something they will look into. Saks are a new and upcoming Hair and Beauty salon company and haven't been around for long so who knows what would happen in the future. Personally, if I didn't have vouchers to part pay for it, I don't think I would have paid £44 for a haircut, despite the excellent service. However if they offer incentives such as loyalty card schemes, where you earn every time you spend to contribute to future visits I may reconsider. ~Additional Information~ There is only one branch in Birmingham city centre which is the one I visited on this particuliar occasion. It can be found on Temple row within the Great Western Arcade next to Natwest and opposite the House of Fraser. It is about a 5 minute walk by foot...

Review of Saks Hair&Beauty Salon

Great for short thin hair

Advantages: Heat very quickly
Disadvantages: Unable to cope with my thick hair

...I bought these recently as I cannot live without my older larger plated GHD's and thought that these would be a handy alternative. They do heat in under 3 seconds and have the same excellent ceramic plates as the larger version, however I found them very time consuming. I have very thick hair about shoulder length and unlike their larger cousins they were unable to straighten as effectively . On saying that they were brilliant on my fringe. I would recommend these to anyone with shorter or thin hair. A fashion conscientious male friend of mine used these and loved them and were perfect for his short hair. I would recommend using the straightening oil with these as they are very hot and I did find a few burnt strands of hair ....

Advantages: Fixes greasy hair - makes hair feel great

At this point I was already impressed, you know when you wash your hair with shampoo and it sqeaks and feels nasty, well it didn't this time, it already felt soft and smooth, I almost didn't condition it. I followed with conditioner, I'm not really sure what conditioner does exactly but I'm not about to stop using it and break the habit of my teenage years. After washing and conditioning I finished with a blast of cold water to add shine or something!! So how did my hair feel? Soft, shiny, greasyless. It was great. After having been nicely straightened as always it still felt nice, soft, smooth, just like after having my hair done at the hairdressers, well sort of, nothing can really beat hairdressed hair can it? ...I am always trying different hair sprays and I bought this one about 2 weeks ago. I haven't used that many Umberto Giannini products before so thought it was worth a try. It was the packaging of the range that caught my eye and I also thought it was a reasonable price at £4.88 for a 200ml bottle which looked quite big. Packaging? This was the reason I noticed the product in the first place, everything in the range has a lovely white modern looking packaging. This one is a tall white bottle with a silver rounded lid in a torpedo shape. It says "Umberto Giannini" at the top in silver writing and "Catwalk Beauty Hairspray" in red writing below this. Then below this is a lovely artistic image of a woman side on with a wild black and white hair-do with red surrounding it. It looks like something from my old art classes in college...

Makes your hair smell gorgeous!

Advantages: GORGEOUS smell, not too chemical and lovely bottle
Disadvantages: A little bit sticky if you apply too much, but nothing compared to other hairspays I've had.

...Before I was bought this product, I wasn't really a big fan of hairspray because it just felt so sticky and made your hair look dry. Not to mention you have to evacuate the room if someone sprays some so it is impossible to do in public and very, very annoying! However, I was instantly drawn to this one because of the gorgeous design and picture on the front. I wasn't so convinced when I looked at the price tag (£4.88 from Boots), but it's not at all that expensive for a hairspray - I'm just very tight with money and didn't want to waste it, especially on a product I had not got on well with in the past! MY LITTLE BEAUTY
